Hamad International Airport (DOH) is one of the few major Gulf hubs where a single large building does the work of several terminals, and that simplicity carries into the ground transfer. West Bay, the business and hotel district, is about 15 km away. A pre-booked Doha airport transfer replaces the question of which rank, which app and which fare with a named driver and a fixed fare quoted before you book.
What is the best Doha airport transfer from Hamad International?
For most visitors with luggage, a pre-booked chauffeur is the most predictable Doha airport transfer: a named driver, flight tracking and a fixed fare quoted before you pay. West Bay is about 15 km from Hamad International, and the airport also lists the metro and taxis as options.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based black car and chauffeur service. In Qatar the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach are accepted up to seven. We do not own vehicles or offices in Qatar.
This page is written for the traveller flying into Doha from North America, Europe or Asia, and for the Doha-based traveller who wants a reliable chauffeur at both ends of a long flight. For the wider city, see the Doha chauffeur service page.
One airport, no terminal to choose
Hamad International is organised around one main passenger building rather than a row of numbered terminals. The airport's website describes a departure area and transfer areas A and B, and lists shopping, dining, lounges, an on-site hotel and a spa for long layovers. For a pickup, that means you do not have to match a terminal letter to a chauffeur.

If you are connecting through Doha, the airport states that Transfer A and Transfer B are for passengers changing flights. A chauffeur booking applies only if you are leaving the airport. If you have a long layover and want to see the city, tell the desk your arrival time, your departure time and your visa situation, and plan the loop with an as-directed hourly booking. For this to work, check the official rules for transit visits on the airport's visa guide before you plan to leave the airport.
How the pickup works
Give the desk your flight number, passenger names, number of large bags and drop-off address. The partner tracks the flight and adjusts for early or late landings.

On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals. Immigration, baggage reclaim and customs can take a while after a long-haul flight, and because the fare is fixed at booking, a queue does not change what you pay.
A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board for privacy on request. The airport has its own meet and greet and fast-track offering called Al Maha Services, described as personalised assistance from arrival to departure. The two services can sit side by side: the airport's service helps you through the airport, and a chauffeur is the ride that follows. See our meet and greet service page for the details.
Water, phone chargers and Wi-Fi are in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. Alcohol is never promised on board, and Qatari law applies in the vehicle.
Entry: the Hayya platform and visas
Qatar manages visitor entry through the Hayya platform, described on its site as Qatar's digital platform for e-visa services, including applying for an e-visa and hosting family and friends. Visit Qatar states that Qatar offers visa-free entry to 102 nationalities, with an e-visa route for the rest, and that GCC nationals do not need a visa. Which route applies to your passport depends on your nationality and may change, so confirm on the Hayya website and the Visit Qatar site rather than from us. Check these before you buy a ticket, and again before you travel.

We do not process visas; having your documents in order before you fly is the quickest way to start your trip.
Doha airport to West Bay, Msheireb and Lusail: distances and times
Distances are approximate road figures and times assume normal traffic. The shortest drive is overnight; the slowest windows are the weekday morning and the late afternoon.

