How do you get from BER airport to the ITB Berlin fairgrounds?
Messe Berlin is about 45 km from BER airport, usually 45 to 75 minutes by road, depending on the hour. A pre-booked chauffeur meets you after arrivals and drives to your hotel or straight to Messedamm. Trains and the S-Bahn are the lowest-cost alternative.
ITB is a travel-industry fair, and the people who attend it are professional travellers: tourism ministers, hotel groups, airline sales teams, tour operators and destination companies. Many of them have a dozen meetings a day in different halls. A good ITB Berlin transportation plan treats the airport, the hotel and the fairgrounds as three linked points on a map and builds the schedule around the one that is hardest to hit on time.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based chauffeur service. In Berlin, the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, and the Enroutz.ca desk books, confirms and invoices it. You receive one confirmation, one invoice and one contact available around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old.
ITB Berlin 2027: dates and venue
The organiser lists ITB Berlin 2027 for 16 to 18 March 2027, Tuesday to Thursday, open from 10 am to 6 pm each day. The venue is the Berlin Exhibition Grounds at Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin. The Maldives is announced as the official guest country, with its stand in Hall 5.2. All schedule detail, pass types and the hall plan are on the official ITB site.

We do not state public-day arrangements here because the page we checked did not set them out. If you hold a trade pass, check the organiser's visitor pages for entry times before you plan a morning pickup.
What the exhibition grounds look like
Messe Berlin describes itself as a venue with 27 halls and about 190,000 square metres of event space, hosting well over a hundred congresses, conferences and fairs in a year. The grounds sit in the west of Berlin, around the Funkturm area, and the operator's own site, messe-berlin.de, lists the transport connections:

- S-Bahn: Messe Süd and Westkreuz stations.
- U-Bahn: the U2 line at Theodor-Heuss-Platz.
- ICC: the International Congress Centre next to the grounds is part of the same complex.
- Airport: the operator lists the distance to BER on its directions page.
Because the site is large, a hall-to-hall walk can take as long as a short drive. Entry at a gate near your hall saves more time than the choice of vehicle. When you book, give your hall number or the exhibitor you are visiting, not only "Messe".
Arriving at BER
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The airport's own site, ber.berlin-airport.de, carries live departures and arrivals, parking information, a pick-up and drop-off section and links to long-distance bus and train connections, and it is the place to check on the day if anything has changed. Your confirmation names the terminal and the meeting point, and the chauffeur messages you before you land. If the airport has reorganised its pick-up areas since this page was written, the chauffeur follows the current instructions, not an old map.

With Enroutz.ca:
- Flights are tracked, so a delayed arrival moves the pickup without a call.
- International arrivals receive 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; domestic and intra-Schengen arrivals receive 30.
- A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, including an alias name on the board for privacy.
- Luggage is handled by the chauffeur. Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers are in most vehicles.
BER is on the south-east edge of the city and Messe Berlin is on the west side, so a trip between them crosses Berlin. Plan the transfer on the assumption that the city is large, and that arriving after 4 pm on a weekday adds time.
Your options from airport to hall

