How does black car service work across Ontario?
Enter any Ontario pickup and destination in the online booker, choose a vehicle class and see a fixed fare before payment. The whole province is run from the Toronto desk with Enroutz.ca chauffeurs, flight tracking on airport pickups and one confirmation.
Ontario is the part of Canada that most international visitors see first. Toronto Pearson is the gateway most international visitors use, and the province holds the national capital, the Niagara Peninsula, Toronto's Financial District, the Markham and Waterloo technology regions and the lakes that Ontarians call cottage country. That variety is the reason a black car service in Ontario cannot be one-size-fits-all.
Enroutz.ca's model for Ontario is deliberately simple. The Toronto desk operates the province with its own vehicles and its own licensed, commercially insured chauffeurs. You give the booker a pickup and a destination, it shows the fixed fare for your exact addresses and vehicle, and a single confirmation follows. For long-distance trips, the desk confirms how the vehicle is positioned for your date so there are no surprises on the day.
Ontario's geography in five minutes
Most of what a visitor needs sits in the south of the province, along the shorelines of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. The roads are easier to understand than the map suggests:

- Highway 401 is the spine, crossing southern Ontario from Windsor to the Québec border and carrying the heaviest traffic in the province through the GTA.
- The QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) runs from Toronto around the western end of Lake Ontario through Hamilton to Niagara and the US border.
- Highway 400 runs north from Toronto through Barrie toward Muskoka and Georgian Bay.
- Highway 403 links Mississauga, Oakville and Hamilton.
- Highway 416 joins the 401 to Ottawa.
- Highway 407 ETR is a privately operated electronic toll road across the north of the GTA.
The northern two-thirds of the province is a different world: boreal forest, small towns and very long distances. Enroutz.ca's pages and fare quotes focus on the populated south, where nearly every visitor goes, but the booker will accept an address in the north and the desk will confirm what it can arrange.
Tolls and highways: what visitors should know
Ontario has one major toll road in the GTA, the 407 ETR. Its operator describes it as an all-electronic, open-access highway, 108 km long, running from the QEW to Brock Road, with no toll booths. Trips are billed from a windshield transponder or, without one, by photographing the licence plate, and every trip carries a starting charge. Costs depend on the vehicle, time of day, day of the week, section and direction. For rental-car drivers, the bill goes to the rental company first, which then decides how to pass on tolls and fees. The operator's explanation of how the 407 ETR works covers the details.

The province's own highways further east are different. Tolls were removed from Highways 412 and 418 in Durham Region in 2022 and from the provincially owned stretch of Highway 407 East in 2025, so those routes are free to drive; the privately operated 407 ETR remains tolled. When a chauffeur drives, the route and any toll are the chauffeur's decision and the fare in the booker covers the trip.
The GTA cities around Pearson
The Greater Toronto Area has more than a dozen major municipalities, and most visitors will use four or five. Each has its own page with local detail. Distances below are road distances from Pearson using route-planner figures, and the booker gives the exact timing for your address.

| City | Why visitors go | From Pearson (approx.) | Page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mississauga | Airport business parks, Square One, Port Credit, trade shows | Minutes away; the airport sits on the Toronto-Mississauga boundary | Mississauga |
| Oakville | Lakeside harbours, golf, offices | About 35 km, 26 to 31 minutes | Oakville |
| Vaughan | Canada's Wonderland, Vaughan Mills, subway-linked downtown | Wonderland about 32.5 km, 39 minutes | Vaughan |
| Markham | Technology offices, Unionville, food | About 43.5 km, 33 minutes | Markham |
| Downtown Toronto | Financial District, hotels, venues | About 27 km to Union Station, 30 to 50 minutes | Toronto |
These times assume light traffic. At rush hour the trip between Pearson and Markham or Vaughan can lengthen considerably, which is why the desk sets pickup times from your flight and the traffic expected for that hour, not from a rule of thumb.
Beyond the GTA: where visitors go
Destination Ontario's official site groups the province into regions, and its list of trending destinations includes Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Muskoka, Ottawa, Prince Edward County, Algonquin Park, Stratford and Windsor. See Destination Ontario for the full picture. Here is how Enroutz.ca handles the main ones.

Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. About 122 km from Pearson, usually 75 to 90 minutes. The Falls, the wine region and the Shaw Festival theatre town make it the favourite day trip. Read our dedicated Niagara Falls car service page.
Ottawa. About 450 km from Toronto, 4.5 to 5 hours by road. The capital has its own page: Ottawa car service.
Muskoka. The lake district north of Toronto is reached by Highway 400 and Highway 11. Friday afternoon traffic leaving the city is the main delay in summer. See the Muskoka car service page.
Kitchener-Waterloo. The technology region west of Toronto, with its own regional airport. See Kitchener-Waterloo and the Waterloo airport page.
Prince Edward County, Stratford, Windsor and Algonquin. These are all bookable. Enter the address and the desk confirms the arrangement and fixed fare. Destination Ontario describes Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County as a popular summer beach, and Algonquin Park as lakeside camping country.
Ontario's airports and which one to use
Most international visitors land at Pearson, but it is not the only choice. A short guide:
| Airport | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | International arrivals, most connections | Terminal 1 and Terminal 3; pre-arranged vehicles are directed to Door A in both terminals per the airport's guidance |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) | Downtown Toronto, short-haul business flights | Very close to the Financial District; see Billy Bishop |
| Hamilton (YHM) | Travellers west of Toronto and the Niagara side | See Hamilton airport |
| Waterloo (YKF) | Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph | See Waterloo airport |
| Ottawa (YOW) | Parliament, government and the Ottawa region | See Ottawa airport |
The airports hub lists every airport Enroutz.ca covers worldwide, and our Pearson Airport limo page explains terminals, customs timing and meeting points in detail. For a comparison of all the airports in reach of Toronto, see airport limo Toronto.
Getting around Ontario: an honest comparison
Ontario has real public transport in some corridors, and the best answer depends on where you are going.
| Option | Where it works | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| GO Transit | GTA commuter rail and buses | Lowest | Solo commuters travelling into Toronto |
| VIA Rail | Toronto to Ottawa and Montréal corridor | Varies by fare class | Travellers who want to work or rest and are going station to station |
| Intercity bus | Between most towns | Lowest | Budget travellers with flexible time |
| Rental car | Everywhere, particularly rural areas | Rental cost plus fuel, parking and any 407 ETR tolls | Confident drivers who want independence |
| Taxi and rideshare | In cities | Metered or surge-priced | Short local trips |
| Private chauffeur (Enroutz.ca) | Door to door anywhere in the province | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, executives, families, day trips and long transfers with luggage |
VIA Rail runs between Toronto and Ottawa in roughly 4.5 to 5 hours, according to Ottawa Tourism, about the same as driving. For one person, station to station, it is a good option. A chauffeur is better for groups of two to six, for luggage and for door-to-door pickups where a station is not near your address. Read more at VIA Rail and our city-to-city car service page.
Seasons: when and how Ontario travel changes
Ontario's seasons are strong enough to change travel plans.
Spring. Ottawa's Canadian Tulip Festival is usually in May. In 2026 it ran 8 to 18 May at Commissioners Park, and 2027 dates had not been announced when this page was written. Niagara's falls illumination begins earlier in the evening in winter and later in summer, so the best viewing time moves through the year.
Summer. Friday afternoons are the busiest time on Highway 400 and Highway 11 as Torontonians head to cottage country. Day trips to Niagara are best planned for weekday mornings.
Autumn. Roads are usually clear and the days are shorter. Conventions fill hotels in the city.
Winter. Snow, ice and sudden squalls can slow any journey, and the most exposed stretches are in the snowbelt areas near Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. Dispatch builds in extra time and tracks conditions. Ottawa's Rideau Canal Skateway, which the National Capital Commission describes as a 7.8 km skating route on a UNESCO World Heritage canal, usually opens from January to early March, weather permitting.
If your plans are time-critical in winter, tell the desk your latest acceptable arrival time and it will plan with a margin.
Entering Canada: what to arrange before you fly
Most trips into Ontario start at an international airport, so the practical entry rules are part of planning. The Government of Canada states that visa-exempt foreign nationals flying to Canada need an electronic travel authorization (eTA), that US citizens are exempt, that most applications are approved within minutes, and that if documents are requested an email follows within 72 hours. The fee is CAD $7 as of 2026. Apply only through the official eTA page, because look-alike websites exist.
Our travelling to Toronto guide goes through arrival steps, documents and first-night logistics in more detail.
Crossing to the United States from Ontario
Ontario shares a long border with the United States, and three crossings matter most to visitors: Niagara, Buffalo and Detroit-Windsor. Trips from Ontario to the USA run from Toronto, and trips entirely within the United States are delivered by US-licensed partners, because Canadian vehicles cannot do domestic point-to-point work there. For the border bridges, documents and wait times, see our cross-border car service guide, the Buffalo airport page and the Detroit airport page, and the USA hub for American cities.
Business, conventions and events across Ontario
Ontario's business map includes the Financial District of Toronto, the airport business parks in Mississauga, Markham's technology corridor, Waterloo's technology region and Ottawa's government sector. A visiting executive may touch three of them in one trip.
For repeat travel, corporate accounts give monthly invoicing and cost-centre references, and the corporate chauffeur service page explains how an assistant can book for a principal. For conventions, the events hub and trade shows hub list the major venues and dates, and the meetings, incentives and conferences page explains delegate transport.

Fares, waiting and cancellation
The booker shows an exact fixed fare for your pickup, destination and vehicle before you pay; there are no rate tables on this site. Free waiting after landing is 60 minutes on international arrivals and 30 on domestic arrivals, with 15 minutes on other pickups.
Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup. More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less or a no-show: 100%. Conventions and large events may have a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
Beyond Ontario
Ontario is the home territory of the Toronto desk. For the rest of the country, vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partners deliver the ride, and the desk books, confirms and invoices it as one booking. Start with the Canada hub, or go straight to Québec. For the global picture, see the worldwide chauffeur network.