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| West Bay and the hotel strip | about 15 km (9 mi) | 20 to 40 minutes |
| Msheireb and Souq Waqif | about 12 to 15 km (7.5 to 9 mi) | 20 to 40 minutes |
| The Pearl-Qatar | about 20 to 25 km (12 to 15 mi) | 25 to 45 minutes |
| Lusail | about 30 km (19 mi) | 30 to 55 minutes |
The booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm. For hotels, give the full name and the district; Doha has several hotels with similar names.
Doha airport transfer compared with the alternatives
The airport's own site lists car rental, limousines, taxis, parking, buses, the metro and ride-hailing operators. Here is the practical picture.
| Option | Typical time to West Bay | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro | Varies by station and transfers | Lowest | Light luggage, daytime arrivals, travellers comfortable with a change |
| Taxi | 20 to 40 minutes | Metered | Short stays, one or two people |
| Ride-hailing | 20 to 40 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Flexible plans |
| Airport limousine desk | 20 to 40 minutes | Quoted by the operator | Arrivals without a booking |
| Rental car | Varies | Variable, plus parking | Visitors who will drive beyond Doha |
| Chauffeur via Enroutz.ca | 20 to 40 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Late arrivals, groups, executives, families |
If you land in the daytime with one bag and your hotel is near a metro station, the metro can be the lowest-cost and quickest option. A chauffeur is the better choice when you arrive in the small hours, travel with children, carry a lot of luggage or have a meeting soon after landing. See chauffeur vs rideshare for more.
Business travel, events and the diplomatic calendar
Doha concentrates business in West Bay, with conferences, ministries and embassies close to each other, and Lusail is the newer district to the north. Corporate clients can set up a corporate chauffeur account so that an assistant can book and track every leg with monthly invoicing. Planners moving delegates should read about meetings, incentives and conferences and group transportation, and the events hub lists the shows and venues we cover.
For talent and public figures, the VIP chauffeur service describes our discretion protocol. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company: we do not provide armed drivers or bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team.
Courtesy and custom in Qatar
Qatar is welcoming to visitors, and a few habits make your visit smoother.
- Dress. Choose modest clothing in public places: shoulders and knees covered, and light layers for strongly air-conditioned malls. Swimwear belongs at the pool or the beach.
- Behaviour. Keep voices low, keep displays of affection discreet and ask before photographing people, especially women and families. Avoid photographing government and security buildings.
- Alcohol. Alcohol is restricted and sold only in licensed venues. It is not carried or served in a chauffeur vehicle.
- Ramadan. The month moves each year with the lunar calendar. Many people fast during daylight, so avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public, and expect shorter office hours and a busy evening.
- Greetings. A handshake is customary in business. Wait for a woman or an elder to offer a hand first and use your right hand.
Your chauffeur follows your lead on conversation, music and temperature. The vehicle is yours for the journey.
Planning your first hours in Doha
Many long-haul flights reach Doha in the early hours or late at night, and that shapes the first morning more than the distance does. Hotels commonly set a standard check-in time in the afternoon, so ask your hotel in advance about an early room if you land at dawn, and tell the desk if you plan to go straight to a meeting. A chauffeur who has your flight number sees the landing time as the airline publishes it, so the pickup follows the aircraft, not the original schedule.
If your first appointment is at a venue rather than a hotel, give the desk the venue's full name, the entrance you have been told to use and a mobile number that works on arrival. Large venues have several gates, and the right one saves ten minutes at the end of the drive. For the return leg, build in time for check-in, and mention any hold baggage that is oversized.
Travellers who are routing through Doha to another Gulf city can book the onward leg in the same conversation. Ask the desk about the next city, and the same single confirmation and single invoice apply.
Women travelling alone, families and children
Women travelling alone, families and children are all routine passengers for a licensed chauffeur service. Families can request child, toddler and booster seats at booking; give the children's ages and weights so the right seat is fitted before the car arrives.
Vehicles and luggage
Vehicle classes are "or similar", with the exact model confirmed at booking.
- Executive Sedan: Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar, up to three passengers, two large and two cabin bags.
- First Class Sedan: Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar, up to three, two large and two cabin bags.
- Luxury SUV: Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar, up to six passengers and five to six large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: up to twelve passengers and twelve bags.
- Mini-coach and coach (20 to 56 seats), Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles on request; availability is confirmed at booking.
See the fleet page. Long Gulf trips often combine several cities; the Abu Dhabi airport page, the Dubai DXB page and the Bahrain airport page cover the neighbouring airports, and the Middle East hub lists the rest. The airports hub lists every airport we cover, and how the worldwide network works explains the single-invoice model.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice has no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, stated on your confirmation.

Does the chauffeur wait if my flight is late?
Yes. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked. We include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic.
Can I be met with a name board in arrivals?
Yes, as an add-on, with an alias on the board on request.
How much does the Doha airport transfer cost?
The booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm. We do not publish rates on this page.
