LaGuardia is the closest of New York's three big airports to Midtown Manhattan, and it is the airport where Air Canada and Porter are listed, which makes it the natural landing point for many Toronto travellers. If you are looking for a LaGuardia car service that is waiting when you arrive, tracks your flight and quotes one fixed fare before you pay, this page explains how a pre-booked chauffeur works at LGA, where the driver meets you at each terminal, and when a cheaper alternative is the smarter choice.
LaGuardia car service: how an Enroutz.ca pickup works
You book once on the Enroutz.ca booker, enter your flight number and your destination, and see the fixed fare for the exact address and vehicle before you confirm. Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based chauffeur desk. In New York the ride itself is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, because Canadian vehicles cannot do domestic point-to-point work inside the United States. The booking, the confirmation, the invoice and the 24/7 point of contact all stay with the Toronto desk.
Your driver tracks your flight, so a late departure from Toronto or a holding pattern over Long Island does not cost you the booking. On an airport pickup the driver holds the car for 30 minutes after a domestic landing and 60 minutes after an international landing, and the confirmation tells you exactly where to walk.
What is the best way to get from LaGuardia to Manhattan?

The best way depends on your priorities. A pre-booked chauffeur is the most predictable: a fixed fare, a named driver and no queue. The subway-and-bus route is the lowest cost but takes longer with luggage. A yellow taxi is metered and waits in a line at each terminal. LaGuardia to Midtown is about 13 km (8 miles).
Most of the difficulty at LaGuardia is not the drive. It is the last 200 metres: finding the right kerb, the right door and the right driver. A pre-arranged car removes that decision. The distance is short, but the Grand Central Parkway and the approaches to the Queensboro and Midtown Tunnel crossings are some of the slowest roads in the city at the wrong hour.
Terminals A, B and C: where your chauffeur meets you
LaGuardia was rebuilt over the past decade and now has three terminals. According to the airport's own terminal page, Terminal A, historically the Marine Air Terminal, serves Modern Aviation. Terminal B handles Air Canada, American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Porter, Southwest and United. Terminal C is Delta's terminal. The page lists these airlines as of this writing; airlines move, so confirm your terminal on your ticket.

The Port Authority publishes where pre-arranged car services pick up. Per the airport's van, shuttle and car service page:
- Terminal A: across the street from the terminal; follow the "Car Services" signs.
- Terminal B: Level 2 of the Terminal B parking garage; follow the "Car Services" signs. A covered walkway links the garage to the terminal.
- Terminal C: the inner lane of the arrivals area; follow the "Car Services" signs.
Your Enroutz.ca confirmation names the meeting point for your terminal, and the driver's name and vehicle details arrive before you land. If you added a name-board meet-and-greet, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a board in your name or an alias if you prefer privacy. Read more about that option on the meet and greet service page.
Official source: the Port Authority's pages on terminals and car service pick-up locations. Pick-up points can change during construction, so the driver's message on the day is the final word.
Flying from Toronto to LaGuardia
Toronto to New York is one of the busiest short-haul pairs in North America, and it is a route where US Preclearance matters. At Toronto Pearson, and at Billy Bishop, US Customs and Border Protection inspects you before you board. The CBP Preclearance page lists both Toronto airports and says travellers skip CBP and TSA inspection on arrival in the United States. For a LaGuardia passenger, that usually means you collect your bags and walk out without a customs queue at the other end.

That changes the planning. If you are travelling out of Toronto, a chauffeur can take you to the preclearance area at Pearson first; see Pearson airport limo for that leg. On the return you land in Toronto as a Canadian-bound arrival and the same desk can have a car waiting. It is the same booking system on both ends.
Most Air Canada and Porter flights are in Terminal B, so expect the Level 2 garage pickup described above. Check your boarding pass for the terminal.
LaGuardia to Midtown, Brooklyn, Queens and beyond: distances and drive times
All distances are road distances from the terminal area. Times are typical ranges; the traffic at LaGuardia is variable and the booker uses live conditions.
| Trip | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| LGA to Midtown Manhattan | about 13 km (8 miles) | 25–50 minutes |
| LGA to Lower Manhattan / Financial District | about 20 km (12 miles) | 35–65 minutes |
| LGA to Downtown Brooklyn | about 19 km (12 miles) | 30–60 minutes |
| LGA to Citi Field and the US Open site | about 4 km (2.5 miles) | 10–20 minutes |
| LGA to JFK | about 24 km (15 miles) | 30–60 minutes |
| LGA to Newark Liberty (EWR) | about 45 km (28 miles) | 50–90 minutes |
The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm, so there is no need to estimate it from a table. Cross-river trips to Newark are best planned with extra margin; read the Newark airport page and the JFK page if you are connecting between airports.
Congestion pricing and tolls in Manhattan
Since January 2025 New York has operated a Congestion Relief Zone in Manhattan. The MTA's page describes it as covering local streets and avenues south of and including 60th Street, excluding the FDR Drive, the West Side Highway and the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel connections to West Street. The charge depends on vehicle type, time of day and other factors, and it can apply to a for-hire car entering the zone. Bridge and tunnel tolls on the way into Manhattan are separate.

