Black car service Miami: arranged in Toronto, delivered on the ground
Miami's busiest months run from late autumn to spring, when the airport, the cruise port and the Beach hotels are all full at once. A black car service in Miami has to cope with all three. The booking is placed with the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured Miami chauffeur partner delivers the ride, and the desk confirms it, follows your flight and issues one invoice.
You can book a car for the whole stay in one go: airport arrival, an evening in Brickell, a day on the Beach, a cruise embarkation and the return to the airport. Get an instant fare to see the fixed fare for your own pickup and drop-off before you commit.
Which airport should I use for Miami: MIA or Fort Lauderdale?

Miami International (MIA) is the closest to Miami, Brickell and PortMiami. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) is about 45 km north and often has competitive flights from Toronto. Your chauffeur meets you at either one, tracks the flight, and drives to the exact address, so the better airport is the one with the better flight.
MIA is about 11 km (7 miles) from Brickell, about 15 km (9 miles) from PortMiami and roughly 20 km (12 miles) from South Beach. Off-peak the drives take 15 to 30 minutes. At rush hour on the Dolphin Expressway, the Airport Expressway or the causeways to the Beach, expect 40 to 60. See Miami airport.
FLL is about 45 km (28 miles) from MIA and roughly 50 km (31 miles) from South Beach, usually 45 to 75 minutes by road on I-95. The airport sits only about 5 km from Port Everglades, so cruise passengers on that side often choose it. See Port Everglades.
Toronto to Miami is about three hours in the air. If you clear U.S. inspection at Pearson before boarding, which CBP's preclearance programme provides, you land in Miami as a domestic arrival with no immigration hall.
The airports hub lists all the airports we cover.
Airport car service Miami: what the pickup looks like at MIA
MIA's own ground transportation page sets out taxis, rideshare and cruise-line shuttles. Taxi and ride-app pickup zones are on the arrival (ground) level, and pre-arranged cruise-line transport leaves from the North bus station in Concourse D, level 1, or the South bus station in Concourse J. See the MIA ground transportation page. The page does not set out a specific location for pre-arranged private cars, so we do not guess at it. Your Enroutz.ca confirmation names the door or the baggage-claim meeting point for your terminal.

How a typical arrival runs:
- Your chauffeur tracks your flight from the moment it leaves and positions the car for your actual landing time.
- You clear immigration if you are arriving from outside the USA, collect your bags and follow the meeting point in your confirmation.
- If you added meet and greet, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, which can carry an alias for privacy.
- Free waiting is 60 minutes after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals.
Cruise transfers: PortMiami and Port Everglades
PortMiami calls itself the Cruise Capital of the World and connects to the highway network by a dedicated toll-free tunnel, according to the PortMiami website. Most cruise lines offer shuttles from the airport, and the port has terminals on both its north and south sides, so check your boarding pass for the right entrance.

A private transfer helps on embarkation day when you have heavy luggage, a family or a shore-excursion plan, or when your flight lands before the cruise line's shuttle window opens. Allow for the cruise line's embarkation timings and do not arrive early at the pier. Details are on our PortMiami page and the cruise ports hub. Travellers connecting at Orlando for Port Canaveral will find that on the Orlando car service page.
South Beach, Miami Beach and Brickell
Miami is a set of islands, causeways and neighbourhoods rather than one city centre.

