Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada's largest airport and the main gateway for visitors arriving from the United States, Europe and the Middle East. It is also an airport where the first twenty minutes decide the mood of the trip. Long border lines, a confusing choice of ground transportation and a cold kerb in January can undo a comfortable flight.
A Pearson airport limo removes the guesswork. Your chauffeur knows the terminal, tracks the aircraft and is at the pre-arranged pickup point when you walk out. This page explains exactly how that works, which terminal you are likely to use, how long each part takes and what the alternatives are.
Pearson airport limo: how does a pre-arranged pickup work?
You book a Pearson airport limo with your flight number. The chauffeur tracks the aircraft, waits through customs and baggage, and meets you at the airport's designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; domestic arrivals include 30.
The sequence has four parts. First, you book through the online booker, entering the flight number, pickup terminal and drop-off address. Second, the booker shows the exact all-in fare for that route and vehicle before payment. Third, the desk confirms the vehicle class and the meeting point in writing. Fourth, on the day, the chauffeur follows your flight's real-time status, so a delay or an early arrival changes nothing about your booking.
Flight tracking applies to every airport pickup, not only long-haul. If your aircraft lands at 23:40 instead of 21:15, the chauffeur adjusts without a call to the desk.
Which terminal at Toronto Pearson?
Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 closed and was demolished in 2008 to make room for the expansion of Terminal 1, so a Terminal 2 reference on an old itinerary is simply out of date. Both open terminals handle domestic, transborder (to the USA) and international flights.

Your airline determines your terminal, and airlines can move between them, so check your ticket or the airline's app a few days before travel. If you are not sure, tell the booker your flight number and the desk will confirm the terminal on your booking.
Where the chauffeur meets you
Pearson controls where licensed vehicles may collect passengers. According to the airport's pre-arranged services page, pre-arranged taxis and limos use Door A at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The airport's separate taxis and limos page describes the on-demand limo stand on the Arrivals level at Door C in Terminal 1 and Door E in Terminal 3, and states that licensed taxis and limos do not pick up passengers inside the terminals or the parking garages.

In plain terms: you leave the baggage hall, enter the public arrivals area, follow the signs to the ground-transportation exit and meet your chauffeur at the designated point. Airport signage and door assignments can change, so your Enroutz.ca confirmation states the current meeting point for your terminal, and the chauffeur is briefed on it.
Meet-and-greet inside arrivals
If you want someone waiting inside the public arrivals hall, add the name-board meet-and-greet at booking. The chauffeur holds a board with your name, or an alias if you prefer privacy, and walks you to the vehicle. It is especially useful for first-time visitors, families with children, executives who prefer a discreet arrival and travellers who need help with luggage. See meet-and-greet service for the full description.
From landing to the kerb: what happens on an international arrival
Knowing the sequence helps you judge how long the chauffeur will wait. On an international flight into Pearson, the steps are usually:

- Deplane and walk to the border hall. Allow time for the walk, which can be considerable in both terminals.
- Immigration and customs. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) runs primary inspection kiosks and eGates, where you scan your travel document, answer customs questions and receive a receipt to show a border officer.
- Baggage reclaim. Screens direct you to the carousel for your flight.
- Exit checkpoint. You hand your receipt to the officer before leaving the controlled area.
- Public arrivals hall. Here you find the ground-transportation signs and your chauffeur or name board.
Travellers can shorten step 2 by using the Advance Declaration feature in the ArriveCAN app. The Canada Border Services Agency says you can complete your declaration up to 72 hours before your flight, that it is available at Toronto Pearson Terminals 1 and 3, and that it cannot be used with NEXUS kiosks.
The free waiting window of 60 minutes after landing was set with this sequence in mind. If border or baggage delays run past that, tell the desk and the chauffeur stays with the booking while it finds out how far you are. Pearson to downtown Toronto and the hotels
The drive from Pearson to Union Station is about 27 km by road and normally takes 30 to 50 minutes, depending on the hour, the weather and traffic on Highway 427, Highway 409 and the Gardiner Expressway. The booker shows the exact fare for your hotel address and vehicle before you confirm.

