How do you get a chauffeur for the Cannes Film Festival?
Book a pre-arranged car from Nice airport or your hotel before the festival begins. Nice airport is about 30 km from the Palais des Festivals, a drive of 35 to 90 minutes depending on the hour. The booker shows the exact fare for your address before you confirm.
A Cannes Film Festival chauffeur is not a luxury for the few; it is a practical answer to a very small town. Cannes is a compact seaside city with a single main seafront road, the Boulevard de la Croisette, and for twelve days it hosts producers, buyers, talent, press and hospitality guests who all need to reach the same few addresses at the same hours. A car that is already there, and a driver who knows the shortcuts, is what turns a stressful schedule into a manageable one.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based chauffeur service. On the French Riviera, the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, and the Enroutz.ca desk books, confirms and invoices it. You receive one confirmation, one invoice and one contact, available around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
Cannes Film Festival 2027: the dates
The festival's website, festival-cannes.com, lists the 80th edition for 11 to 22 May 2027. The same site shows that the 79th edition took place in May 2026. The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, home of the red carpet, is at 1 Boulevard de la Croisette, 06400 Cannes, according to the city's tourist office, Cannes France.

If your trip is tied to a screening, a market meeting or a dinner, the festival and your accreditation set the times. Our job is to deliver you to the right place a little before them. For accreditation questions, always use the festival's own channels.
How far is Nice airport from Cannes?
Nice Côte d'Azur is the airport for Cannes. It is about 30 km from the Palais by road. On a quiet morning the drive takes 35 to 45 minutes along the A8. During the festival, afternoon arrivals can take an hour and a half. The airport operator's site, nice.aeroport.fr, lists Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, a shuttle between them running about every 15 minutes, a Meet & Greet service, and business-aviation access through Nice, Cannes-Mandelieu and Saint-Tropez.

Other useful distances:
- Cannes-Mandelieu airfield (business jets) to the Palais: about 6 km, usually 15 to 25 minutes.
- Cannes to Antibes and Juan-les-Pins: about 11 km.
- Cannes to Mougins: about 8 km, in the hills above the coast.
- Cannes to Monaco: about 60 km, usually an hour to 90 minutes. For the sports weekend later in the season see our Monaco Grand Prix page.
Our Nice airport page covers terminals and arrival logistics. The Nice and Monaco chauffeur service page covers the wider coast.
Arriving at Nice: a calm first hour
Most festival guests land in Nice, often from a connecting flight. With Enroutz.ca:

- Your flight is tracked, so a late arrival moves the pickup automatically.
- International arrivals receive 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; domestic, 30.
- The chauffeur messages you before you land with the vehicle and the meeting point.
- A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias name on the board if you prefer to keep your identity private.
- Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers are in most vehicles.
France is six hours ahead of Toronto in May. Most itineraries from Toronto connect, so arrival times at Nice vary through the day. If your flight lands at the same time as several other festival arrivals, a name-board greeter helps because the arrivals hall fills quickly.
The real options for getting around

