Who needs a chauffeur for GITEX, and when?

Delegates on fixed appointments, executives travelling with a team, and anyone arriving at night benefit most. Expo City Dubai is about 35 km from DXB, so the trip is a real drive. A pre-booked car with flight tracking removes the queue at both ends.

Most GITEX visitors work out the Expo City trip after landing, and by then they are tired, the taxi line is long and the hotel is a long way from the venue. A planned GITEX Dubai transportation schedule starts before departure: arrival, hotel, venue each day, evenings, departure. This page walks through each part, including when public transport or a taxi is the better answer.

Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based chauffeur service. In Dubai the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, and the Enroutz.ca desk books, confirms and invoices it. You get one confirmation, one invoice and one contact available around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven, with availability confirmed at booking.

GITEX GLOBAL 2026: dates and venue

According to the organiser's website, gitex.com, GITEX GLOBAL 2026 takes place from 7 to 11 December 2026. The GITEX Summit is listed for 7 December and the Expo for 8 to 11 December. The organiser lists the Expo at Expo City Dubai.

If you have attended GITEX in earlier years, check the venue on your badge or confirmation before you give any driver an address. Past editions were held at a different Dubai venue, and a pickup sent to the wrong address costs a lot of time on this route. We have not listed GITEX 2027 dates here because the organiser has not yet published them on the page we checked.

Expo City Dubai describes several spaces for events, including Terra, the Connect Conference Centre (C3) and Nexus. Your chauffeur needs the exact building and entrance, not just the site name. The site is also covered by the Expo City Dubai website, which notes the Dubai Metro Expo 2020 station for rail access.

How far is Expo City Dubai from DXB and the main hotel districts?

Distances matter because the venue is on the southern side of the city, near Dubai South, rather than in the old centre. Treat the following as planning figures, checked against traffic on the day:

Free stock photo of abu dhabi, arches, blue
  • DXB to Expo City: about 35 km, usually 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Al Maktoum International (DWC) to Expo City: about 15 km, usually 15 to 25 minutes.
  • Downtown Dubai and DIFC to Expo City: about 30 km, usually 30 to 50 minutes depending on the hour.
  • Dubai Marina to Expo City: about 25 km, usually 25 to 40 minutes.
  • Palm Jumeirah to Expo City: about 30 km, usually 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Dubai to Abu Dhabi: about 140 km, usually 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

The main spine is Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). It carries the evening commute and the Thursday night crowd heading into the city, and a drive that takes 30 minutes at 10 am can take over an hour at 6 pm. The booker shows the exact fare for your pickup and vehicle before you confirm.

Arriving at DXB: terminals and the meeting point

Dubai International (DXB) has three terminals, and which one you arrive at depends on your airline. Your confirmation names the terminal, and the chauffeur messages before landing. The airport's own site, dubaiairports.ae, lists airport services and links to DWC. Our Dubai airport transfer page explains every terminal in detail.

What the booking includes:

  • Flight tracking, so your pickup follows the real landing time.
  • 60 minutes of free waiting after landing on international arrivals.
  • An optional name-board meet and greet inside arrivals, with an alias name on the board on request.
  • Luggage handled by the chauffeur, and Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers in most vehicles.

Delegations arriving by private jet through Al Maktoum or a DXB business-aviation terminal should read the DWC Al Maktoum and business aviation page. Cruise passengers can use the Dubai cruise terminal transfer page.

The metro is the lowest-cost option. If your hotel sits near a station and you have no luggage, it works well. A chauffeur is the better answer for delegates who are attending meetings in two different districts on the same day, for evening trips back to the city, and for any traveller who does not want to plan a route.

A typical GITEX week

Summit day (7 December). The Summit is separate from the Expo in the organiser's schedule, so some senior delegates arrive earlier than the exhibition crowd. Confirm your venue and registration area with the organiser, and let your chauffeur know which entrance to use.

Expo days (8 to 11 December). Morning arrivals bunch between roughly 8 and 10 am. Late afternoon, departures bunch again. Many delegates plan their meetings for the middle of the day to avoid both peaks. If you want to be inside the venue before the first sessions, ask for an early pickup and let the dispatcher recommend a time.

The last day. On the final day, delegates leave straight for the airport, so a pre-booked car with flight tracking makes the journey predictable. DXB check-in generally closes well ahead of departure, and long-haul passengers should allow time for traffic on the way.

