The best part of a train journey is that it ends in the middle of a city. The worst part is the last half hour: a crowded concourse, the wrong exit, a taxi queue, luggage and a hotel you have never seen. A train station car service removes that half hour. You book a chauffeur in advance, the booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you pay, and a vehicle is confirmed against your train. This hub explains how station pickups work, compares them with the alternatives, and links to each station page we have written.
Train station car service: how Enroutz.ca covers rail arrivals
Enroutz.ca is a premium black-car and chauffeur service with its home base and dispatch desk in Toronto. In Toronto, the GTA and Ontario, rides are operated from the Toronto desk with Enroutz.ca vehicles and chauffeurs. Everywhere else (the rest of Canada, the United States, Europe and the Middle East) the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk. There is one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact 24/7. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
Inside the United States, rides are delivered by US-licensed partners, because Canadian vehicles cannot do domestic US point-to-point work. Cross-border trips between Toronto and the United States run from Toronto. Read how it all fits together on the worldwide chauffeur network page.
You can book any pickup worldwide on the booker: enter the pickup, the destination and the time, and the desk confirms a fixed quote.

How does a station pickup work?
The routine is the same at every station, with the details changing at each one.

- Book in advance on the booker. Give the station, the operator and train number, the scheduled arrival time and the destination.
- Receive a confirmation that states the vehicle class, the fixed fare and the meeting point. The meeting point is the part that varies most between stations, which is why it is in the confirmation rather than in a general promise.
- Meet your chauffeur. The default is a curbside or concourse meeting point. A name-board meet-and-greet is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board if you want privacy.
- Travel. The chauffeur loads the luggage and drives to the destination. Child, toddler and booster seats can be requested at booking, and most vehicles carry Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers.
Waiting time on a station pickup is 15 minutes from the scheduled pickup time. If the train is late, contact the desk, which is staffed 24/7. Flight tracking applies to airport pickups; for stations, give the desk the train number and scheduled arrival, and tell it about delays as soon as you know.
Station comparison: where the exits, curbs and services really are
Stations are big, and the signs are written for people who already know the station. Some facts we confirmed against the operators' own pages in 2026:

- Toronto Union Station: 65 Front Street West, open daily 05:30 to 00:45 according to VIA Rail. VIA describes the curbside zone as the sidewalk in front of the main entrance on Front Street.
- Montréal Gare Centrale: 895 de la Gauchetière West, under the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. VIA lists the accessible curbside drop-off to the left of the main entrance and notes connections to the REM, EXO, STM metro and a 747 shuttle to the airport.
- Ottawa Station: 200 Tremblay Road, about 4 km from downtown, with a curbside zone directly in front of the main entrance.
- New York: Amtrak's New York home is Moynihan Train Hall at 351 West 31st Street. Amtrak lists taxi pickup on 31st Street and rideshare and other pick-up and drop-off on 33rd Street, both between 8th and 9th Avenues.
- Chicago Union Station: open seven days, closed daily 01:00 to 05:00 according to the station's own site; neither the station nor Amtrak names a single pickup door, so the confirmation states the meeting point.
The official pages are worth reading before you travel: VIA Rail's station pages, Amtrak's New York station page and, for the Channel Tunnel, Eurostar.
Station car service, taxi, rideshare, metro or chauffeur?

