Bahrain International Airport (BAH) sits on Muharraq island, and Manama, the capital, is only about 10 km away over the causeways. That is a short drive by any standard, which makes the quality of the first twenty minutes the point: a named driver at arrivals, a tracked flight and a fixed fare quoted before you book. This page covers the airport, the roads, the Grand Prix circuit at Sakhir and the causeway to Saudi Arabia.
What is the best Bahrain airport transfer from BAH?
For most visitors with luggage, a pre-booked chauffeur is the most predictable Bahrain airport transfer: a named driver, flight tracking and a fixed fare quoted before you pay. Manama is only about 10 km from BAH, so the drive is short, but arrivals can be busy.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based black car and chauffeur service. In Bahrain the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach are accepted up to seven. We do not own vehicles or offices in Bahrain.
This page is written for the traveller flying into Bahrain from North America or Europe for business, a motorsport weekend or a stopover, and for the Bahrain-based traveller who wants the same standard of chauffeur at the other end of a long flight. For the wider kingdom, see the Bahrain chauffeur service page.
The passenger terminal and how you leave it
The airport's website refers to a new passenger terminal building, and it describes its ground transport layout in some detail. Car Park B is adjacent to the terminal and Car Park D is across from it, with a short bus ride to the building. Bahraini taxis are readily available in Car Park B, app-based taxis are located outside Gate 1, car rental counters are in the arrivals hall, buses run around the clock and a valet and limousine service is operated by Hala Bahrain. Complimentary shuttles run between the car parks and the terminal.

That layout matters for a chauffeur booking. Your driver meets you at the point the desk confirms, so you do not have to find a car park by yourself. If you want a name board in arrivals, say so when you book. The airport's own site is the place to check any change to these arrangements: see the Bahrain Airport website.
How the pickup works
Give the desk your flight number, passenger names, number of large bags and your destination. The partner tracks the flight and adjusts for early and late landings.

On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; on domestic arrivals, 30. After a long flight, immigration and baggage reclaim take a variable amount of time, and since the fare is fixed at booking a queue does not change what you pay.
A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board on request. For executives, families and first-time visitors it removes the hunt for a driver in a crowded hall; see the meet and greet service.
Water, phone chargers and Wi-Fi are in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. Alcohol is never promised on board, and Bahraini law applies in the vehicle.
Entry: the eVisa and what to have ready
The airport asks travellers to have their passport and any required visa documents, including e-visas where applicable, ready for immigration. Bahrain's official eVisa website describes itself as the only official site for applying for a Bahrain visa, lists an eVisa application and eligibility check, and warns against third-party sites that offer visa help. It also notes that a fee is not refunded if entry is refused or an application is not approved. Eligibility depends on your nationality, so use the official Bahrain eVisa website and check before you book a ticket.
We do not process visas and we cannot confirm requirements for your passport.
Bahrain airport to Manama, Seef and Sakhir: distances and times
Distances are approximate road figures and drive times assume normal traffic. Bahrain is small, and traffic builds at the school run, at the lunchtime peak and around big events.

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Manama centre | about 10 km (6 mi) | 15 to 30 minutes |
| Seef and Bahrain Bay | about 12 to 18 km (7.5 to 11 mi) | 20 to 40 minutes |
| Diplomatic Area and Juffair | about 12 to 18 km (7.5 to 11 mi) | 20 to 40 minutes |
| Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir | about 35 km (22 mi) | 35 to 60 minutes |
| King Fahd Causeway, Saudi side | about 40 km (25 mi) to the causeway approach | 40 to 70 minutes, plus border formalities |
The booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm. Give the full hotel name and area, since several Manama hotels have near-identical names.
Bahrain International Circuit and Grand Prix weekends
The circuit is at Sakhir, in the desert south of the capital, and its own website describes it as the first track in the Middle East to host a Formula 1 World Championship race, with a first Grand Prix in 2004. The site lists five track layouts and does not give a date for the next Bahrain race on the page we checked, so we do not publish one. Check the official circuit website for the calendar.
On race weekends the roads to Sakhir fill, and the closing minutes of a session create a sudden demand for cars. If you are attending, book the return leg in advance, agree a pickup point away from the main gates, and tell the desk the session you plan to leave after. Large events may carry a different cancellation deadline, which will be stated on your confirmation.
The King Fahd Causeway and onward travel to Saudi Arabia
The King Fahd Causeway links Bahrain to the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and it is roughly 25 km long. Border formalities are carried out on both sides, queues vary widely by day and time, and your visa has to cover the Saudi side. A chauffeur crossing the causeway needs the correct permits for the vehicle and driver, which is not something every booking can offer. If you plan to cross, tell the desk at the time of booking; availability is confirmed at that point and not assumed. For many business travellers it is simpler to fly into Bahrain and arrange the Saudi leg separately, or to fly directly to Riyadh or Jeddah. See the Riyadh airport page and the Jeddah airport page.

Bahrain airport transfer compared with the alternatives
| Option | Typical time to Manama | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public bus | Varies by route | Lowest | Light luggage, patient travellers |
| Bahraini taxi (Car Park B) | 15 to 30 minutes | Metered | Short stays, one or two people |
| App-based taxi (outside Gate 1) | 15 to 30 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Flexible plans |
| Hala Bahrain valet and limousine | 15 to 30 minutes | Quoted by the operator | Travellers who want an airport-run service |
| Rental car | Varies | Variable, plus parking | Visitors who will drive beyond the capital |
| Chauffeur via Enroutz.ca | 15 to 30 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Late arrivals, groups, executives, children |
Because Manama is so close, the lowest-cost options are a genuine choice here: a single traveller with a cabin bag arriving at midday loses little by taking a taxi. A chauffeur is the better answer when you land at night, travel as a family, are carrying equipment or need to be at a meeting soon after arrival, and when you want your return to the airport booked and confirmed in advance. See chauffeur vs rideshare for the longer comparison.
Business travel, delegations and discretion
Bahrain is compact enough that a single vehicle can handle a full day of meetings across Manama, Seef and the Diplomatic Area. Use hourly chauffeur service for as-directed days, and corporate chauffeur accounts for monthly invoicing where an assistant books for a principal. Planners moving delegations should see meetings, incentives and conferences and group transportation: an Executive Sprinter carries up to twelve passengers and twelve bags.
For senior figures and talent the VIP chauffeur service page describes our discretion protocol: alias bookings, NDAs on request, and chauffeurs who do not photograph clients or post about trips. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company: no armed drivers and no bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team.
Courtesy and custom in Bahrain
A few points of courtesy help visitors feel at ease.
- Dress. Dress modestly in public places, with shoulders and knees covered, especially in older neighbourhoods, souqs and mosques. Swimwear belongs at the pool and the beach.
- Alcohol. Alcohol is available in licensed venues only. It is not carried or served in a chauffeur vehicle.
- Ramadan. The month moves each year with the lunar calendar. Be considerate about eating, drinking and smoking in public during daylight hours, and expect shorter working hours and busy evenings.
- Photography. Ask before photographing people, and do not photograph government buildings or security personnel.
- Greetings. A handshake is normal in business. Wait for a woman or an elder to offer a hand first, and use your right hand.
- Working week. Check which days the offices you are visiting are closed before you set your schedule.
Your chauffeur follows your lead on conversation, music and temperature.

The wider Gulf itinerary
Bahrain is a natural stop between Doha, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. The Doha Hamad page and the Dubai DXB page cover neighbouring airports, the Middle East hub lists the rest and the airports hub lists every airport we cover. One desk handles every leg with a single invoice; see how the worldwide network works.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice has no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