Downtown hotels such as the Fairmont Royal York, the Ritz-Carlton Toronto and the Four Seasons Toronto are all on the downtown or Yorkville side of that trip. The Fairmont is across the street from Union Station, so it is the same journey; Yorkville adds a further 3 to 4 km beyond Union. For the airport strip, see the guide to Pearson airport hotels.
If you are travelling for business, check the Toronto business travel guide for advice on timing meetings around arrivals.
Beyond downtown: the 905 cities, Niagara and further
Most of Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan and Oakville lie within roughly 10 to 35 km of the terminals, so a Pearson limo is the natural way to reach them. Individual city pages cover local detail: Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville and Kitchener-Waterloo.
For longer journeys, distances from Toronto are:
| Destination | Distance from Toronto | Typical drive | Page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Niagara Falls | About 130 km | 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours | Niagara Falls car service |
| Buffalo Niagara Airport | About 154 km (96 miles) | 2 to 3 hours including the border | Buffalo airport |
| Ottawa | About 453 km | 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours | Ottawa car service |
| Montréal | About 545 km | 5 hours 30 minutes to 6 hours | City-to-city |
The Buffalo, Ottawa and Montréal distances come from Destination Toronto, and the Niagara figure is the road distance from Toronto. A chauffeur from Pearson can be a better option than a flight for Ottawa or Buffalo if you have heavy luggage or a group; for Montréal, a flight or a train is usually faster. We say so plainly when a different mode is the better answer.
Pearson airport limo versus the alternatives
This table sets out the real choices between Pearson and downtown for one or two travellers with luggage.
| Option | Time to downtown | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express train | About 25 to 30 minutes to Union Station | Lowest | Light luggage, one or two travellers, rush hour |
| Airport taxi | 30 to 50 minutes by road | Flat rates to Toronto destinations | Arrivals with no booking |
| Rideshare | 30 to 50 minutes by road | Surge-priced at peaks | Flexible timing, light baggage |
| Hotel shuttle | Varies | Often free | Airport-strip hotels |
| Rental car | 30 to 50 minutes by road | Rental plus parking | Trips beyond Toronto |
| Private chauffeur | 30 to 50 minutes by road | Fixed fare via booker | Heavy luggage, late flights, families, groups, executives |
The UP Express is a very good train. The UP Express advertises a journey of 28 minutes from Pearson to Union Station, and Destination Toronto reports departures about every 15 minutes. The fares page lists a standard adult one-way fare of $12.35 as of 2026. Pearson states that licensed taxis charge flat rates to Toronto destinations with no surge pricing. If your hotel is a short walk from Union Station and your bags are light, the train is often the sensible choice. The chauffeur wins when your hotel is far from the station, when you land late at night, when you have children or heavy cases, or when you have a meeting within the hour.
Departures: from your hotel to the check-in desk
A chauffeur is just as useful on the way out. For a morning departure, the car arrives at the time you set, the chauffeur loads the bags and chooses the route for that hour, and you are dropped at the departures door for your terminal. Airlines commonly advise arriving at the airport two to three hours before an international flight, so plan the pickup time against your airline's guidance and tell the booker your flight; the desk can advise on timing.
In winter, add a margin. Snow, freezing rain and de-icing queues can slow roads and the airfield, and a late-afternoon departure in a storm can take much longer than the same drive in July.
Pearson, the International Centre and the airport strip
The airport strip contains business hotels, conference halls and exhibition space. The International Centre in Mississauga and the Toronto Congress Centre host trade shows a few minutes from the terminals, and the trade show transportation page describes how we move exhibitors and visitors. For corporate groups arriving in waves, the group transportation page covers the Sprinter and mini-coach options.
Private jet passengers use separate facilities; the Toronto FBO page covers chauffeur arrangements at the business-aviation side of the airport.
Vehicles, luggage and special requests
The vehicle class should match both the number of passengers and the luggage:
- Executive Sedan or First Class Sedan: up to 3 passengers, 2 large + 2 cabin bags.
- Luxury SUV: up to 6 passengers, 5 to 6 large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: up to 12 passengers, 12 bags.
Child, toddler and booster seats can be added at booking on request. If a passenger uses a non-foldable or non-collapsible mobility aid, Pearson advises contacting the company directly to check that it can carry the equipment, so mention it when you book and the desk will confirm the vehicle. The full range is on the fleet page.
Flying onward from Toronto
Many Pearson passengers continue to New York, London or Dubai. The Enroutz.ca desk can book the onward airport transfer in the same reservation: outside Toronto, the GTA and Ontario, a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner delivers the ride, and Enroutz.ca books, confirms and invoices it. Browse all airports we cover, compare with other Toronto airports, and see the worldwide chauffeur network.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from Pearson Airport to downtown Toronto?
There is no published rate card. The booker shows the exact all-in fare for your hotel address and the vehicle you choose before you pay. The trip is about 27 km and usually takes 30 to 50 minutes. The fare is fixed and does not rise with traffic.
Where does my limo driver meet me at Pearson?
Pearson's pre-arranged pickup is listed at Door A for both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and licensed taxis and limos do not collect passengers inside the terminals. Your booking confirmation states the current meeting point, and a name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on.
How long will the chauffeur wait if my flight is delayed?
The chauffeur tracks your flight, so a delay changes nothing. After landing, international arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting and domestic arrivals include 30. If customs or baggage run longer, tell the desk and the chauffeur remains with the booking.
Is it better to take the UP Express or a limo from Pearson?
The UP Express is faster at rush hour and costs less, so for one or two travellers with light bags going near Union Station it is a good choice. A limo suits heavy luggage, families, late arrivals, groups and hotels far from the station.
Which terminal will I arrive at?
Pearson has Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and your airline decides. Check your ticket or airline app, or give the booker your flight number and the desk will confirm the terminal. Terminal 2 was demolished in 2008.
Do you offer meet-and-greet at Pearson?
Yes, as an add-on. The chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board and can use an alias for privacy. Without the add-on, you meet the chauffeur at the pickup point listed on your confirmation.
Can I get a car seat for my child?
Yes. Seats for children of every age can be requested when you book. Please state the ages and sizes so the correct seat is fitted before the pickup.
What is the cancellation policy for airport pickups?
Notice of more than 72 hours carries no charge. Cancel at 72 hours or less before pickup and the charge is 10%; at 48 hours or less, 50%; at 24 hours or less, or if you do not appear, 100%. The clock runs to the scheduled pickup time. Conventions and large events may use a different deadline, shown on your confirmation.