| Option | Typical time | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walking | 5 to 20 minutes | free | hotels beside the station and one bag |
| Metro, subway or O-Train | 10 to 30 minutes | lowest | light luggage and a direct line |
| Taxi rank | 10 to 40 minutes depending on city | metered | quick curbside departures |
| Rideshare | similar to taxi | surge-priced at peak times | short notice and light luggage |
| Hotel shuttle | varies | often free, not always available | hotels with a shuttle service |
| Rental car | varies | varies | road trips beyond the city |
| Private chauffeur | door to door | fixed fare via booker | families, groups, executives, heavy luggage, late-night arrivals, formal arrivals |
We tell travellers plainly: if the hotel is next door or the metro runs straight to it, the cheaper option is the better one. A chauffeur is the right choice when luggage, children, time pressure, a late arrival, unfamiliar surroundings or a formal meeting are involved.
Trains versus flights: when the station is the better start
Trains beat planes on city-centre to city-centre trips once the time spent on the airport side is counted. A few examples drawn from our station pages:
- Toronto to Ottawa is about 450 km by road and a straightforward VIA Rail corridor trip. Ottawa Station is about 4 km from downtown.
- New York to Toronto on the Amtrak Maple Leaf is listed at 12 hours 30 minutes, with the border crossed at Niagara Falls. Amtrak lists it as a daily train; at the time of writing there is a service adjustment notice for 17 and 18 October 2026.
- New York to Montréal on the Amtrak Adirondack takes about 10 hours, according to Amtrak.
- London to Paris by Eurostar is a city-centre to city-centre journey. Eurostar lists St Pancras as its London station and serves Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Lille and other cities.
- Rome airport to Rome Termini on the Leonardo Express takes 32 minutes, according to Trenitalia.
Long journeys by train are comfortable, but the chauffeur ride at either end is often what makes the schedule work. Read the city-to-city car service page for road journeys beyond a station.
Rail and airport connections
Many stations have an airport link. For Toronto, the UP Express runs between Union Station and Pearson in about 28 minutes, according to Metrolinx. For Montréal, the REM's airport branch was not yet open at the time of writing, according to the REM's own site, and a 747 express shuttle links Gare Centrale with the airport. For Rome, the Leonardo Express links Fiumicino and Termini in 32 minutes, and regional trains link Civitavecchia and Rome roughly every 30 minutes, taking under an hour.
If a chauffeur is more convenient, our airports hub lists every airport we cover, and the Pearson airport limo page explains the Toronto side. For private jets, see the private aviation hub.
Rail in Europe: St Pancras, Gare du Nord and beyond
Our European station pages cover the Eurostar pair, London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord. Eurostar's own site lists destinations from London St Pancras including Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Disneyland Paris, Bruges, Lille, Rotterdam and Cologne, with connections onward to more than 100 destinations. For a traveller flying from Toronto to London and continuing to Paris by rail, the sequence is a chauffeur from the hotel to Pearson, the flight, a chauffeur from Heathrow to St Pancras, the Eurostar, and a chauffeur from Gare du Nord to the hotel. One desk can arrange all of those rides, with one invoice. See the Europe hub and the London chauffeur service and Paris chauffeur service pages for the city side.
Italy and Spain have their own pages for airports and ports, and Trenitalia's regional and airport trains link ports and airports with city stations. If your plan includes a rail leg we do not list, enter the station on the booker and the desk will confirm what can be arranged.
Washington and the Northeast corridor
The Northeast corridor is Amtrak's densest route. Washington Union Station and New York Penn Station are the two ends many business travellers use, with Acela and Northeast Regional services listed by Amtrak for New York. A chauffeur at each end turns the trip into a two-ride day: meeting, train, meeting. For investor trips, the roadshow car service page covers multi-city days.
Station and cruise combinations
Cruise passengers use trains often. Civitavecchia has a train station about 1 km from the port, and regional trains to Rome take under an hour, according to the port's mobility pages; a chauffeur can run the same journey door to door. See the cruise ports hub and the Civitavecchia and Rome page.
Hotels, conventions and events near stations
Stations sit in business districts, so many bookings end at a hotel or a venue. Our hotels hub lists the hotels we serve, including the Fairmont Royal York across from Toronto Union. For conferences and trade shows, see the events hub and trade shows hub, and for corporate meetings the meetings, incentives and conferences page.
Corporate, group and accessibility needs
Corporate accounts include monthly invoicing and cost-centre references. See corporate accounts and the corporate chauffeur service page. For groups, the Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers with 12 bags, and mini-coaches and coaches (20 to 56 seats) are available on request. See group transportation.
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. VIA Rail offers its own curbside assistance for accessibility needs with 48 hours' notice, and you can combine that service with a pre-booked ride. Tell the desk at booking about wheelchairs, strollers or other equipment so the vehicle can be confirmed with space in mind.
Rail travel tips for international visitors
- Check the station name. Cities with more than one station, such as New York, have different stations for different services.
- Carry the right documents on cross-border trains. The Maple Leaf crosses at Niagara Falls and the Adirondack goes between New York and Montréal. Amtrak's counter at Montréal asks for a valid passport. Check entry requirements for your nationality on the government sites for Canada and the United States.
- Allow buffers. Hours vary, services change, and construction can alter station access, as VIA Rail's note about construction affecting Ottawa's station parking shows.
- Keep the desk informed. A message about a delay is better than waiting at the curb.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a chauffeur at a train station?
Yes. Enter the station, operator, train number and scheduled arrival on the booker. The confirmation states the vehicle, the fixed fare and the meeting point.
Does the chauffeur track my train?
Flight tracking applies to airport pickups. For a station pickup, the desk takes the scheduled arrival time and you tell it about delays, which it can handle 24/7. Waiting time is 15 minutes from the scheduled pickup time.
Which stations do you cover?
Toronto Union, Montréal Gare Centrale, Ottawa, New York Penn Station and Moynihan Train Hall, Chicago Union, Washington Union, London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord. Other stations can be requested through the booker.
Is a train station chauffeur cheaper than a taxi?
Not always. A taxi is metered and a rideshare can be surge-priced; the booker shows a fixed fare before you pay. For short hops with light luggage, walking or the metro is the lower-cost choice.
Who drives the car outside Toronto?
A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk. In the United States, partners are US-licensed.
Can you meet me inside the station?
A name-board meet-and-greet is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board if you prefer. The default is a curbside or concourse meeting point stated in the confirmation.
Can you pick up from a station and drive me to the airport?
Yes. See the airport pages for terminal procedures and the typical drive time. The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle.
What is the cancellation policy?
More than 72 hours' notice is free; 72 hours or less carries 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
