Miami has an airline airport that handles tens of millions of passengers and a business-aviation airport that does not feel like it belongs to the same city. Opa-locka Executive Airport (OPF) is the second one. If your aircraft is landing there, you need an Opa-locka FBO car service that knows where the FBOs are, how long the drive to the beach actually takes, and what to do when the aircraft is early.
This page covers OPF and the Miami-area general-aviation picture, the one FBO whose own website confirms its facilities, the drive times to the places private passengers actually go, and how to book through the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto.
What does an Opa-locka FBO car service actually do?
It puts a licensed chauffeur at the right FBO when your aircraft arrives, tracks the landing, handles the bags, and drives you to the address you gave. With Enroutz.ca the fare is fixed and shown in the booker before you pay, and a US-licensed local partner delivers the ride.
The difference from a normal car booking is the pickup point. There is no arrivals hall with a numbered door. There is a handler, a terminal building, a car park or ramp-side access that varies by operator, and a time of arrival that depends on a crew and a slot. We build the booking around those facts: the operator or handler, the aircraft registration, the planned landing time, passenger names and the bags.
Inside the United States, rides are delivered by US-licensed partners, because Canadian-plated vehicles cannot do domestic point-to-point work in the US. Cross-border trips from Toronto to the US run from Toronto. The Enroutz.ca desk books, confirms and invoices every leg, so you hold one confirmation and one invoice and have one contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, with Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
About Opa-locka Executive Airport
According to Miami-Dade County's general aviation airports page, Opa-locka Executive Airport lies 7 miles north of Miami International Airport and 12 miles north-west of the city centre. It is the largest of the county's five general-aviation airports, it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it handles private, pleasure and business flights as a reliever airport for MIA.

For you, that means a few practical things. Being a reliever airport means the airline traffic at MIA stays away from your aircraft. Being open around the clock means a late arrival is routine, not a special request. And being north-west of the centre means the drive south and east to the beaches and the financial district is a real drive, not a hop. The county page also describes Miami Executive Airport (TMB), south of the city, and a smaller general-aviation field near Homestead; those are the better choice if your destination is the Keys, the Everglades or south Miami-Dade.
The FBO whose own site confirms its facilities
Several operators work at Opa-locka, and your charter documents will say which one you are using. One has published enough on its own site to quote. Signature Aviation's Opa-locka location page gives the address as 15001 NW 42nd Avenue, Opa-Locka, Florida 33054, describes it as about 13 miles north of Downtown Miami, and says it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The same page lists onsite customs and immigration, 24-hour surveillance, secure ramp access, conference rooms, a snooze room, concierge services, car rentals and limousine service, agricultural clearance and an onsite restaurant. It does not publish customs hours, so treat the customs line as a service that exists, and confirm timing for your arrival with your handler.
We do not name other Opa-locka operators on this page, because we have not been able to check their facilities against their own sites. If your aircraft is with another operator, tell us which, and we position the chauffeur there.
Drive times from Opa-locka
Miami traffic is heavy on the north-south corridors and on the causeways to the beach, particularly on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons. These distances are approximate; the booker works out the exact distance for your address.

| Journey from OPF | Distance (about) | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Miami International Airport (MIA) | 11 km (7 miles) | 15 to 25 minutes |
| Downtown Miami and Brickell | 21 to 25 km (13 to 16 miles) | 25 to 45 minutes |
| Miami Beach (mid-beach hotels) | 30 to 35 km (19 to 22 miles) | 35 to 60 minutes |
| PortMiami cruise terminals | about 25 km (16 miles) | 30 to 50 minutes |
| Fort Lauderdale (FLL) | about 40 km (25 miles) | 35 to 60 minutes |
For the mainstream airline airport, see the Miami International page; for cruise passengers on the same trip, see the PortMiami cruise port page. The Miami car service page covers the city as a whole. PortMiami's own website notes that most cruise lines offer shuttle service from Miami International Airport to the port; a private arrival at Opa-locka is a different journey, so book a car for it.
Miami Beach, Brickell and the places private passengers go
Most OPF arrivals are heading for one of three places: a Miami Beach hotel or residence, a Brickell or Downtown office or apartment, or a connection to a cruise or a yacht. Each has its own quirks.

