How does a worldwide chauffeur service work with Enroutz.ca?

You book once with the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto. In Toronto, the GTA and Ontario we operate the ride with our own fleet and chauffeurs. Everywhere else, a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner delivers it, while Enroutz.ca books, confirms and invoices: one confirmation, one invoice, one contact, 24 hours a day.

A global chauffeur network is easy to describe badly. Some companies imply they own cars and offices in every capital. Others hide the fact that a stranger is doing the driving. We would rather explain the arrangement exactly, because the people who use it (executives flying Toronto to London, families heading to Dubai, event planners moving delegates between three countries) need to know who is responsible for what.

This page covers the operating model, the standards partner vehicles must meet, the difference between a ride we run and a ride we arrange, and the limits of what we claim.

Two ways a ride is delivered

In Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. The ride is operated from the Toronto desk, using the Enroutz.ca fleet and chauffeurs. That covers airport transfers at Pearson, hotel and office pickups, hourly bookings and longer trips across Ontario. Pages such as black car service Toronto and the Ontario hub describe the area.

Everywhere else: the rest of Canada, the USA, Europe and the Middle East. The ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner. The Enroutz.ca desk books it, confirms it and invoices it. The partner supplies the local vehicle and the driver; Enroutz.ca supplies the single point of contact and the single bill.

That second sentence matters, because it defines where we stop. We do not own vehicles or offices abroad, and we do not describe partner rides as if we did. What we do own is the booking, the confirmation, the invoice and the responsibility to answer when something changes.

What stays the same for you

From the passenger's side, the experience should be the same in Toronto as in Rome:

  • One booking. You use the online booker. Enter any pickup worldwide and the desk confirms a fixed quote.
  • One confirmation. The details of the ride, the vehicle class and the pickup arrangements are in a single document.
  • One invoice. No need to settle separately with a foreign operator in another currency. Corporate accounts receive monthly invoicing; see corporate accounts.
  • One point of contact. The desk is open 24 hours a day, so a delayed flight in Frankfurt and a change of hotel in Doha go to the same place.
  • A fixed fare, quoted before you pay. For the exact addresses and vehicle you choose.

Flight tracking applies to every airport pickup. Waiting allowances, meet-and-greet with a name board (an alias can be used for privacy) and child, toddler and booster seats on request are specified at booking and shown on your confirmation. Vehicle models are "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed when you book.

The standards a partner must meet

A partner chauffeur is not simply a local with a car. The standards we require are:

Black luxury sedan parked on a city street at night

  1. Vetted. The partner is checked before the desk uses them for Enroutz.ca bookings.
  2. Licensed. The partner holds the commercial passenger-transport licensing that the local jurisdiction requires.
  3. Commercially insured. Vehicles carry commercial insurance, not a private policy.
  4. A modern vehicle. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old. Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach may be up to seven.
  5. A recognised class. Every ride is assigned to one of the classes shown on the fleet page, so you know the capacity before you book.

Local rules differ. A licence that is valid in the UK is not a licence in the USA, which is why the next section matters.

The USA: why local partners are required

Trips inside the United States are delivered by US-licensed partners, because Canadian-plated vehicles cannot carry out domestic point-to-point work there. A guest arriving at JFK, about 24 km (15 miles) from Midtown Manhattan and usually 45 to 75 minutes by road, is met by a New York partner rather than a car driven down from Toronto. The same applies at Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles and the other US cities on the USA hub.

Cross-border trips between Toronto and the USA are different. They run from Toronto, with an Enroutz.ca vehicle, under the arrangements described on the cross-border car service page. A trip from Toronto to Buffalo, about 160 km (100 miles) and roughly two hours before the border, is the typical example.

Border formalities are the traveller's responsibility. US entry rules depend on your passport; the official ESTA website is the only place to apply if you are eligible, and the Canadian side is covered by the eTA information page.

Europe

Across Europe the model is the same, but the local detail changes. London has its own drop-off rules at airports, Paris and Rome have restricted zones in the historic centres, and every airport has its own pickup arrangement. A partner who works these routes every day knows them. For example, Heathrow lists a terminal drop-off charge on its own site; the booking confirmation tells the passenger how any such local charges are handled.

A guest landing at Heathrow is typically about 23 km (14 miles) from central London, and the drive usually takes 45 to 75 minutes depending on the hour. See London chauffeur service, Paris chauffeur service and the Europe hub for the cities covered.

The Middle East

In Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Bahrain and Muscat, local partners work to local licensing and local customs. Respect for local practice is part of the service: dress, conversation and etiquette are the passenger's choice, but partners understand them, and we never promise alcohol on board. Local law applies.

