Black car service Boston: a short flight, a short drive and a few traps

Toronto to Boston is among the easiest business flights in North America, about an hour and a half in the air, and Logan is one of the closest major airports to its city centre. What catches visitors out is the ground. Boston's streets follow cow paths rather than a grid, tunnels and bridges decide most journeys, and universities, hospitals and conventions all peak on the same mornings. A black car service in Boston earns its place by knowing which tunnel to use and which door to stop at.

Booking is handled by the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured Boston chauffeur partner delivers the ride, and the desk confirms it, tracks your flight and issues one invoice. Get an instant fare for your exact pickup and drop-off, or read on for how it works at Logan and beyond.

Where does my chauffeur meet me at Boston Logan?

Logan has four terminals (A, B, C and E), and each has its own limo stand. Massport states that limo service is available only by prior reservation. Terminal A uses a lot opposite the arrivals curb, B the departures curb, C the Central Parking garage and E a lot on the arrivals level. Your confirmation names yours.

The airport authority, Massport, publishes the stands on its taxi and limo page:

  • Terminal A: the lot across from the curb on the arrivals (lower) level.
  • Terminal B: curbside on the departures (upper) level, between doors B-205 and B-208.
  • Terminal C: follow signs to the Central Parking Garage and the limo stand on its ground level.
  • Terminal E: E Lot 2 on the arrivals (lower) level.

Massport's pickup and drop-off guidance adds two rules that matter. Curbside parking is not allowed at any terminal, and passengers should confirm their arrival terminal with their airline, since assignments can change. The airport's guidance lists JetBlue arrivals at Terminal C, Delta at Terminal A and international flights at Terminal E. Terminal C limo arrangements have also been moved during construction in the past, so rely on the instructions in your confirmation rather than on an older map. Our Logan airport page covers each terminal in more detail.

If you would rather be met inside, add meet and greet. The chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with a name board, which can carry an alias for privacy.

Airport transfer Boston: distances and tunnels

Logan sits on the harbour, about 5 km (3 miles) from downtown. That makes the drive short in the middle of the day and variable at the edges.

  • Downtown and the Financial District: about 5 km (3 miles), 10 to 25 minutes.
  • Seaport District: about 5 km (3 miles), 10 to 25 minutes.
  • Back Bay and the Prudential Center: about 8 km (5 miles), 15 to 35 minutes.
  • Cambridge, MIT and Kendall Square: about 8 to 11 km (5 to 7 miles), 20 to 45 minutes.
  • Harvard Square: about 10 km (6 miles), 20 to 45 minutes.

Two tunnels, the Ted Williams and the Sumner, carry traffic under the harbour, and the approach road is slow in the morning and evening peaks. Chauffeurs choose between them and the Seaport connections based on live conditions. A crash in a tunnel can turn a quiet 15-minute drive into a long one, so allow extra time before a morning flight.

Free waiting is 60 minutes after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, and flight tracking is included. Passengers who clear U.S. inspection at Pearson before boarding reach Logan as domestic arrivals, with no immigration hall.

Chauffeur service Boston: the neighbourhoods

Boston is compact, which makes driving between neighbourhoods short and often slow.

Financial District and the Seaport. Law firms, banks and a growing group of technology companies. The Seaport has newer offices, hotels and a large convention centre. The streets are wide there and closed often for events.

Back Bay. The most common business hotel district, with Newbury Street, Copley Square and the Prudential Center. Traffic is dense in the afternoon, and the streets are laid out in a grid with alphabetical names, which helps visitors orient.

Beacon Hill and the North End. Narrow, one-way and often blocked. A chauffeur will stop on the nearest practical street and not on the lane your hotel's website suggests.

Cambridge and Kendall Square. Home to Harvard, MIT and a large life-sciences cluster. Commencement and move-in weeks fill hotels and restrict streets.

Fenway. Hospitals and the ballpark. Game nights and concerts change the picture from the afternoon onward.

For several meetings in different areas, book an hourly chauffeur, so the car and your belongings stay together.

Boston is a city where public transport often wins for a single traveller with a small bag, and where a rental car is a poor idea if you stay downtown. A chauffeur makes the most sense for a team, a family, an arrival that has to be smooth, or a visitor who lands at midnight and must be at a hospital or a lab at 7 am. See also chauffeur versus rideshare.

Universities, hospitals and life sciences

Boston's economy runs on education, medicine and research. Visiting faculty, conference delegates, investors and patients all need predictable transport. A visiting speaker at MIT or Harvard, or a clinician travelling to a hospital in the Longwood Medical Area, will have a fixed time on one of the busiest streets in the city, and a chauffeur plans backward from it.

For conferences, delegation arrivals, or hospital-linked trips, the desk can organise group arrivals and shuttle loops. See meetings, incentives and conferences and group transportation. Corporate teams can use corporate accounts for monthly invoicing with cost-centre references. For investor visits, the roadshow car service page explains how tight schedules are protected.

