Chauffeur service Jeddah: the Red Sea gateway, handled with care
Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's Red Sea city. It is a commercial port, a cosmopolitan seafront and the gateway through which millions of pilgrims reach Makkah and Madinah. A chauffeur service in Jeddah therefore has to do two things well: move business and leisure visitors efficiently around a long coastal city, and respect the rules that surround the holy cities.
Our Toronto desk takes the booking and a licensed, vetted and commercially insured Jeddah partner supplies the car and the chauffeur. Confirmation and invoicing stay with us, and the quoted fare is final once you accept it. We operate no vehicles or offices of our own in the kingdom, and we are open about that.
What is the best way to get from Jeddah airport to the city?

Pre-book a chauffeur. King Abdulaziz International Airport is about 19 km north of Jeddah, and your hotel may be much farther along the coast. A pre-arranged driver tracks your flight, meets you at the right terminal and drives on a fixed fare quoted before you pay.
The distance from the airport to the northern seafront is modest, but the city is long. The historic district, Al-Balad, is a separate destination from the northern seafront. The booker prices the exact route to your address and shows the fare before you confirm.
Entry rules and the official travel advice
Read the Government of Canada's Saudi Arabia travel advice, updated on 8 October 2026. At the time of writing it says "Avoid non-essential travel" for the country because of the volatile security situation in the region, with a stricter "avoid all travel" level for the Asir, Jazan and Najran provinces and within 30 km of the Yemen border. Jeddah is outside those areas. Read the live page before you travel.
The same page says a visa is required for tourist, business, student and work travel. Tourist visas can be obtained online or on arrival at the airport, and a Canadian passport must be valid for at least six months. The Visit Saudi portal is the official tourism site.
King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED): which terminal
JED has several terminals, and they matter. In outline:

- Terminal 1 is the main passenger terminal, designed for about 30 million passengers a year, officially inaugurated in September 2019. Saudia moved its domestic and international operations there in 2019, and some foreign airlines have joined.
- The North Terminal is mainly used by non-Saudi airlines.
- The Hajj Terminal was built for the pilgrimage and operates seasonally; it can accommodate about 80,000 travellers at a time and won an Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1983.
- The South Terminal, which opened in 1981, closed after a June 2020 announcement.
Your ticket names your terminal and your confirmation repeats it, so your chauffeur waits at the right arrivals area. We track the live flight, and on international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. A name board inside arrivals, with an alias for privacy on request, is available as an add-on; see the meet and greet page. The airport page for pickups is Jeddah JED, and the full list is in the airports hub.

The Haramain high-speed railway has a station at Terminal 1, linked by a 3.75 km branch line. It serves Makkah, Madinah and King Abdullah Economic City. Because non-Muslims may not travel to Makkah, check your destination before you plan any journey on that line.
Taxi and ride-hail prices depend on your destination and the hour. The chauffeur fare in the booker is fixed in advance, which matters if you arrive at 2 am after a long flight. Where the lowest-cost option is a taxi from the rank, we say so honestly; choose the chauffeur when comfort, a family, luggage or a time-sensitive meeting is the priority.
Makkah and Madinah: clear and respectful guidance
This section is important, and we want to be accurate.