| Option | Typical time Nice airport to Cannes | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regional train (TER) from Nice | About 30 to 45 minutes from Nice-Ville, plus the link from the airport | Lowest | Light luggage, flexible timing |
| Airport bus | Around an hour in festival traffic | Low | Budget travellers with time |
| Taxi | 35 to 90 minutes depending on traffic | Metered | Unplanned trips; queues at the rank during the festival |
| Rideshare | Similar to taxi; drop-offs on the seafront can be restricted | Surge-priced | Flexible trips when a wait is acceptable |
| Hotel shuttle | Depends on the hotel | Sometimes included | Guests of larger hotels |
| Rental car | Parking in Cannes is limited and expensive in festival weeks | Daily rate plus parking | Guests staying outside Cannes, in the hills |
| Private chauffeur | Door to door, no queue | Fixed fare via booker | Fixed schedules, talent, groups, late returns |
If you are staying in the centre of Cannes, walking is often the fastest way to cover the last kilometre, and the regional train from Nice is the low-cost choice for the airport leg. A chauffeur earns its place on arrival with luggage, on evening events in formal dress, on trips to villas and yachts outside the centre, and on any day when being late would cost you a meeting.
Moving around Cannes during the festival
Expect temporary traffic measures around the Palais and along the Croisette. Their exact form changes from year to year and is set by the local authorities and the festival, so we do not publish a map of closures here. What we can say is that the chauffeur works from the current local plan and chooses the drop-off point accordingly. Tell the desk if you need to arrive on the red carpet side, because arrival procedures there follow the festival's own rules and your accreditation.
Practical advice from a dispatcher's point of view:
- Do not plan tight transfers across Cannes at the hours when screenings end. The streets fill with people in evening dress.
- For formal evenings, ask for the pickup to be at a quiet side street near your hotel, not at the main entrance.
- For a day of meetings between hotels, book by the hour. The chauffeur stays with you, and a short wait costs you nothing in delays. See hourly chauffeur service.
- Leave extra time on the coast road in the late afternoon, when the A8 and the old Route Nationale are at their busiest.
Talent, publicists and tour managers
Festival guests with public profiles need a car that does not draw attention. The standard practice is an alias on the booking, a vehicle with no branding, and a chauffeur who does not photograph clients, post about trips or discuss who they have driven. NDAs are signed on request. Publicists and tour managers can book on behalf of a principal and receive the confirmation and the invoice.
The First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) carries up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags, and a Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) carries up to six with five to six large bags. Maybach, Rolls-Royce and stretch limousine are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Where a principal has a security team, the chauffeur works alongside it; Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company. See VIP and celebrity chauffeur for the discretion protocol in full.
Producers, buyers and delegations
The film market that runs alongside the festival brings buyers, sales agents and financiers who spend the day in meetings. They need reliability more than ceremony. For companies sending several people, a corporate account gives monthly invoicing and cost-centre references, and the corporate chauffeur service page explains how an assistant can book on behalf of a team.
Groups of up to twelve fit an Executive Sprinter, and mini-coaches and coaches (20 to 56 seats) are available on request. See group transportation and event transportation. For large events, the cancellation deadline can differ from our standard policy; any difference is stated on your confirmation.
Evenings: parties, villas and yachts
A large share of festival business happens after the screenings, at dinners in the hills, parties at villas and receptions on yachts in the harbour. These venues are often some distance from the centre, on narrow roads with limited parking. Give the desk the full address, the name of the host and the time, and the dispatcher plans the pickup and the return. Local law applies to alcohol, and no drinks are promised on board.
Returns after midnight are where taxi demand outstrips supply. A booked car, waiting and tracked, is the more dependable choice.
By private jet or helicopter
Business aviation is part of the festival. Nice and Cannes-Mandelieu both appear on the Nice airport operator's list of business-aviation access points. If you arrive by private aircraft, the chauffeur meets you at the terminal once you have cleared its formalities. Read the Nice Côte d'Azur business aviation page and the private aviation hub for how that works.
Flying in from Toronto and beyond
For visitors from Canada, the festival often follows another trip: TIFF in September, or a film market earlier in the year. Our TIFF page explains the Toronto side. Entry requirements depend on your passport. Check the current French and Schengen rules with your airline and the official government site before you travel. For other European cities on the same trip, the Europe hub lists every city we cover, and the events hub lists the other events.
How booking works
Open the booker, enter any pickup in the world, and add the destination, date and time. The desk confirms a fixed quote for the exact addresses and vehicle before you pay. Vehicle classes are "or similar", and the model is confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
When is the Cannes Film Festival 2027?
The festival lists its 80th edition for 11 to 22 May 2027. The 79th edition took place in May 2026. Check festival-cannes.com for the official programme.
Which airport do I use for Cannes?
Nice Côte d'Azur, about 30 km from the Palais des Festivals. Business jets can also use Cannes-Mandelieu, a few kilometres from the centre, which the Nice airport operator lists among its business-aviation access points.
How long does it take to drive from Nice airport to Cannes during the festival?
About 35 to 45 minutes in quiet traffic, and 60 to 90 minutes at busy times. The chauffeur tracks the live traffic on the day and sets the departure time accordingly.
Can a chauffeur take me to the red carpet?
Arrival procedures at the red carpet follow the festival's own rules and your accreditation. The chauffeur takes you to the drop-off point the festival permits and coordinates the pickup afterwards.
Can I book under an alias?
Yes. Bookings can be made under an alias, and the meet-and-greet board can carry an alias name too. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request.
Is there a train from Nice to Cannes?
Yes, a regional train runs along the coast. It is the lowest-cost option and works well for light luggage. A chauffeur is better for luggage, evening events and fixed schedules.
What vehicles can I choose?
Executive Sedan, First Class Sedan, Luxury SUV and Executive Sprinter, with Maybach, Rolls-Royce and stretch limousine on request. Classes are "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed at booking.
Can the chauffeur wait outside a screening or dinner?
Yes. For a long wait or several stops, book by the hour so the same chauffeur stays with you. A one-way transfer includes 15 minutes of waiting on non-airport pickups.
Do you own vehicles on the Riviera?
No. On the Riviera the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed, commercially insured local partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto.