- Brickell is the financial district, with high-rise offices, condominium hotels and restaurants. It is the closest area to MIA, about 11 km (7 miles).
- Downtown and Wynwood sit north of the Miami River. Wynwood is known for galleries and murals.
- South Beach is on Miami Beach, reached by the MacArthur, Venetian or Julia Tuttle causeways. On a Saturday night, the bridge back from the Beach can be slow, and a chauffeur chooses the causeway that is moving.
- Mid-Beach and Bal Harbour have larger resort hotels, including Collins Avenue. See Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
Hotels on Collins Avenue have small forecourts and heavy traffic at check-in time, so the driver's task is often to find a gap and be ready. The hotels hub lists the others we cover.
Honest comparison: MIA to South Beach or Brickell
| Mode | Likely time | Cost level | Works for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metrorail (via the MIA Mover and Rental Car Center) | 45 to 75 minutes with connections | Lowest | Light luggage, central destination |
| Taxi from the rank | 25 to 60 minutes | Metered | Solo, no booking |
| Ride-hailing | Road time after the app finds a car | Subject to surge | Quick bookings |
| Hotel shuttle | 45 to 90 minutes with stops | Often lowest | Airport hotel, early flight |
| Rental car | 30 to 60 minutes plus the counter | Variable, plus parking | Road trips to the Keys and Orlando |
| Private chauffeur | 20 to 60 minutes, no queue | Fixed fare via booker | Family, luggage, late flight, VIP arrival |
Public transport in Miami is slower than in Toronto, and a car is the default for most visitors. A rental car makes sense if you plan to drive to the Keys, Palm Beach or Orlando. It makes less sense on a Beach stay where parking at hotels is a recurring cost and a nuisance. For a closer comparison, read chauffeur versus rideshare.
Art Basel Miami Beach and the winter season
Art Basel Miami Beach takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive. The official page shows 4 to 6 December 2026 for the fair, and the convention centre's own events listing runs from 2 to 6 December, covering the preview days. See the Art Basel Miami Beach page and the convention centre listing.
Art week brings private views, dinners and satellite fairs to the whole of Miami Beach, Wynwood and the Design District. Roads around the convention centre and Lincoln Road are congested, and drop-off points move between days. Book early, particularly if you need a group or a Sprinter. Our dedicated Art Basel Miami transportation page covers the week in more detail, and the events hub lists the rest of the year.
From December to April the weather is mild, hotels are full and traffic is heavy on every causeway. Hurricane season runs from June to November, and afternoon storms can flood low streets quickly. A chauffeur will adjust the route if a street is under water.
A sample Miami week, planned as one booking
The easiest way to see the value of a single booking is to lay out a realistic trip.
- Arrival, Tuesday evening: fly Toronto to MIA, chauffeur at arrivals, drive to a Brickell hotel, about 11 km and 15 to 30 minutes.
- Wednesday: a client breakfast in Brickell, a three-hour hourly booking for meetings in Downtown and the Design District, and a dinner pickup in Wynwood.
- Thursday: a morning transfer to the Beach for a conference or a fair, a waiting car at the convention centre and an evening return.
- Saturday: a family day trip to Fort Lauderdale, then back across the causeway for dinner.
- Sunday: MIA departure, with the pickup time set by the desk to allow for your terminal and the traffic.
Each leg is quoted in the booker, and the desk can link them under one reference so the invoice is easy to reconcile. Corporate teams can use corporate accounts for monthly invoicing and cost-centre references.
Heat, rain and timing
Miami heat and humidity are strong enough that a ten-minute wait at the kerb is uncomfortable. The practical advice is simple: message the desk when you are leaving the room or the restaurant rather than standing outside, and let the chauffeur bring the car to the door. In the wet season, short heavy storms can empty the streets and flood low junctions within minutes. If conditions are poor, the desk will tell you if the pickup point has moved.
Private jets at Opa-locka and the Miami VIP arrival
Miami is a major private aviation market. Opa-locka Executive Airport and other FBOs serve business jets, and a chauffeur meets the aircraft on the ramp or at the FBO door according to that FBO's access rules. See Opa-locka and the private aviation hub.
For celebrity, athlete or executive arrivals, discretion matters as much as speed. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, NDAs are signed on request, and the desk can arrange a back-entrance arrival coordinated with the venue. See VIP chauffeur service. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service, not a security company: there are no armed drivers and no bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team.
Weddings, groups and day trips
Miami is a destination for weddings, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and corporate incentives. A bridal car, guest shuttles from the airport to the Beach and a Sprinter for the wedding party are covered under wedding chauffeur and group transportation.
Day trips from Miami include:
- Fort Lauderdale and Las Olas, about 45 km (28 miles), 45 to 75 minutes.
- Palm Beach, about 110 km (68 miles), around 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Key West, about 260 km (160 miles), around four hours along the Overseas Highway.
- Orlando, about 380 km (235 miles), around 3.5 hours on the Florida Turnpike.
For long days with several stops, an hourly chauffeur keeps the car and the luggage together.
Vehicles for Miami
Cruise luggage and golf bags decide the vehicle in Miami. A couple with two large cases fits the Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) or the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar): three passengers, two large and two cabin bags in either. A family of five with cruise bags needs the Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar), up to six passengers and five to six large bags. Wedding parties and incentive groups use the Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) for up to twelve.
Coaches of 20 to 56 seats, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousines and armoured vehicles are on request, availability confirmed at booking. All models are "or similar", named on your confirmation. Most vehicles have Wi-Fi, cold water and phone chargers; child, toddler and booster seats are requested when you book. The full list is on the fleet page.
Planning more of Florida or the east coast? The USA hub shows the whole network, and Orlando is the usual second stop from Miami.
Booking and cancellation
Cancelling more than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup is free. From 72 hours the charge is 10%, from 48 hours 50%, and from 24 hours, or for a no-show, 100%. Large events and conventions, including Art Basel week, may use another deadline, which is printed on the confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I book a black car service in Miami from Canada?
Enter the Miami pickup in the online booker and choose a vehicle. The Toronto desk issues the confirmation, then a licensed local chauffeur partner drives.
How far is MIA from South Beach?
About 20 km (12 miles). Allow 25 to 45 minutes off-peak and an hour or more at busy times on the causeways.
How far is MIA from PortMiami?
About 15 km (9 miles), usually 20 to 40 minutes. Check your cruise line's boarding window before leaving the airport.
Is Fort Lauderdale a better airport for me?
Fort Lauderdale is about 45 km (28 miles) from MIA. It suits Port Everglades or a Fort Lauderdale hotel; for Miami and Miami Beach, MIA is closer.
Is my flight monitored?
Yes. The desk follows each airport pickup, and free waiting begins at touchdown: 60 minutes after an international arrival and 30 after a domestic one.
Can a driver be waiting inside arrivals?
Yes, with the meet and greet add-on. The chauffeur stands with a name board, using an alias if you prefer. Without it, the confirmation gives the meeting point.
Is a chauffeur better than a rental car in Miami?
On a Beach stay, usually, because hotel parking adds cost and effort. For a drive to the Keys or Orlando, a rental can make more sense.
What does a Miami chauffeur cost?
There is no rate card. The booker states one all-in fare for your addresses and vehicle before you pay.
Are the cars yours?
No. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner supplies the vehicle, no more than four model years old (seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach), and the Toronto desk books, confirms and invoices the trip.
