Chauffeur service Dubai: one booking, a local partner at the kerb
A chauffeur service in Dubai works best when it is arranged before you land. Dubai International (DXB) has three terminals, a tolled road network and a city that stretches about 55 km along Sheikh Zayed Road alone. Enroutz.ca books the car with driver from Toronto: a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner drives, and our desk confirms the booking, tracks your flight and sends one invoice.
Whether you want a limo service in Dubai for a conference week, a black car for a family arriving at night, or an executive Sprinter for a delegation, the process is the same. Enter your pickup in the booker, choose a vehicle, and read the fixed fare before you pay.
What is the best way to hire a car with a driver in Dubai?

Pre-book a licensed chauffeur through a single desk. Your driver tracks the flight, meets you at the right DXB terminal, and drives to Downtown, DIFC, the Marina or the Palm on a fixed fare quoted before you pay. For the lowest cost, the Dubai Metro wins.
"Car with driver" in Dubai covers three different things: a licensed limousine company with a chauffeur, a hotel car, and a hired car plus a private driver sourced locally. We book the first kind. The partner holds the licence to carry passengers for hire, the vehicle is commercially insured, and the car is no more than four model years old (Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven).
Before you fly: entry rules and travel advice
Two checks come first. Global Affairs Canada's UAE travel advice, last updated on 10 August 2026, currently reads "Avoid non-essential travel", citing the volatile security situation in the region. Read the live page the week you travel; it changes.
On entry, the same page says Canadian citizens need a tourist visa that is obtained on arrival, free of charge, allowing 90 days in any 180-day period. Business and student visas must be arranged in advance, and the passport must be valid for six months beyond the date of entry. Other passports follow different rules, so check yours before you fly.
Which DXB terminal will your chauffeur wait in?
Dubai Airports lists three terminals, and each is a separate pickup point. As a rule, Emirates flies from Terminal 3, most other international airlines from Terminal 1, and flydubai and a few other carriers from Terminal 2. Airlines move between terminals, so your ticket decides. Your confirmation names the terminal for your flight, and your chauffeur tracks the live arrival rather than the schedule.

At Terminal 3 there is a formal system for pre-booked guests. Dubai Airports introduced DXB Greet & Go, a QR-code pickup service for guests collected by licensed hotels, limousine providers and tour operators. The provider registers the driver and vehicle, the guest scans a code at a kiosk in arrivals, and staff walk them to the car. That is one reason we use licensed partners only. For a name board inside arrivals instead, ask for the add-on described on our meet and greet page; an alias can go on the board for privacy.
On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, with flight tracking on every airport pickup.
From DXB to your hotel: how far, how long, how much
The brief for every airport transfer is the same: the exact fare for your address appears in the booker before you confirm. What we can tell you here are distances and typical times.

| Trip | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| DXB to Downtown Dubai (Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall) | about 14 km | 20 to 35 minutes |
| DXB to DIFC | about 11 km | 20 to 30 minutes |
| DXB to Dubai Marina and JBR | about 35 km | 35 to 55 minutes |
| DXB to Palm Jumeirah | about 40 km | 40 to 60 minutes |
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi city | roughly 140 km | 1 hour 30 to 2 hours |
Times assume normal conditions. Add time on a Thursday evening, during a major exhibition, or in the morning rush on Sheikh Zayed Road. The booker prices the exact route, and a flat all-in fare means you do not have to settle tolls separately.
Comparing ways to get from DXB into the city

| Option | Typical time to Downtown | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Metro (Red Line, Terminals 1 and 3) | 25 to 45 minutes, plus walking | Lowest | One bag, daytime, hotel near a station |
| Airport taxi (Dubai Taxi ranks at every terminal) | 20 to 35 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous arrivals, no booking |
| Ride-hailing (Uber, Careem, Bolt) | 20 to 40 minutes plus wait | Surge-priced at peak | Confident app users with data |
| Rental car | 25 to 45 minutes plus desk | Daily rate plus fuel and Salik | Self-drive trips beyond Dubai |
| Hotel shuttle or hotel car | Varies | Added to the bill | Convenience at a single hotel |
| Pre-booked chauffeur via Enroutz.ca | 20 to 35 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Night arrivals, families, executives, VIPs |
Dubai Airports confirms that the Red Line serves Terminals 1 and 3, running 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 5 am to 1 am on Friday and 8 am to midnight on Sunday, and that Dubai Taxi ranks operate 24/7 at each terminal. See the metro and taxi pages for current details. If you arrive with one bag at midday and your hotel sits beside a station, the Metro is a sensible choice. At three in the morning with a family and four cases, it is not.
Salik tolls and how Dubai fares are built
Dubai's road tolling is called Salik. It is barrier-free: gates over the road read a tag on the windscreen, and the toll is taken from an account without a stop. Since 2025 the toll varies by time of day, with peak, off-peak and overnight bands, according to Gulf press coverage in 2026, and rental cars use the same system through their rental company.
For you the practical point is simple. Every vehicle on Dubai roads needs a registered tag, and our partners' cars carry them. The fare in the booker is all-in for the route, so there is no toll line to chase after the trip. If you rent your own car instead, expect Salik charges to appear through the rental company, possibly with an administration fee; read the rental agreement.
Neighbourhoods and what each is like by car
- Downtown Dubai and Business Bay sit beside Sheikh Zayed Road. Allow extra time around the Dubai Mall on Friday and Saturday evenings and during fireworks and festival events.
- DIFC, the financial centre, is compact and close to Downtown; the Four Seasons DIFC page quotes about 11 km and 20 minutes from DXB.
- Dubai Marina, JBR and Palm Jumeirah are west of the city along the coast. Treat them as a 35 to 60 minute run from DXB, with the final kilometres slow in the evening.
- Dubai World Trade Centre is where Sheikh Zayed Road begins, at the Trade Centre Roundabout, and has stood since it opened in 1979.
- Expo City Dubai is the former Expo 2020 site, with its own Dubai Metro station on the Red Line and the Dubai Exhibition Centre. It sits in the south of Dubai, near the Abu Dhabi border.