Reserve your chauffeur

Where delegates stay, and what that means for the drive

Most visitors stay in Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Business Bay, Dubai Marina or Palm Jumeirah, because those areas have the greatest choice of hotels and restaurants. All are 25 to 50 minutes from Expo City, and all are on or near the E11 corridor. If you have a choice, a hotel near a metro station or on the south side of the city may shorten the daily commute.

For a hotel with a known arrival drama, such as the entrance to a landmark property, the chauffeur coordinates the access with the hotel concierge. We cover two iconic Dubai hotels in more detail: the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Royal. For the wider city, see our Dubai chauffeur service page.

Government delegations, VIPs and discreet arrivals

GITEX attracts ministers, senior officials and the leaders of large technology companies, and some of them travel with protocol staff. Enroutz.ca can supply a First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar), a Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar), or a Maybach or Rolls-Royce on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Your party's protocol office should supply the arrival plan; the chauffeur follows it.

Discretion is standard. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. We work alongside a client's own security team, but Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company, and we do not provide bodyguards or armed drivers. Read more on the VIP and celebrity chauffeur page.

Startups, exhibitors and booth teams

Founders and exhibitors usually travel with demonstration kit and promotional material. The Luxury SUV carries up to six passengers and five to six large bags; the Executive Sprinter carries up to twelve with twelve bags. Larger delegations can ask for a mini-coach or coach (20 to 56 seats), subject to confirmation. See group transportation.

Freight and stand-build materials move through the venue's logistics and not in a chauffeur vehicle. The chauffeur moves your team, laptops and smaller items on time. Our trade show transportation page explains how exhibitor days are scheduled, and the corporate accounts page covers monthly invoicing for a company with many travellers.

Driving in Dubai: roads, tolls and etiquette

Dubai's main roads use an electronic toll system called Salik. Your chauffeur handles any road charges for a booked trip, and the fare in the booker is the all-in fare for the journey. We have not checked Salik's gate locations or charging rules on its official site for this page, so we do not list them here.

On courtesy: the city is cosmopolitan, and business dress in Dubai is conservative smart. Handshakes depend on the person; wait for the other person to extend a hand, particularly across gender lines. Photography of local people without permission is unwelcome, and our chauffeurs do not photograph clients. Local law applies to alcohol and no drinks are promised on board. Public holidays and religious observances can affect traffic and opening hours, so check the calendar for your dates.

Flying from Toronto

Dubai is on Gulf Standard Time, nine hours ahead of Toronto in December, and the flight from Toronto takes about 12 to 13 hours on a nonstop service. Many travellers who leave on an evening flight land in the middle of the next night and need a car when no public transport is convenient. Passport and visa requirements depend on your nationality, so check the UAE's official entry rules with your airline before departure.

Because the booking is made through the Toronto desk, the same chauffeur team can plan your Toronto departure, your Dubai arrival and your return. Our worldwide chauffeur network page explains the standards, and the Middle East hub lists the Gulf cities we cover.

Beyond GITEX: other Dubai events and trips

Dubai holds several large exhibitions every year. We have pages for Arabian Travel Market, the World Health Expo and the Dubai Airshow, and the trade shows hub lists all of them. If your trip includes Abu Dhabi, see our Abu Dhabi chauffeur service page.

Booking and cancellation

Open the booker, enter the pickup, destination, date and time, and choose the vehicle class. Vehicle classes are "or similar", and the model is confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request.

Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.

Where is GITEX GLOBAL 2026 held?

The organiser lists the Expo at Expo City Dubai. If you remember earlier editions at another venue, confirm the address on your badge or confirmation before you give it to a driver.

How far is Expo City Dubai from Dubai airport?

About 35 km from DXB, usually 30 to 45 minutes. From Al Maktoum International (DWC) it is about 15 km. Both figures change with traffic and the hour of travel.

Is there a metro to Expo City Dubai?

Yes. The Expo City Dubai website refers to the Dubai Metro Expo 2020 station. The metro is the lowest-cost option for travellers staying near the line.

Can a chauffeur wait for me during the day?

Yes. A one-way transfer includes 15 minutes of waiting on non-airport pickups. For longer waits or several stops, book by the hour so the same chauffeur stays with you.

Which vehicle suits a team of six?

A Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) seats six with five to six large bags. A team of eight to twelve fits an Executive Sprinter.

Can you arrange a meet and greet at DXB?

Yes. A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is an add-on, and an alias name can be used on the board if you prefer privacy.

What happens if my flight lands late?

Your flight is tracked, so the pickup follows the real landing time. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.

Do you own cars in Dubai?

No. In Dubai the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed, commercially insured local partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk.