Miami Beach. The approach is across a causeway, and the last mile on Collins Avenue or Ocean Drive can be slower than the first twenty. Hotels with a porte-cochère get crowded at check-in time and in the evening, so we usually ask the hotel to hold space or send a doorman out. Our Fontainebleau Miami Beach page explains the arrival at that hotel.
Brickell and Downtown. Towers there have underground loading and strict building rules. A chauffeur with the name of the resident, the building and the garage level saves ten minutes at the gate. Give us a building contact if you can.
Yachts and marinas. If you are transferring from an aircraft to a vessel, tell us the marina, the slip or the pier. Marinas have their own gate lists.
In early December the airports and the roads change character. The Art Basel Miami Beach page covers that week, when we recommend building extra time into every transfer and booking return rides early.
How the pickup works at an FBO
Here is what we need to run a clean pickup:
- The airport and the FBO or handler, as named in your charter or flight-department paperwork.
- The aircraft registration and the operator.
- The planned landing time, so the desk can track the flight.
- Passenger names or an alias. The name-board meet-and-greet is an add-on, and the board can carry an alias for privacy.
- Bags: number, size, and anything oversized such as golf clubs, instruments, or hard-case equipment.
- The first destination with the building name, gate and any access code the building will issue.
Whether a car can drive airside to the aircraft is decided by the FBO and the airport's security rules. We do not promise it. Where your handler allows it, we give them the chauffeur's name in advance so the vehicle is expected. Where not, the chauffeur waits at the FBO's pickup area. Ask your handler which applies to your arrival.
Flight tracking is included on every airport pickup. The waiting allowance is 60 minutes free after landing on international arrivals, 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, and 15 minutes on other pickups; your confirmation states which applies. If the aircraft is early or late, the desk moves the pickup.
Customs and the international arrival
If you are arriving from outside the United States, you will clear US customs and immigration before leaving the FBO. The Signature page above states onsite customs and immigration at its Opa-locka location. Entry rules, forms and documents depend on your nationality and are set by US authorities; the US Customs and Border Protection website is the place to check them. Canadian citizens flying in from Toronto should travel with a valid passport.
What the chauffeur can do is make the next ten minutes simple. Keep your passport and the handler's paperwork to hand. Tell us whether you want to go straight to the hotel or stop first. If you are travelling with your own security team, tell us in advance so the vehicle plan matches theirs. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service, not a security company: no armed drivers and no bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team. See the executive protection transport page for how that cooperation works.
Comparing the ways to leave Opa-locka
Honest comparison matters, because the lowest-cost option is sometimes the right one.
| Option | Time to Miami Beach | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked chauffeur (Enroutz.ca) | 35 to 60 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Groups, schedules, luggage, privacy |
| Taxi | 35 to 60 minutes | Metered | One or two travellers with light bags, no schedule |
| Rideshare | 35 to 70 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Solo travellers who can wait for a car at a general-aviation airport |
| Rental car | 35 to 60 minutes | Rental plus fuel and parking | Self-drivers with several days in the city |
| FBO courtesy car | Varies | Offered by some FBOs | Short hops near the airport only |
Be aware that rideshare and taxi pickups at a general-aviation airport are not always as quick as at an airline airport. An FBO is a private building with its own access rules, and a driver who has never been there can spend a long time finding the gate. That is the real argument for a chauffeur who has been told the exact entrance. The chauffeur versus rideshare guide goes further.
Vehicles for an Opa-locka arrival
The Executive Sedan and First Class Sedan carry up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. A Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) takes up to six passengers and five to six large bags and is the default for a family or a team of four. The Executive Sprinter carries up to twelve passengers and twelve bags, and mini-coaches and coaches (20 to 56 seats) are available on request. Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are also on request with availability confirmed at booking. The exact model is confirmed at booking. Most vehicles carry Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers. The fleet page lists every class.
Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. Local law applies to alcohol, so we never promise drinks on board.
Planning the trip from Toronto
A Toronto traveller can book the whole chain through one desk: the car to the Toronto FBO (see the Toronto FBO page), and the chauffeur at Opa-locka. The Toronto leg is operated from Toronto; the Florida leg is delivered by a US-licensed partner. If your itinerary continues north, the Teterboro page and the Westchester page cover the New York area.
Cancellation terms are: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation. For the wider US network, see the USA hub and the private aviation hub.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a car service that meets private jets at Opa-locka Executive Airport?
Yes. Enroutz.ca books a US-licensed local partner chauffeur to meet your aircraft at the FBO you name. The desk tracks the arrival, and the fare is fixed and quoted in the booker before you pay.
How far is Opa-locka from Miami Beach?
About 30 to 35 km (19 to 22 miles), usually 35 to 60 minutes depending on the causeway and the hour. The booker shows the exact distance and fare for your hotel before you confirm.
How far is Opa-locka airport from downtown Miami?
Miami-Dade County puts OPF 12 miles north-west of the city centre, and Signature's page describes its terminal as about 13 miles north of Downtown Miami. Allow 25 to 45 minutes by road.

Signature Aviation's own page lists onsite customs and immigration at its Opa-locka location. Hours and procedures are not published there, so confirm timing with your handler before you fly.
Which FBO should I use at Opa-locka?
That is a decision for your charter operator or flight department. Tell us the FBO in your paperwork and the chauffeur will be there. We do not recommend one operator over another.
Is Opa-locka open at night?
The county describes Opa-locka as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and Signature's page says the same for its terminal. We staff the desk around the clock, so a night arrival is a normal booking.

Yes. The desk tracks the arrival and moves the pickup. Free waiting is 60 minutes on international arrivals, 30 minutes domestic and 15 minutes on other pickups, as stated on your confirmation.
