Fairmont Royal York airport transfer: the short answer
The Fairmont Royal York stands at 100 Front Street West, Toronto, directly across the street from Union Station, according to the hotel's own website. For anyone arriving from the airport, the sensible shape of the journey is a fairmont royal york airport transfer that ends at the hotel door, with luggage handled by someone else. This page explains how that works, how it compares with the train and the hotel's own shuttle, and what to expect when you arrive.
Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service with its home desk in Toronto. Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario are operated from the Toronto desk with the Enroutz.ca fleet and chauffeurs, so this is a ride we run ourselves, not one passed to a third party. The fare is fixed and quoted before you pay, and the desk answers around the clock.
How far is Pearson from the Fairmont Royal York, and how long does the drive take?

Toronto Pearson is about 27 km from the hotel, and the drive usually takes 30–50 minutes, depending on the hour and the traffic on the 427, the Gardiner Expressway and the 401. The online booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm.
Those figures are approximate. The airport lies north-west of the city, and the downtown core sits on the shore of Lake Ontario, which means the route usually joins one of the major expressways before dropping into the grid of streets near Union Station. At the morning peak, and again in the late afternoon, the same trip can take noticeably longer. On a quiet weekend morning, it can be shorter. If you have a fixed appointment, build in a margin and tell the desk about it.
About the hotel
The hotel describes itself as a stately landmark since its opening in 1929. Its website lists "Premier Event Spaces" among its highlights and describes the property as Eco-certified; it also refers to award-winning dining, without naming a particular award on the page we read. It does not publish a room count on the page we checked, so we do not give one. The hotel is directly across the street from Union Station, which makes it unusually convenient for rail and airport arrivals, and the city's convention district, arena and tower attractions are within a short distance.

Approximate walking distances from the hotel, for orientation:
- Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Front Street West: about 500 metres.
- Scotiabank Arena and the Rogers Centre: about 600–700 metres.
- The CN Tower: about 600 metres.
- The financial towers of Bay Street: a short walk north.
Pickup at Pearson and the arrival at the hotel
Every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so a delayed landing is not your problem. On international arrivals, 60 minutes of waiting is included from the time of landing, and on domestic arrivals, 30 minutes. A name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals can be added at booking, with an alias on the board for privacy if you wish.

Pearson has two terminals in regular passenger use, and the pickup arrangement for your terminal and airline is confirmed in your booking and repeated by message before you land. The airport authority's own pages describe its ground-transportation rules, and they change; we confirm the current arrangement rather than printing a door number here.
The sequence is simple:
- You enter your flight number and the hotel address in the booker.
- The chauffeur tracks the flight and is at the arranged point when you clear customs.
- Luggage goes into the vehicle and you travel directly to 100 Front Street West.
- At the hotel, your chauffeur uses the arrangement that suits the vehicle (see the next section) and, on request, helps you to the entrance.
Arriving at the door: valet, vehicle height and the street
The hotel's location page says valet parking is at its east entrance for vehicles up to 6'4" (about 1.93 m), and that it has five EV charging stations. That height limit matters if you are travelling in a tall vehicle. Luxury SUVs and Sprinter vans may exceed it, and in that case the practical solution is a street-level drop-off in front of the hotel, with the hotel's staff handling your bags from there. Your chauffeur coordinates the arrival point with the hotel before you arrive. The hotel sets its own parking charges, and they appear on its site; they are separate from your fare.

Fairmont Royal York compared with the other ways to reach the hotel
Because the hotel sits opposite the city's main rail station, the alternatives are better than at most downtown addresses. This table is an honest comparison.
| Option | Typical time from Pearson | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express train | About 25–28 minutes to Union Station, then a short crossing of Front Street | Fixed public fare | Solo travellers with light bags; the quickest option at rush hour |
| TTC subway or bus | Longer, with transfers | Lowest | Budget travellers with light luggage |
| Taxi | About 30–50 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous arrivals |
| App rideshare | About 30–50 minutes plus pickup wait | Surge-priced at peak | Flexible plans without a fixed schedule |
| Hotel shuttle | Billy Bishop only | Complimentary | Passengers arriving at Billy Bishop |
| Rental car | About 30–50 minutes | Daily rate plus parking | Travellers continuing beyond the city |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | About 30–50 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Groups, families, heavy luggage and tight schedules |
The hotel's website says the UP Express reaches Union Station in just 25 minutes, and the train operator's own page gives 28 minutes from Pearson to downtown. Whichever figure you choose, the train is often the fastest way to the hotel at the busiest times, and it is a very good option if you have a light bag. A chauffeur is the better answer for families, groups of three or more, heavy luggage, late-night arrivals and any day when a missed connection would be costly.
Billy Bishop and the hotel's own shuttle
The hotel's location page says a complimentary shuttle bus runs between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and the hotel every 15 minutes. That is a useful service, and if your flight lands at Billy Bishop, you may want to use it. For a private car from the island airport, the distance is only about 3 km, and the drive usually takes 10–20 minutes. See our guide to Billy Bishop airport for how the airport works.
Meetings, conventions and events
The hotel advertises premier event spaces, and its downtown position makes it a natural base for conferences. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is about 500 metres away, and the InterContinental Toronto Centre is another hotel connected with that district. For delegations, ask about meetings, incentives and conferences transport, which covers delegate arrivals, venue shuttles and dispatch on site. Executive assistants can book for principals through corporate chauffeur service.