Jeddah lies about 65 to 70 km west of Makkah. According to the Government of Canada, non-Muslims are forbidden from travelling to the holy city of Mecca. The same page does not state whether non-Muslims may visit Madinah and advises checking with Saudi authorities or the Embassy of Canada in Riyadh before planning a trip there. Hajj requires a specific Hajj visa, valid only for Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and travel between them.
What that means for your booking:
- If you are not a Muslim, our partners will not route you into Makkah's restricted area. Access is restricted under Saudi rules, not by company policy. If your plans take you east of Jeddah, tell the desk and we will plan the route accordingly.
- Enroutz.ca does not sell Hajj or Umrah packages, which are organised through licensed operators under Saudi rules.
- If you are a Muslim traveller who needs a transfer between Jeddah and Makkah or Madinah, tell the desk. Availability depends on licensed partners and Saudi regulations, and we will say plainly what is possible.
Treat the holy cities with the respect they ask. When in doubt, ask the desk or the Embassy of Canada before you plan.
Pilgrim seasons and how they change the airport
Because Jeddah is the gateway to the holy cities, the airport has a seasonal rhythm. The Hajj takes place in the twelfth Islamic month, Dhu al-Hijjah, and the Hajj Terminal, with room for tens of thousands of travellers at a time, is built for that peak. Umrah visitors arrive through the rest of the year, so the airport is rarely quiet. For non-pilgrim travellers, the practical advice is simple: book early in busy periods, allow longer for immigration and baggage reclaim, and give the desk your exact flight number so the chauffeur tracks the right arrival. Hotel availability and road conditions in these periods are managed locally, and the desk will tell you if a partner has capacity constraints for your date.
Historic Jeddah, the Corniche and what to see
Al-Balad, the historic district, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014 as "Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Mecca". It is a district of old coral-stone merchant houses on narrow lanes where cars cannot always enter, so your chauffeur drops you at the nearest vehicle access point and collects you again when you call. The Corniche is the seafront road, with promenades and sculptures; King Fahd's Fountain, built in the 1980s, jets water up to 312 m and is visible from the seafront. Jeddah's population was about 3.75 million in 2022, so the city is large and spread out.
Dress modestly. The Government of Canada asks men and women to dress modestly in public, women to cover arms and legs, and shoulders and knees to be covered especially in Mecca, Medina and mosques. Photograph holy sites, government buildings and diplomatic missions only where it is permitted, and ask permission before photographing people. Alcohol is not part of the experience; Saudi authorities apply zero tolerance, and we never promise drinks on board.
The Corniche Circuit and Jeddah's event calendar
Jeddah Corniche Circuit opened on 3 December 2021 and hosts the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on a 6.174 km layout beside the Red Sea. The official Formula 1 calendar for 2026 shows no Jeddah round this year, so do not assume a race week; check Formula 1 for the next one. For other large events the organisers' own schedules prevail. We carry only dates that an organiser has confirmed, and the desk will tell you plainly if a venue changes. See our events hub and event transportation page for how large-venue logistics work.
Business travel, delegations and discretion
For delegations, we recommend a named dispatcher on the desk, fixed loops between hotels and venues, and a spare vehicle in the pool; see meetings, incentives and conferences transport, corporate accounts and group transport. If you need one driver for a day of appointments, an hourly chauffeur booking keeps one car at your disposal.
Drivers never photograph passengers or post about their journeys, and NDAs are available. Bodyguards and armed drivers are not part of a chauffeur service; the partner works alongside a principal's own security team, and armoured vehicles can be requested through vetted partners with availability confirmed at booking. Read about executive protection transport and VIP chauffeur service.
The local week and Ramadan
Saudi Arabia observes a Friday and Saturday weekend. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 7 to 8 February, subject to the moon sighting, and the Government of Canada asks visitors to be discreet about eating, drinking and smoking in public between sunrise and sunset. Friday midday prayers shape the day, and Jeddah's evenings come alive after sunset in Ramadan. Ask the desk to plan around them. For the capital, see the Riyadh page; for the region, the Middle East hub.
Flying from Toronto to Jeddah, and arriving in Toronto from Jeddah
If you are flying from Toronto to Jeddah, an Enroutz.ca vehicle takes you to Pearson and the Jeddah chauffeur is added to the same booking; see the Pearson page. If you are arriving in Toronto from Jeddah, the desk tracks your flight and the Toronto fleet waits at Pearson with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. Newcomers to Canada may like the Toronto airport transfer guide and the travelling to Toronto page.
Vehicles for Jeddah
Jeddah's seafront hotels and long coastal roads suit the sedans for individuals and pairs: the Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) or the First Class Sedan (S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar), with three seats, two large and two cabin bags. Families usually need the Luxury SUV (Escalade, Suburban, Yukon Denali or similar), seating six with five to six large bags; groups of up to twelve use the Executive Sprinter with twelve bags. Larger parties can request a mini-coach or coach of 20 to 56 seats.
Maybach, Rolls-Royce and stretch limousine are available on request, subject to confirmation at booking. Each class is quoted "or similar", and the model is confirmed when you book. Partner vehicles are at most four model years old, with seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach. See the fleet page.