The point for a passenger is simple: the fare in the booker is the all-in fare you approve before payment. You do not tap, pay or reconcile a toll yourself. For the underlying rules, read the MTA's Congestion Relief Zone page.
Your options from LaGuardia compared
There is no single right answer at LGA. This is the honest picture.
| Option | Typical time to Midtown | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked chauffeur (Enroutz.ca) | 25–50 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Business arrivals, late flights, groups with luggage, anyone who wants a named driver |
| Yellow taxi | 25–50 minutes | Metered, with surcharges, tolls and congestion pricing added | Travellers who prefer to decide on the spot |
| Rideshare | 25–55 minutes | Surge-priced at peak times | Light bags, flexible plans |
| Q70 LaGuardia Link, then subway | 50–80 minutes | Lowest; the Q70 is free, subway fare applies | One bag, no schedule pressure |
| M60 bus to Upper Manhattan | 45–75 minutes | Low; local bus fare applies | Harlem, Morningside Heights, Columbia |
| Hotel shuttle | Varies | Usually free or low | Only if your hotel runs one |
The Q70 is a genuine bargain. The airport describes the Q70 LaGuardia Link as serving Terminals B and C and connecting to the Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue and 74 St–Broadway subway hubs, and it is free. From there the subway base fare is $3 as of 2026, paid by tapping a contactless card or phone, according to the MTA. If you are travelling light and your hotel is on a subway line, that is the lowest-cost route and we will say so plainly. Where it falls down is stairs, transfers and luggage after a flight.
When a chauffeur beats the taxi stand
A pre-booked car makes the most sense in these situations:
- Late arrivals. After a delayed evening flight the taxi line grows and the subway is a long walk. Your driver is already at the terminal.
- Business arrivals. A named driver, a quiet vehicle and Wi-Fi in most vehicles mean you can take calls on the way into the city. Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing are available through the corporate chauffeur service and the corporate accounts team.
- Families and groups. A Luxury SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 5–6 large bags. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking.
- Several stops. Dropping one passenger in Midtown and another in Brooklyn is simpler with one car than with two taxis.
- Event days. The area around LaGuardia is also the home of Citi Field and the national tennis centre. On match days the kerb fills fast.
Vehicles available for LaGuardia pickups
All vehicle classes are "or similar", with the exact model confirmed at booking.
- Executive Sedan: Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar; up to 3 passengers, 2 large bags and 2 cabin bags.
- First Class Sedan: Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar; up to 3 passengers, same bag allowance.
- Luxury SUV: Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar; up to 6 passengers and 5–6 large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter; up to 12 passengers and 12 bags.
- On request: mini-coach and coach (20 to 56 seats), Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine. Availability is confirmed at booking.
See the full fleet for details. Partner vehicles in the United States are no more than four model years old, and up to seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach.
LGA to other New York transfers
LaGuardia often comes first in a chain of transfers. A traveller might land at LGA, sleep at a Midtown hotel, then leave from Penn Station or a cruise terminal. The same booking approach applies to each leg.
- Hotels: The Plaza sits on the south edge of Central Park, roughly 14 km from LGA on a good run.
- Rail: New York Penn Station is the main hub for Amtrak and commuter rail.
- Cruise: the New York cruise port handles Manhattan and Brooklyn terminals.
- City guide: the New York car service page covers hourly hire, the city's neighbourhoods and the business districts.
For multi-day itineraries, an hourly booking can keep the same chauffeur with you; read about hourly chauffeur hire and the city-to-city car service if you are continuing to Boston or Washington.
What to expect on the day
- Before you leave Toronto. You receive the driver's details and the pickup point for your terminal.
- On landing. Switch your phone on. The driver already knows your flight status. If you are in Terminal B, head for the Level 2 garage pickup after baggage claim.
- At pickup. The driver loads the bags and confirms the destination. No payment is taken at the kerb; the fare was agreed at booking.
- On the road. The driver picks the route based on live conditions: Grand Central Parkway, the Queensboro Bridge, the Midtown Tunnel or the Triborough crossing, depending on where you are going and how the traffic is moving.
- At the other end. The driver drops you at the door of your hotel or office and helps with luggage.
Waiting time, cancellations and flight changes
For international arrivals the chauffeur waits up to 60 minutes after landing at no charge. For domestic arrivals the free waiting time is 30 minutes. The driver tracks the flight, so if you land early or late, the pickup moves with you.
Our cancellation terms are the same everywhere: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%, all measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events can carry a different deadline, which is stated on the confirmation.
Entry rules for arrivals in New York
Canadian citizens flying to New York need a valid passport. Travellers from other countries should check their own entry requirements before departure. The US Customs and Border Protection's ESTA page explains the online authorisation system used by Visa Waiver Program travellers, and says applications can be made at any time before travel and should be submitted as soon as plans are firm. ESTA does not guarantee entry; officers decide admissibility on arrival.
If you are connecting through Toronto on your way to New York, remember that preclearance happens at Pearson or Billy Bishop, not at LaGuardia. That is one reason the Toronto desk can plan your arrival so closely.
Discretion, privacy and security
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service, not a security company: there are no armed drivers and no bodyguards. We work alongside a client's own security team where one is travelling.