What a first-time visitor should know about Toronto
Toronto is a large, car-oriented metropolitan region whose downtown is compact and walkable. The downtown core near Union Station is at the foot of the city's grid, with Lake Ontario to the south. The Gardiner Expressway runs along the southern edge, the Don Valley Parkway enters from the north-east, and Highway 401 crosses the region from east to west. In winter, snow and ice add time. In summer, roadworks and events at nearby stadiums can close streets.
If you arrive from abroad, our guides to travelling to Toronto and the Toronto airport transfer explain entry basics, baggage and first-night logistics. The Pearson airport page covers the airport itself, and the black car service in Toronto page covers the wider service.

Service standards and cancellation
Chauffeurs and vehicles are licensed and commercially insured. The fare is fixed and quoted before you pay. Corporate accounts come with monthly invoicing. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company; we work alongside a client's own security team.
Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge, 72 hours or less 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on your confirmation.
Official sources and related pages
The hotel's own pages are the best source for current facilities: Fairmont Royal York and its location and parking page. Train times and stations are on the UP Express site, and the Toronto Transit Commission publishes subway service alerts. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre lists its upcoming events.

Frequently asked questions
How much time should I allow from Pearson to the Fairmont Royal York?
Allow 30–50 minutes by road for the roughly 27 km, and more at rush hour. Customs and baggage reclaim at Pearson add time on international arrivals. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, and 60 minutes of waiting is included on international arrivals from the time of landing.
Is the UP Express faster than a car to the hotel?
Often, yes, particularly at rush hour. The hotel says the train reaches Union Station in 25 minutes, and the operator's site says 28 minutes. Union Station is directly across the street from the hotel. A chauffeur is better with heavy luggage, groups and late-night arrivals.
Can a chauffeur drop me at the hotel door?
Yes. The hotel's valet entrance is on the east side and has a height limit of 6'4" (about 1.93 m) for vehicles, so tall SUVs and vans normally use a street-level drop-off arranged with the hotel. Your chauffeur coordinates the arrival and helps with luggage on request.
Does the hotel have an airport shuttle?
The hotel's website describes a complimentary shuttle between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and the hotel every 15 minutes. It does not describe one from Pearson, where the UP Express train or a private chauffeur are the usual choices.
How do I book a Fairmont Royal York airport transfer?
Enter your flight number, date and the hotel address in the online booker. The desk confirms a fixed fare, the vehicle class and the chauffeur's details in writing. You receive one invoice, and the same desk handles any change to your plans.
Is Enroutz.ca a Toronto company?
Our home desk is in Toronto. Rides in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario are operated from that desk with the Enroutz.ca fleet and chauffeurs. Elsewhere, rides are delivered by vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partners, booked and invoiced by the Toronto desk.
Can I arrange transport for a group staying at the hotel?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, and mini-coaches and coaches of 20–56 seats can be requested. For a conference group, ask about delegate arrivals and venue shuttles, and give the desk your arrival schedule.
Can I get a car to Niagara Falls from the hotel?
Yes. Niagara Falls is about 130 km from downtown Toronto, and the drive usually takes 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic on the QEW. You can book a one-way transfer or an hourly chauffeur for the day, and see our Niagara Falls car service page.
What if my flight is delayed?
The chauffeur follows the flight, so a delay does not change the meeting. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting from landing, and domestic arrivals 30 minutes. Tell the desk about any major change and it adjusts the pickup.