| Option | Typical time BER to Messe Berlin | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airport rail and S-Bahn | Roughly an hour, with a change in the city; check the live timetable | Lowest | Solo travellers with light luggage |
| Taxi | 45 to 75 minutes depending on traffic | Metered | Short, unplanned trips |
| Rideshare | Similar to taxi; pickup points vary | Surge-priced | Flexible trips when a wait is acceptable |
| Hotel shuttle | Depends on your hotel | Sometimes included | Hotels that run show-week shuttles |
| Rental car | Self-drive with parking to manage | Daily rate plus parking | Delegates driving on to other cities |
| Private chauffeur | Airport to hotel or hall, no queue | Fixed fare via booker | Fixed schedules, delegations, late arrivals |
If you are travelling alone with a single bag, are not in a rush and are staying near an S-Bahn line, the train is the right choice. A chauffeur is better when you are travelling with a team, carrying promotional material, arriving late or running to a fixed schedule.
From the hotel to Messedamm
Berlin does not have one hotel district. Delegates stay around Kurfürstendamm and Charlottenburg, close to the fair, and in Mitte and around Potsdamer Platz, closer to the political and business quarter. Charlottenburg is about 3 to 5 km from the grounds, a drive of 10 to 20 minutes. Mitte is around 9 to 12 km away, and a drive of 25 to 45 minutes depending on the hour.
The morning rush into the western Berlin ring and the evening rush back are what drive the timing. The chauffeur will normally recommend a pickup that puts you at your hall about fifteen minutes before the first appointment. Tell the desk the appointment time, and let the dispatcher work backwards.
For a day with meetings in several districts, book by the hour so that the chauffeur stays with you. See hourly chauffeur service.
Delegations from tourism boards, hotel groups and airlines
ITB is where destination teams meet buyers, and those teams move together. Tourism board delegations often arrive from several cities at different hours and need to be at the same place at the same time. A dispatcher can build the arrival schedule as a single plan, with one vehicle per flight and a briefing at the desk. Our meetings, incentives and conferences page explains how that planning works.
For senior guests, the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) carries up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. A Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) seats six. An Executive Sprinter seats twelve with twelve bags, and mini-coaches and coaches of 20 to 56 seats are available on request. Availability is confirmed at booking. See group transportation.
Discretion is standard. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. A delegation with its own security staff can work alongside the chauffeur; Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company.
Evenings: receptions, dinners and the return
ITB week is full of receptions, many of them held in hotels or event venues outside the fairgrounds. The most reliable approach is to give the dispatcher the list of evening addresses in one message, with the times, so the chauffeur can plan the order and the buffers. Berlin is a spread-out city, and a gap of 20 minutes between events is rarely enough on a weekday evening.
Local law applies to alcohol and no drinks are promised on board. After a late reception, a pre-booked pickup removes the wait at a venue exit when every guest leaves at once.
Your travel desk and the wider trip
Many ITB visitors are the same people who book group travel for their own clients. If you are building a European itinerary around ITB, our travel desk page explains how the Toronto team can arrange the ground side for several cities in one booking. The Europe hub lists the cities we cover.
For onward journeys, our pages for Frankfurt and Munich cover the other major German business cities, with airport details on the Frankfurt airport and Munich airport pages. Another large travel-and-technology fair is covered on our MWC Barcelona page, and the trade shows hub lists every event we serve.
A short trip from Berlin is Potsdam, about 30 km from Messe Berlin, usually 30 to 45 minutes by road. It is a pleasant half-day for a delegation with a free afternoon, and a chauffeur can arrange it as an hourly booking.
Flying in from Toronto
Berlin is six hours ahead of Toronto for most of the year, but during ITB it is five, because North America changes its clocks on 14 March 2027 and Europe does so later in the month. Most itineraries from Toronto connect through another European or Canadian hub. Check the entry requirements for your passport on the official German and EU government sites before you travel, because the rules for visa-free visitors have been changing and we do not repeat them here.
If you land in Frankfurt or Munich first and continue by road, you can book the leg through the same desk. The corporate accounts page explains how a company with several travellers receives a single monthly invoice, and the corporate chauffeur service page explains cost-centre references.
How booking works
Open the booker, enter any pickup in the world, and add the destination, date and time. The desk confirms a fixed quote for the exact addresses and vehicle before you pay. Vehicle classes are "or similar", and the model is confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
A sample show day for a delegate staying in Mitte
Tuesday 16 March 2027 is the opening day, and the halls open at 10 am. Take a hotel buyer staying in Mitte with a first appointment at 10:30. Mitte is around 9 to 12 km from Messedamm, a drive of 25 to 45 minutes, so a pickup at about 9:15 absorbs the morning rush towards the western ring and still leaves time to walk to the right hall. From a Charlottenburg hotel the same appointment needs a pickup roughly 40 minutes ahead, because the drive is only 10 to 20 minutes and the walk inside the grounds becomes the larger part of the journey.
Exhibitors should tell the desk how many boxes, banners and display cases are travelling, since that decides between a sedan, a Luxury SUV and an Executive Sprinter. Leave the stand's contact name with the desk so the chauffeur knows who to call at the gate.
The halls close at 6 pm, and everyone wants a car at the same moment. A pickup set a little after closing, at a gate agreed in advance, avoids the first rush at the exits and leaves time for the evening reception addresses you have already sent.
Frequently asked questions
When is ITB Berlin 2027?
The organiser lists ITB Berlin 2027 for 16 to 18 March 2027, Tuesday to Thursday, open from 10 am to 6 pm. The venue is the Berlin Exhibition Grounds at Messedamm 22.
How far is Messe Berlin from BER airport?
About 45 km by road, usually 45 to 75 minutes depending on the hour and the route. The airport sits on the south-east edge of Berlin and the fair on the west side.
How do I reach the fairgrounds by public transport?
Messe Berlin lists the S-Bahn stations Messe Süd and Westkreuz, and the U2 line at Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Public transport is the lowest-cost option and works well if your hotel is near a station.
Is a chauffeur better than a taxi at ITB?
For a fixed schedule or a group, yes, because the car is waiting and the fare is quoted before you pay. For one short, unplanned trip a taxi is fine, and the train is cheaper still.
Which entrance should my chauffeur use?
The one nearest your hall. Give the desk your hall number or the exhibitor you are visiting, and the chauffeur confirms the drop-off point before your pickup.
Can the chauffeur wait for me?
Yes. A one-way transfer includes 15 minutes of waiting on non-airport pickups. For longer waits or several stops, book by the hour so the same chauffeur stays with you.
How many people fit in a vehicle?
An Executive Sedan or First Class Sedan carries up to three passengers. A Luxury SUV carries up to six and an Executive Sprinter up to twelve. Larger coaches are available on request.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Your flight is tracked, so the pickup follows the real landing time. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.
Does Enroutz.ca own vehicles in Berlin?
No. In Berlin the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed, commercially insured local partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto.