Conferences, GITEX and the exhibition calendar
Business is the biggest reason people book a chauffeur in Dubai. GITEX Global 2026 is scheduled for 7 to 11 December 2026 at Expo City Dubai, with a one-day summit on 7 December and the expo from 8 to 11 December, according to GITEX Global. That is a move from the Dubai World Trade Centre, where the show was hosted until 2025. Plan your hotel and your shuttle loops around the new venue; our GITEX transport page and the Arabian Travel Market page cover show-day logistics, and the Dubai Airshow page covers the aviation show. Wider calendars sit on the trade shows hub.
For delegations, speakers and sales teams, we recommend a named dispatcher on the desk, a fixed loop between hotel and venue, and a spare vehicle in the pool. See meetings, incentives and conferences transport and corporate accounts.
DWC, private aviation and the future of Dubai's airports
Dubai has a second airport, Al Maktoum International (DWC), and a bookable ride sometimes starts there. Business aviation passengers should read our Dubai private aviation page. DWC is also central to Dubai's long-term plans: reports in September 2026 quote Dubai Airports' chief executive saying flydubai is expected to be the first airline to move part of its operation, with a handful of aircraft as early as 2027, and that the full move of DXB's traffic is tied to capacity rather than a date. Check your ticket for DXB or DWC before you book a pickup; the two airports are far apart.
The local week, the dress code and the law
The UAE moved its federal weekend to Saturday and Sunday on 1 January 2022, so Thursday night has a weekend feel on the roads, and Friday has a shorter government day. During Ramadan, expected to begin around 7 to 8 February 2027, the Government of Canada advises against eating, drinking or smoking in public from sunrise to sunset; restaurants in Dubai stay open and most government offices keep reduced hours.
On dress, women are not required to cover their heads, but revealing clothing is considered inappropriate, and public displays of affection can draw attention from the authorities. Alcohol is permitted in private homes and licensed venues only; being drunk in public is an offence. The legal blood-alcohol limit for drivers is zero. Photography of people needs permission, and drones need authorisation. Local law applies, so drinks on board are never promised. Read our Middle East hub for the wider region.
Flying from Toronto to Dubai, and arriving in Toronto from Dubai
If you are flying from Toronto to Dubai, the Toronto desk can take you to Pearson in an Enroutz.ca vehicle and book your Dubai chauffeur in the same transaction. The Toronto side of the trip is on our Pearson airport page.
If you are arriving in Toronto from Dubai, give the desk your flight number. The chauffeur tracks it and waits for 60 minutes after landing at no charge on international arrivals. First-time visitors can read the inbound Toronto airport transfer guide and the guide to travelling to Toronto. Frequent Gulf travellers may prefer hourly chauffeur time in Dubai, which keeps one driver and vehicle for the day.
Choosing the right vehicle for Dubai
Two executives with cabin bags are comfortable in a sedan: the Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) or the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar). Each takes up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. A family with a stroller, or a team with exhibition kit, is better in the Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar), which carries six passengers and five to six large bags.
Delegations use the Executive Sprinter, which seats up to twelve with twelve bags, and mini-coaches and coaches of 20 to 56 seats can run show-day shuttles on request. Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousines and armoured vehicles are also on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Every class is "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed when you book.
Partner cars are no more than four model years old, and the luxury marques no more than seven. Most carry Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers, and child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request; the VIP chauffeur page describes the discretion protocol. Armed drivers and bodyguards are outside what a chauffeur service offers, so we fit in beside a client's own security team. The fleet page shows each class, and the worldwide chauffeur network page explains how partner standards work.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a chauffeur in Dubai from Canada?
Yes. Enter the pickup in the booker and the desk confirms a fixed quote with a licensed local partner. You receive one confirmation and one invoice, and the Toronto desk is reachable 24 hours a day.
How far is Dubai Airport from Downtown?
DXB is about 14 km from Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa, usually 20 to 35 minutes by road. DIFC is about 11 km, Dubai Marina about 35 km and Palm Jumeirah about 40 km. The booker shows the exact fare for your address.
Which terminal does my chauffeur meet me at?
At the terminal your airline uses, which your confirmation names. Emirates uses Terminal 3 and most other international carriers use Terminal 1. At Terminal 3 pre-booked guests can use the DXB Greet & Go QR-code system.
Is there a charge for Salik tolls?
The fare shown in the booker is all-in for your route, so tolls are not a separate line to settle. Salik gates read a tag automatically and do not stop traffic.
How long will you wait if my flight is late?
Your chauffeur follows the flight, and free waiting runs 60 minutes after international landings, 30 after domestic ones and 15 on other pickups. Call the desk if immigration is slow.
Do you provide armed drivers or bodyguards?
No. Armed drivers and bodyguards are outside what a chauffeur service offers. We work with the security team a client already has, and armoured vehicles can be requested through vetted partners, with availability confirmed at booking.
What is the cancellation policy?
More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less, or a no-show: 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
Is it a good time to travel to Dubai?
Check the Government of Canada's current advice, which at the time of writing is "Avoid non-essential travel" for the UAE. The desk will tell you if a partner cannot cover your dates or an event schedule changes.
