Frankfurt airport chauffeur: a hub that works for people in a hurry

Frankfurt Airport is unusually close to the city it serves. The city centre and the exhibition grounds are about 12 km from the terminals, and the business districts are even closer than that sounds. People come here for the banks and the European institutions, for the trade fairs, and to connect to somewhere else. A Frankfurt airport chauffeur suits all three: you arrive, you are driven straight to a boardroom or a stand, and you leave at the end of the day without learning the geography.

Enroutz.ca is a Toronto chauffeur desk. In Germany the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, while the booking, the confirmation and the invoice are handled by our desk. There is one booking, one invoice and one contact for the whole trip. We do not own vehicles or offices in Germany. Partner cars are never more than four model years old, and the luxury marques Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach never more than seven.

Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are requests rather than defaults, and the desk confirms availability at booking. A mini-coach or coach with 20 to 56 seats is available on request. Models are shown as "or similar"; the exact car is confirmed when you book. See the fleet.

Frankfurt has a new terminal: where will my chauffeur meet me?

Terminal 3 opened in 2026, and the airport says airlines that used Terminal 2 are now located there, so Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are the ones to expect. Your airline decides which. Our desk reads the terminal from your flight number and states the meeting point in your confirmation.

Most guides still describe Frankfurt as having Terminals 1 and 2, and that is out of date. Fraport, the airport operator, published a release in 2026 about the inauguration of the new Terminal 3, having announced in 2025 that it would be inaugurated on April 22. The airport's own site now states that the airlines from Terminal 2 are located in the new Terminal 3, and it lists a Terminal 3 bus station among its transport options. Another Fraport release says that Condor will operate from Terminal 3 from 2027, so the allocation of airlines is still moving.

Because of that, airline-terminal advice from old articles should not be trusted. The desk checks the terminal for your flight on the day. We do not print a door number or kerb for pick-ups here, since we could not confirm the current pick-up arrangements from the airport's pages; the confirmation states the meeting point. The official source is frankfurt-airport.com, and press updates are at fraport.com.

Arriving from Toronto or North America

A flight from Toronto to Frankfurt is an international arrival into the Schengen area. You pass passport control before baggage claim, and queue lengths depend on how many long-haul flights land together. In the morning, there are many. Our free waiting period on international arrivals is 60 minutes after landing, which exists for this reason.

The European Union's new border systems, the Entry/Exit System and ETIAS, are described on the EU's official page at travel-europe.europa.eu. We could not confirm their current operating status from that page, so please check it before you travel. If you start in Toronto, our Pearson Airport limo page covers the departure end.

One practical detail from Frankfurt Airport's own security page: most checkpoints at Terminal 1 allow liquids of up to 2 litres and electronic devices such as laptops and tablets to stay in carry-on bags. That is a departure-side rule that may differ by checkpoint, so check on the day, but it matters if you will leave from Frankfurt on the same trip.

Frankfurt's motorway network is dense, and the airport sits at a major junction. The A3 and A5 handle huge volumes, and congestion near the Frankfurter Kreuz is common on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons. A driver who uses these roads every day will choose a route in real time. The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you pay.

Frankfurt Airport to the city: S-Bahn, taxi or chauffeur?

Frankfurt has strong rail links. The airport has its own regional and long-distance stations, and suburban trains normally reach the main station in about 15 minutes. That is a real advantage, and for a solo traveller with a single bag it is often the best choice.

The train is the sensible choice if your hotel is next to the main station. The chauffeur is a better choice when you carry samples, cases or a display, when you travel with a senior colleague, or when your hotel is in Westend, Sachsenhausen or a business district away from the station.

Messe Frankfurt and trade-fair weeks

Messe Frankfurt describes itself as the world's largest trade fair, congress and event organiser, and its exhibition grounds are among Europe's largest, with about 400,000 square metres of event space. Its own site highlights the Frankfurter Buchmesse, held 7 to 11 October 2026, which is the book fair that fills the city in October each year. Other major shows use the same grounds across the year; Messe Frankfurt's website at messefrankfurt.com lists them, and we do not state dates for future years that we have not confirmed.

During a major fair, hotels are scarce and prices rise, and traffic near the grounds is heavy at the start and end of each day. If you are an exhibitor with crates or a buyer with a full diary, a chauffeur on an hourly or day booking keeps your schedule intact. See our trade show transportation page and the trade shows hub for planning, and compare how we handle ITB Berlin.

Bankers, regulators and the European institutions

Frankfurt is the seat of the European Central Bank and a major centre for banks and asset managers. The business district is compact, and meetings often start early. For clients who visit repeatedly, corporate accounts offer monthly invoicing, cost-centre references and bookings made by an assistant on behalf of the principal. Our corporate chauffeur service page explains how that works across cities.