The Boston Marathon and other peak days

The Boston Marathon is listed for 19 April 2027 by the Boston Athletic Association; see the B.A.A. site. The race falls on a Monday, Patriots' Day in Massachusetts, and the course runs from Hopkinton into Boston. On race day, large parts of Back Bay and Boylston Street are closed. Hotels in Copley and Back Bay fill weeks in advance, and cars cannot cross the route during the race.

If you are travelling for the marathon, book early, ask the desk about road closures, and agree a pickup point outside the closed area. Large events can carry a different cancellation deadline, stated on the confirmation. Graduations in May and June, the start of the university year in late August and September, and autumn foliage weekends also stretch availability. The events hub lists other dates.

Cape Cod, New England day trips and onward travel

A chauffeured day trip is a popular add-on, and the distances are modest.

  • Cape Cod, Sagamore Bridge: about 100 km (60 miles) south-east, roughly 1 to 2 hours depending on season. Summer Fridays and Sundays are the slow days.
  • Providence, Rhode Island: about 80 km (50 miles) south-west, 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • Portsmouth, New Hampshire: about 90 km (56 miles) north, around 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • New York City: about 350 km (215 miles) south-west, usually 4 to 5 hours; Amtrak's Acela is often quicker for a single traveller.

For multi-city trips, New York and Washington DC are on the same network, and the city-to-city car service page covers longer Canadian routes. A guided day is built the same way as a private tour with driver. The USA hub lists every city.

Winter, snow and the Boston calendar

Canadians are used to winter, and Boston's winter is familiar: cold, wind off the harbour and the occasional nor'easter that closes airports for a day. Snow slows Logan's approach roads and the tunnels before it slows anything else. If a storm is forecast, the desk watches the airline's schedule as well as your flight, and may suggest holding a later pickup or moving the time. A Luxury SUV is a sensible choice in snow when the party is larger than three.

Summer has different pressures. Tourists fill the Seaport, the Freedom Trail and the waterfront, and weekends on the roads toward Cape Cod are slow. Autumn is the busiest business season, when universities are in session and conferences return. Plan more time on Tuesday to Thursday mornings than on a Monday.

Hotels, the Seaport and conventions

Most business visitors choose Back Bay for the walkability or the Seaport for the convention centre and newer hotels. Whichever you pick, tell the desk the hotel name and the entrance you plan to use. Boston hotels often have a short drop-off lane with a strict time limit, and some share a block with a busy street. A chauffeur who knows the entrance can stop within seconds and move on, and the airport run starts from the correct door.

For delegates arriving on many flights, the desk handles each arrival separately, tracks every flight and assigns the right vehicle. Hospital stays, university visits and board meetings follow the same logic. A single hourly booking can cover the whole day, with a car waiting while you are inside. Read how hours are counted on the hourly chauffeur page.

Weddings and celebrations

Boston is a popular wedding destination for the historic venues around the city and the coast. A wedding party with elderly relatives and young children is a good use of a Sprinter. See wedding chauffeur.

Vehicles for Boston

Boston's narrow streets favour a sedan, and its winters favour an SUV. The Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) and the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) each take three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. When snow is forecast, or the party is four to six, choose the Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar), which holds five to six large bags. Conference delegations use the Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter), twelve passengers and twelve bags.

Coaches of 20 to 56 seats, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousines and armoured vehicles are on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Every model is "or similar" and appears on the confirmation. Most vehicles have Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers, and child, toddler and booster seats can be requested. Every class is described on the fleet page. Chauffeurs do not photograph passengers or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request.

Booking and cancellation

Reserve your chauffeur

Cancelling more than 72 hours ahead of the scheduled pickup costs nothing. Inside 72 hours the charge is 10%, inside 48 hours 50%, and inside 24 hours or for a no-show 100%. Marathon week and other large events may follow a different deadline, which the confirmation states.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book a black car service in Boston from Toronto?

Enter your Boston pickup in the online booker and choose a vehicle. A confirmation comes from the Toronto desk, and a licensed local chauffeur partner delivers the ride.

Where do limos pick up at Logan Airport?

Every terminal has its own limo stand, and limo service is by prior reservation only. Your confirmation names the stand for your terminal.

How far is Logan from downtown Boston?

About 5 km (3 miles). Allow 10 to 25 minutes in normal traffic, and longer at the peaks or after a tunnel incident.

Which terminal will my flight use?

Check with your airline before you travel. The airport lists JetBlue at Terminal C, Delta at Terminal A and international flights at Terminal E, but assignments can change.

Will the driver follow my flight?

Yes. Every airport pickup is tracked, and free waiting starts at landing: 60 minutes after an international arrival and 30 after a domestic one.

Is the Silver Line better than a car from Logan?

For one traveller with light luggage in the daytime, often. A chauffeur wins for groups, late arrivals, heavy bags and early meetings.

Can you drive me to Cape Cod?

Yes. The Sagamore Bridge is about 100 km (60 miles) from Boston, and the booker shows the fixed fare for the route.

What does a Boston chauffeur cost?

There is no rate card. The booker gives one fixed fare for your route and car before you commit.

Do you operate your own cars in Boston?

No. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner drives, in vehicles no more than four model years old (seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach). The Toronto desk books, confirms and invoices the trip.