Dubai International is about 15 km (9 miles) from Downtown Dubai and typically 20 to 30 minutes by road, longer at peak. The airport operator's site, Dubai Airports, carries current transport and map information. Our Dubai chauffeur service and Middle East hub pages cover the region.

How a worldwide booking runs, step by step

  1. Enter the pickup. Use the booker for any city. If the location is outside Toronto, the desk confirms a fixed quote before you pay.
  2. Choose the class. Executive Sedan, First Class Sedan, Luxury SUV or Executive Sprinter, with coaches on request.
  3. Add details. Flight number, name-board request, child seats, extra stops.
  4. Receive confirmation. One document, one invoice.
  5. Travel. For airport pickups the flight is tracked. If it changes, the desk handles the partner side.
  6. Get support. One contact, any time zone.

Compare the options for a multi-city trip

Business trips often involve several cities and several time zones. These are the realistic ways to handle the ground transport.

The first four are all reasonable in the right setting, and we will say so. The chauffeur network earns its place when an itinerary has three legs, a hard schedule and no time to deal with strangers.

Itineraries that suit the network

What we never claim

We are a chauffeur service, not a security company. There are no armed drivers and no bodyguards, anywhere in the network; where a client has a security team, we work alongside it. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request.

We do not publish fares for partner rides on web pages, because they depend on the address and vehicle. We do not claim a fleet size, an office count, or a ranking. We do not recommend you use another company's app or website.

Canada beyond Ontario

The same split applies inside Canada. Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax and the other cities on the Canada hub are served by local partners, booked and invoiced by the Toronto desk. A guest arriving at Montreal-Trudeau is about 20 km (12 miles) from downtown Montreal, usually 25 to 45 minutes by road, and a guest landing at Vancouver International is about 15 km (9 miles) from downtown Vancouver, typically 25 to 40 minutes. These are approximate figures, and the booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm. See Montreal car service and Vancouver car service for city detail.

Distances between Canadian cities are large, so intercity rides are planned differently. Toronto to Ottawa is about 450 km (280 miles) and normally four and a half hours or more, and Toronto to Montreal is about 540 km (335 miles), five and a half hours or more. For rides like these, say so at booking so the desk can plan driver hours, rest breaks and the return leg.

Practical advice for a first partner booking

A few habits make a partner ride go smoothly:

  • Book early for peak dates. Conventions, festivals and public holidays tighten supply everywhere. The events hub and trade shows hub list the big dates, and large events may carry a different cancellation deadline.
  • Give the flight number, not just the airline. Tracking works from the flight number, and it allows the partner to move the pickup if the aircraft is late.
  • State your luggage honestly. Count suitcases, golf clubs and sports equipment. Ask for an SUV or Sprinter instead of squeezing into a sedan.
  • Mention local habits you care about. If you prefer a quiet ride, or you need a child seat fitted, say so when you book rather than at the kerb.
  • Keep the confirmation open. It carries the pickup arrangement for the city you are in, which can be different from the one you used in Toronto.

Cancellation

Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time: no charge with more than 72 hours' notice, 10 per cent at 72 hours or less, 50 per cent at 48 hours or less, and 100 per cent at 24 hours or less or on a no-show. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation. Read the confirmation for any ride in another country, since local conditions can differ.

Frequently asked questions

Does Enroutz.ca own vehicles or offices outside Toronto?

No. Outside Toronto, the GTA and Ontario, rides are delivered by vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partners. The Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto books, confirms and invoices them.

How old are partner vehicles?

No more than four model years old. Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach vehicles may be up to seven.

Why can't a Toronto car do a ride inside the USA?

Canadian vehicles cannot carry out domestic point-to-point work in the USA. Domestic US rides are delivered by US-licensed partners, while cross-border trips between Toronto and the USA run from Toronto.

Will I get one invoice for several cities?

Yes. Each booking is invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk, and corporate accounts receive monthly invoicing so all rides are collected on one statement.

Who do I call if something changes abroad?

The Enroutz.ca desk, which is open 24 hours a day. You do not need to find the partner's number or speak a local language.

Is flight tracking available at partner airports?

Flight tracking applies to every airport pickup. The details of the waiting time and the pickup point are on your confirmation.

Can I book a worldwide itinerary in one go?

Enter each pickup in the booker. For multi-leg trips, the desk can confirm each city and issue a single invoice.

Do you provide security or armed drivers?

No. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company. We can work alongside your own security team.