For investor tours covering Frankfurt, London and Zurich in one week, see our roadshow car service page. Clients are never photographed and trips are never posted about; NDAs are signed on request. Our Frankfurt chauffeur service city page covers hotels and the district in more detail.

The Rhine, Rhine-Main and day trips

The Rhine valley is an easy extension: Mainz is about 35 km from the airport, Wiesbaden about 40 km, and the wine villages around Rüdesheim about 70 km. Heidelberg is about 90 km south. These are common trips for visitors with a free day. An hourly booking lets the chauffeur wait while you walk, eat or visit a castle. Our hourly chauffeur and private tours with driver pages describe the options.

If your trip continues to Munich, Zurich or Paris, compare our Munich airport and Paris CDG pages, or the Europe hub.

Vehicles at Frankfurt

  • Executive Sedan: a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, a Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar. Carries three people, two large bags and two cabin bags.
  • First Class Sedan: a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a BMW 7 Series or similar. Same capacity, a quieter cabin, the usual choice for senior colleagues.
  • Luxury SUV: a Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Yukon Denali or similar. Six people and five to six large bags, enough for a small stand crew.
  • Executive Sprinter: a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Twelve people and twelve bags, for delegations and exhibition teams.

Flight tracking, waiting time and cancellations

Your flight is tracked for every airport pickup. A delayed flight moves the pickup at no cost. Free waiting is 60 minutes after landing on international arrivals, 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, and 15 minutes on other pickups. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time: free with more than 72 hours' notice; 10 percent at 72 hours or less; 50 percent at 48 hours or less; 100 percent at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Large events and trade fairs may carry a different deadline, which is stated on your confirmation.

Comfort, children and discretion

Booster, toddler and child seats are available if you ask at booking; give us ages and weights. Expect Wi-Fi, water and chargers in most vehicles. Alcohol on board is never promised, and German law applies. If you want privacy, the name board can show an alias. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service rather than a security firm, so there are no armed drivers or bodyguards. We work alongside a client's own security team.

Frankfurt as a stop on a longer trip

Frankfurt is a common first or last stop on a European tour. Travellers who start in Frankfurt often continue to Paris, London or Zurich; see the London Heathrow chauffeur page for the British end, and the airports directory for all gateways.

A worked example: an early arrival and a late-morning meeting

Suppose your overnight flight from Toronto lands at 7:30 am and you are due in the banking district at 11. The drive is about 12 km, 20 to 45 minutes, and the weekday morning peak on the A3 and A5 is exactly when you would be on the road. Passport control and baggage claim can also take time when several long-haul flights arrive together, which is why an international arrival comes with an hour of free waiting.

A workable rule is to leave at least two and a half hours between landing and a first meeting, and three if your hotel is away from the main station. That gap covers the border queue, the bags and the drive, with a few minutes spare to change a shirt.

Pack that shirt in your cabin bag. If your room will not be ready, ask the hotel before you travel whether it will hold your luggage, and send the desk the meeting address as well as the hotel, so the route can be planned in the right order. A name board with an alias keeps the pickup private.

Frequently asked questions

Does Frankfurt Airport have a Terminal 3 now?

Yes. Fraport inaugurated the new Terminal 3 in 2026, and the airport says airlines that used Terminal 2 are now there. Your flight number tells us the terminal on the day.

How far is Frankfurt Airport from the city centre?

About 12 km. The drive typically takes 20 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic on the A3, the A5 and the city approaches.

Is the train better than a chauffeur from Frankfurt Airport?

For one traveller with light luggage and a hotel near the main station, yes. A chauffeur is better with heavy bags, trade-fair equipment, children, late arrivals or hotels away from the station.

Where does my chauffeur meet me?

The meeting point is written into your confirmation. A name-board greeting in arrivals is available as an add-on.

How long is the drive from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt?

About 12 km, typically 20 to 45 minutes. During trade fairs, allow more time at the start and end of each day.

Can you drive me from Frankfurt to the Rhine valley?

Yes. Mainz is about 35 km, Wiesbaden about 40 km and Rüdesheim about 70 km. You can book a one-way transfer or an hourly chauffeur.

Do I need a visa for Germany?

Entry rules for the Schengen area are set by the EU and Germany and are changing with new border systems. Check the official EU page and your government's travel advice before you fly.

What does a Frankfurt chauffeur cost?

We do not publish rates. The online booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before payment, and the fare is fixed once confirmed.

How long will my driver wait at Frankfurt?

On international arrivals the free wait is 60 minutes after landing. Because flights are tracked, a delay shifts the pickup time.
