Montréal airport limo: one booking from Toronto, a local chauffeur on the ground

Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is the main airport for Québec. It sits in Dorval, on the island of Montréal, west of downtown. For travellers flying in from Toronto, New York, Europe or the Gulf, a montreal airport limo meets you after what is often a long flight and carries you into a city with its own traffic rhythm, its own language and its own ways of closing a road.

This is how Enroutz.ca handles Montréal. The ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, because Montréal is outside our Ontario operating area. The booking, the confirmation and the invoice all come from the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice, one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and up to seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach.

Everything on this page is aimed at the traveller who has never landed at YUL: which door to look for, how the transborder side works, what the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) means for the airport, and how long the real drive takes. For the city itself, see Montréal car service, and for the wider province, the Québec page.

How do you get from Montréal airport to downtown?

Downtown Montréal is roughly 20 km from the airport, and the drive usually takes 25 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Options are a pre-booked chauffeur, a taxi from the arrivals level, a rideshare from the official pick-up doors, or the 24-hour 747 bus.

Third-party sources vary on the exact distance, from 14 to 20 km, because "downtown" can mean the Quartier des spectacles, Old Montréal or Westmount. We use roughly 20 km as a planning figure for the heart of the city. The airport lies at the junction of Highway 20 and Highway 13, so traffic leaving the island toward the south shore or the north shore can back up in the late afternoon.

The booker prices your exact address. A hotel on Sherbrooke Street, a conference at the Palais des congrès and a flat in Griffintown are different drives, and the fare you see is the fare you pay.

Where to meet your driver at YUL

Tourisme Montréal's guide to the airport, updated in March 2026, describes where services operate. Taxis and limousines are staffed at the arrivals level near the central exit, where a dispatcher assists passengers. Rideshare drivers meet passengers at official pick-up areas: Door 20 on the arrivals level, or Door 6 on the second floor of the departures level.

For pre-arranged chauffeur service, your confirmation tells you where the partner will meet you, and the partner stays in contact by phone and messages. Because rules and door assignments change with construction, we do not print a single door number here; the confirmation always has the current instruction. If the partner is holding a name board, it appears at the exit from customs or baggage claim and will carry the name or alias you provided.

A name-board meet and greet can be added to any airport booking. Free waiting time is 60 minutes from landing on an international arrival and 30 minutes on a domestic arrival, and 15 minutes on other pickups. Flight tracking is included, so a late arrival moves the pickup without a call.

The 747 bus runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the arrivals level, according to Tourisme Montréal. Tickets are sold at kiosks or through the Chrono and Transit apps, and the STM publishes the 747 line schedule. Be honest with yourself: if you have one bag, a hotel near a metro station and no deadline, the bus is a perfectly good choice and costs a fraction of a car.

A chauffeur is the better answer when you have more than one bag, a meeting that starts the moment you arrive, a child seat, a group or a late-night landing.

The REM and the airport: what has and has not opened

The REM, the automated light rail network around Montréal, has expanded in stages. Tourisme Montréal says the airport link is under construction and will be completed in 2027, connecting the airport with Central Station in about 20 minutes. The airport station was not open when we wrote this page in October 2026.

That means a traveller landing today should plan on road transport. If you read an article saying the REM links the airport, check the date, and check the operator's own information before relying on it. When the airport station opens, we will update this page; until then, a chauffeur, a taxi or the 747 bus are the real choices.

Terminals, transborder flights and U.S. preclearance

Montréal-Trudeau has a domestic jetty, an international jetty with 18 gates and a transborder jetty with 18 gates for flights to the United States. U.S.-bound passengers pass through the transborder security checkpoint, then U.S. Customs and Border Protection, before reaching their gates. That is U.S. preclearance, and it means passengers arrive in the United States as domestic travellers.

For a chauffeur departure, the preclearance step is why we advise arriving early. For an arrival, it is simpler: the airport is the same on both sides, but the international arrivals hall and customs hall handle passengers from outside Canada. Visitors who need an electronic travel authorization can read the Government of Canada's eTA page before they fly.

The airport's guide recommends arriving three hours before your flight. In the afternoon rush, we also suggest allowing time for the drive to the island, because the motorway approaches to Dorval slow at the same hours as downtown.

French and English service in Montréal

Montréal is a bilingual city, with French the common public language and English widely spoken in business and tourism. Language requests, whether English, French or another language, can be noted when you book, and the desk confirms what can be arranged. We cannot promise a particular language for every ride, but we can confirm availability before you pay.

Road signs are in French, and "Est" is east and "Ouest" is west, which matters if you ever drive yourself.

Montréal destinations from YUL

  • Old Montréal and the Vieux-Port: the cobbled streets near the river, with boutique hotels and restaurants. Vehicles stop on the edge of narrow streets, and the chauffeur chooses the best access point.
  • Downtown and the Golden Square Mile: the Palais des congrès, the Bell Centre and the main hotels. See the Montréal car service page for neighbourhoods and events.
  • Gare Centrale: the central rail station beside the Queen Elizabeth hotel. The Montréal Central Station page covers pickups.
  • The Port of Montréal cruise terminal: see Montréal cruise terminal transfers.
  • Laval, the north shore and the Laurentians: across the Rivière des Prairies and on to ski country.
  • Mont-Tremblant: about 130 km north-west of Montréal according to public references, a little further from the airport. In ski season, allow extra time and tell the desk about skis and snowboards.
  • Québec City: the Québec City airport page and the Québec City car service page cover the next city along the St. Lawrence.

Montréal by season

Winter in Montréal is long and cold, and the city clears snow in a staged system. Roads that are wide on Monday can be narrow on Wednesday when towing and clearing are under way. Leave extra time during and after a storm, and warm clothing for the walk from the terminal door.

Summer is festival season. The Canadian Grand Prix weekend, the jazz festival and large downtown events bring road closures and heavy hotel demand. If your visit coincides with a festival, tell the desk the hotel and event; we choose a drop-off point and an approach route in advance.

Autumn brings conferences and leaf-watching drives to the Laurentians. Spring brings pothole season and construction, and the occasional unannounced lane closure on the motorways. The airport is only 20 km from downtown, but a closure on Highway 20 can double the time.

Corporate and group travel through YUL

Montréal is a major centre for aerospace, finance, video games, pharmaceuticals and universities. Business visitors who fly in from Toronto, New York or Paris often have a single, tightly scheduled day. A corporate account means one monthly invoice covers the Toronto rides, the Montréal rides and any other city. See corporate chauffeur service for cost-centre references, travel-manager booking and duty of care.

Conferences use our meetings, incentives and conferences service for delegate arrivals and venue shuttles. A group of up to twelve moves in an Executive Sprinter; larger groups use mini-coaches on request. For roadshows linking Toronto, Montréal and New York, see roadshow car service.

Vehicles in Montréal

Partner vehicles follow the same classes as the fleet page, "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed at booking. The Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) takes up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. The First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) has the same capacity. The Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) carries up to six with five or six large bags. The Executive Sprinter carries up to twelve. Most vehicles have Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers, and child, toddler and booster seats can be requested.

How to book your Montréal airport limo

  4. Receive the partner chauffeur's details in the confirmation.

Cancellation terms are shown at booking: more than 72 hours' notice no charge; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. See the Canada hub and airports hub for other cities.
