Chauffeur service Milan: built around the city's calendar

Milan is the Italian city where a business trip is usually tied to a fixed date. A runway show, a furniture fair, a boardroom meeting in Porta Nuova, a flight from Linate that closes early. A chauffeur service in Milan has to treat those dates as the centre of the plan, not an afterthought, because the city's airports, fairgrounds and fashion districts are spread out and the roads between them fill quickly.

Enroutz.ca takes bookings for Milan from the Toronto desk and hands the driving to a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner. You get one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and a single contact available at any hour. The partner drives; we book, confirm and invoice. We do not own vehicles or offices in Italy.

Milan has three airports. Malpensa (MXP) is about 50 km north-west of the centre and takes the long-haul flights; Linate (LIN) is only about 7 km east of the Duomo; Bergamo (BGY) is roughly 50 km east. Road times run from 15 minutes to over an hour.

Malpensa (MXP) is the intercontinental airport, and the operator SEA runs it with Linate; the company's corporate site is at milanairports.com. It has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and your airline decides which. The drive to central Milan is about 50 km (31 miles) and takes 45 to 70 minutes, depending on the A8 motorway and the approach through the north-west suburbs. A dedicated rail link, the Malpensa Express, also serves the airport. See our Milan Malpensa airport page for pickup detail.

Linate (LIN) is the city airport, about 7 km (4 miles) from the Duomo, a drive of 15 to 30 minutes. It handles European and domestic flights, so many clients meet it on a flight from Zurich, Paris or London rather than from Toronto.

Bergamo (BGY), about 50 km (31 miles) east of Milan, 50 to 75 minutes by road, is used by low-cost carriers. A chauffeur is worth considering here for early flights and late arrivals, when a fixed pickup time matters most.

All airport pickups include flight tracking. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, 30 minutes for domestic arrivals, and 15 minutes on other pickups.

Malpensa to Milan compared

An honest answer starts with the train, because it is good.

If you are alone, light on luggage and staying near Milano Centrale or Cadorna, the Malpensa Express is the right call and a chauffeur is not needed. The picture changes if you land late, if the hotel is outside the rail corridor, or if you are carrying samples, garment bags or presentation equipment. In those cases the car saves two changes of transport and a walk.

Fashion Week in Milan: dates and driving

Milan's womenswear fashion week is organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, and the next dates on its website are as follows. The women's Spring/Summer 2027 week took place on 22 to 28 September 2026. The autumn/winter 2027/28 women's collection runs from 23 February to 1 March 2027, and men's autumn/winter 2027/28 from 15 to 19 January 2027. Men's spring/summer 2028 follows from 18 to 22 June 2027, and the next women's spring/summer week from 21 to 27 September 2027. Check the official CNMI calendar because schedules can move.

During those weeks, a car works best by the hour, with a driver who understands the sequence: showroom, runway, appointment, dinner. Venues are scattered, from the Quadrilatero della Moda around Via Montenapoleone to converted industrial spaces in the south. The streets of the fashion district are narrow, and a vehicle that cannot stop has to circle. A chauffeur coordinates drop-offs with the venue's own security and leaves your team to walk the last stretch when a street is closed.

For discretion, chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. See VIP and celebrity chauffeur service and hourly chauffeur hire.

Salone del Mobile and Fiera Milano Rho

The Salone del Mobile.Milano is Milan's flagship furniture and design fair, and its next edition runs from 13 to 18 April 2027 at Fiera Milano in Rho, according to the organiser's official site. The 2027 edition is billed as the 65th and brings back Euroluce, the biennial lighting exhibition. Dates for the city-wide design week that surrounds the fair are published separately and some listings differ by a day, so rely on the organiser.

Fiera Milano Rho is about 15 km (9 miles) north-west of the Duomo, 25 to 45 minutes on an ordinary day. It sits beside the Malpensa motorway, which makes it quick from Malpensa, about 40 km (25 miles) and 35 to 50 minutes. During the fair, the roads around Rho are heavily congested in the morning and late afternoon, and the exhibition's own entrances have separate gates for cars and taxis. A chauffeur who works the fair every year knows which gate to use. Plan to leave the fairground before the 6 pm exodus if you can.

Beyond the Salone, Fiera Milano hosts many trade fairs throughout the year, and the same logic applies. See event transportation, trade show transportation and roadshow car service for delegations and multi-day programmes.

Moving around the centre: Area C, Area B and the Duomo

Milan restricts cars in two ways. Area C is a charging zone in the historic centre, inside the old bastions, and Area B is a wider low-emission zone. Both are enforced by cameras. Local operators handle these requirements as part of ordinary business, and a vehicle no more than four years old is normally in the compliant categories, but we do not state the hours or charges here because they are set by the city and change.

The geography is simple: a ring-and-radial layout, with the Duomo at the centre, the fashion quarter to the north-east, the financial district at Porta Nuova to the north, and the Navigli canals to the south-west. A chauffeur is the practical choice for a day that crosses several of these districts, because taxis are scarce at peak times and parking is nearly impossible.

Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and other day trips

The lakes are the most requested trips from Milan. Como, on the southern shore of Lake Como, is about 50 km (31 miles) north and takes roughly an hour by road. Bellagio is about 80 km (50 miles) from Milan and about 1 hour 45 minutes, and the road around the lake is narrow. Lake Maggiore, near Stresa, is about 85 km (53 miles), around an hour from Malpensa. The lake roads fill on summer weekends, and a late afternoon return is slower than the outbound.

A chauffeur can combine the lake with a hotel stay or a wedding, and can wait at the quay while you take a ferry. See wedding chauffeur and private tours with driver. Longer transfers are also available: Milan to Venice is about 270 km (168 miles) and three hours, and Milan to Zurich about 280 km (174 miles), which our Zurich chauffeur service page covers on the Swiss side. If your trip continues to the Riviera, see the Nice and Monaco chauffeur service, and for the capital, the Rome chauffeur service.

A working day in Milan: Linate, Porta Nuova and the evening

Many executive trips to Milan are one-day affairs: fly in, meet, fly out. The pattern that works is a morning arrival at Linate, a short hop to Porta Nuova or the Duomo district, and a late-afternoon return with a buffer for Linate's security queue. Linate is close enough that the drive is never the problem, so the chauffeur's value on a day like this is the waiting car outside each appointment and the guarantee that you are not looking for a taxi at 5 pm when every office empties at once.

For a longer stay, the evening needs its own plan. Dinner in Brera or on the Navigli canals is a short drive from most hotels, but the ring roads are slow after a show or a match at San Siro, in the west of the city. Tell the desk about the venue and the finish time, and the return pickup is scheduled around the crowd. An hourly booking can cover the whole day, with the car on standby between commitments. Our airports hub lists every airport we serve if your trip also touches another city.

Milano Centrale and the rail corridor

Milano Centrale is the main railway station, a short drive north-east of the Duomo, and high-speed trains link it to Turin, Venice, Florence, Rome and Naples. Chauffeurs are often booked for the first or last leg of a rail journey, because the station forecourt is busy and a pre-arranged pickup point saves you a long walk with bags. If you are arriving by train and heading to a lake, a fair or a meeting, the car waits where the rules allow and the driver helps with luggage.

Vehicles for Milan

The Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar) carries up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. The First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) suits executives and guests. The Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) seats up to six with five or six large bags, which is the practical choice for a team with sample cases. The Executive Sprinter seats up to 12. Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Browse the fleet.

Water, Wi-Fi and phone chargers are available in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. We never promise alcohol on board, because local law applies.
