Burj Al Arab chauffeur: a booked car at the end of a long flight
If you are flying from Toronto to Dubai, the journey is long, roughly 12 to 13 hours in the air, and you will want the last hour to be effortless. Enroutz.ca arranges a Burj Al Arab chauffeur from Dubai International (DXB), from Dubai World Central (Al Maktoum International, DWC), from the cruise terminals and from any address in the emirate. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner chauffeur delivers the ride. The Toronto desk books it, confirms it and invoices it, with one point of contact around the clock.
The hotel's official name on its own website is Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. Its sail-shaped silhouette is the landmark of the Jumeirah coast, and the hotel is operated by Jumeirah, so access to the building and to its approach is something the hotel sets. This page explains what we can arrange and what you should confirm with the hotel.
How do I get from Dubai airport to Burj Al Arab by private car?

Book a chauffeur with your flight number. The driver tracks the landing, meets you in arrivals and drives about 30 km (19 miles) west along the coast to Jumeirah, normally 30 to 50 minutes. Enter any pickup in the booker and the desk confirms a fixed quote before you pay.
Dubai Airports lists three terminals at DXB: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Its description of Terminal 3 says that gates A, B and C are mainly used by Emirates, flydubai, United and Air Canada, so most passengers flying from Toronto on a direct flight arrive at Terminal 3. Your confirmation will state the pickup point for the terminal on your ticket. Terminal-level detail is on the Dubai DXB airport page.
| Arrival point | Distance to Burj Al Arab | Typical drive time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai International (DXB) | About 30 km (19 mi) | 30–50 minutes | Three terminals; Terminal 3 serves most long-haul arrivals |
| Al Maktoum International (DWC) | About 60 km (37 mi) | 45–70 minutes | Dubai Airports gives DWC as about 60 km from DXB |
| Dubai cruise terminals | About 20–25 km (12–16 mi) | 25–50 minutes | See the cruise page for the terminal in use |
| Abu Dhabi | About 150 km (93 mi) | 1 hr 30 min–2 hrs | Intercity transfer |
All times are typical. The roads are quick off-peak and slow at the morning and evening commute, and traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road is heaviest on Thursday evenings.
Access to the hotel: what we know and what the hotel decides
Burj Al Arab sits on its own island, joined to the coast by a private bridge, and the hotel controls who may enter. Access rules are set by the hotel and can change, so we recommend the following:

- Confirm your hotel booking, or the dining or spa reservation that gives you access, directly with Jumeirah before the day of travel.
- Give the Enroutz.ca desk the name on the reservation, the reservation number if you have one and the number of guests.
- Tell the desk if you are a guest arriving for a stay or a visitor with a restaurant booking; the driver is briefed accordingly.
- If you are arriving for a stay, the hotel may offer its own arrival arrangements. Ask whether they are included in your rate before you add a separate car.
We do not publish the hotel's access policy because we do not set it and it can change. If there is any doubt, the hotel's reservations team is the source.
A hotel in the middle of a restoration
Jumeirah's own pages for the property describe a restoration of the hotel led by the French architect Tristan Auer, who has chosen what the hotel calls renewal over reinvention. The pages say that most of the hotel's décor and materials, including gold leaf, Statuario marble and Swarovski crystal, are being kept, along with the sail-shaped identity of the building. You can read the hotel's account on the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab page.

The practical point is that parts of a hotel under restoration can be closed, moved or reopened on dates the hotel decides. Before you pay for a restaurant booking or a particular suite, ask the hotel which outlets and floors are open for your dates, and give the desk the confirmed details so that the chauffeur arrives at the right door at the right time.
Land transport options from DXB
Dubai is easy to get around, and honest comparison matters. Dubai Airports states that Dubai Taxi Company taxis run around the clock from ranks in each terminal, with a starting fare of AED 25 and additional charges by distance, as of 2026. Uber, Careem and Bolt are also available through their apps, with marked signage to the pickup points. The official page is the Dubai Airports taxi page.

| Option | Typical time from DXB | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Metro plus taxi | 60–90 minutes | Lowest | Light luggage, patient travellers |
| Airport taxi rank | 30–50 minutes | Metered | One or two travellers, no pre-booking |
| App-based rideshare | 30–55 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Quick booking on arrival |
| Hotel arranged car | 30–50 minutes | Set by the hotel | Guests who deal only with the front desk |
| Enroutz.ca private chauffeur | 30–50 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Named driver, flight tracking, groups, late arrivals |
The metro is the lowest-cost route, but you would still need a taxi for the final stretch to a hotel on a private island. A metered taxi is simple, and you can catch one at any terminal. The private chauffeur earns its place on a long-haul arrival, for a family with luggage or a business arrival with an appointment shortly afterwards. It is not the only sensible choice, and for one traveller with a single bag, the rank is fine.
Meet and greet inside arrivals
A name-board meet-and-greet inside the arrivals hall is an optional add-on. An alias can be used on the board if you prefer your own name not to be shown. Without it, the driver waits at the pickup point stated in your confirmation. Dubai Airports notes that guests can find the transfer desk by following signs, using the interactive maps or asking Guest Experience Ambassadors. Details of the airport's own services are on its transfers information page.
Every airport pickup includes flight tracking. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, which is generous for the walk from the gate, passport control and baggage claim at DXB. Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes.
Arriving at Al Maktoum International or by private jet
Dubai World Central is formally named Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). Dubai Airports lists it separately from DXB and gives the distance between the two as about 60 km. Travellers connecting between them take a taxi or the Metro to Ibn Battuta station, from which a dedicated bus runs to DWC. For private flights and the airshow, see the Dubai DWC private aviation page and the Dubai Airshow page. The airport's own information is at dwc.dubaiairports.ae.
Etiquette and local rules to know
Dubai is welcoming and courteous, and a few points help. For the hotel and its restaurants, check dress codes with Jumeirah in advance. We never promise drinks on board; we never promise drinks on board, and local law applies. The weekend in the UAE is Saturday and Sunday, with Friday a shorter working day and midday prayers drawing traffic. During Ramadan, which moves earlier each year, working hours and traffic patterns change, and the desk will advise if your dates overlap.
Road tolls on Dubai's expressways are charged electronically at fixed gates. The booker's all-in fare includes the tolls on the route, so you do not settle them with the driver. Discretion is part of the service: chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request.
Choosing the right vehicle
The Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) takes up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. The First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) has the same capacity with more rear-seat space. The Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar) takes up to six passengers and five or six large bags, and the Executive Sprinter up to 12 passengers and 12 bags; the partner confirms the equivalent model locally. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, with Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers are in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. See the fleet page. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service, not a security company: no armed drivers or bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team.
Planning the rest of the trip
A stay at Burj Al Arab often sits alongside other bookings. For a longer visit, see the Dubai chauffeur service page for hourly hire and city transfers, the Atlantis The Royal page if you are splitting the stay, and the Emirates Palace page for the Abu Dhabi leg. Business travellers should look at the GITEX Global and Arabian Travel Market pages, and cruise passengers at the Dubai cruise port page. The Middle East hub and the hotels hub list other cities and properties, and a corporate accounts arrangement gives a company one monthly invoice.
Cancellations and changes
More than 72 hours' notice means no charge. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, which is stated on the confirmation. If your flight changes, the driver tracks it, and the desk is open 24/7.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Burj Al Arab from Dubai airport?
DXB is about 30 km (19 miles) from the hotel, and the drive normally takes 30 to 50 minutes. DWC is farther, about 60 km (37 miles) from DXB by Dubai Airports' figure, so allow 45 to 70 minutes from there.
Can anyone drive to Burj Al Arab?
Access is set by the hotel, which stands on its own island. Confirm your booking with Jumeirah and give the desk the reservation name so the driver can be briefed. We do not publish the policy because it can change.
How much does a chauffeur to Burj Al Arab cost?
The fare depends on the vehicle, the pickup and the time. Enter your pickup and the hotel in the booker and it shows the exact all-in fare before you pay. It is fixed once confirmed.
Which terminal will I arrive at from Toronto?
That depends on your airline. Dubai Airports says gates A, B and C in Terminal 3 are mainly used by Emirates, flydubai, United and Air Canada. Your booking confirmation states the pickup point for the terminal on your ticket.
Is a taxi less expensive than a private chauffeur from DXB?
A taxi from the rank is usually the lower-cost option for one or two travellers. A private chauffeur is a fixed fare via booker with flight tracking, a named driver and a vehicle sized to the group.
Is Burj Al Arab open during its restoration?
Jumeirah's website describes a restoration led by architect Tristan Auer. We cannot confirm which parts are open on your dates, so ask the hotel before you book dining or a particular suite.
Does the driver wait if my flight is delayed?
Yes. The driver tracks your flight, and international arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. The 24/7 desk can re-time a pickup if the delay is long.
Can I book a child seat for the ride?
Yes. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. State the child's age and weight when you book.
Does Enroutz.ca own cars in Dubai?
No. The ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and managed by the Enroutz.ca desk in Toronto.
