Chauffeur service Doha: arranged by one desk, driven by a licensed local partner
Doha is compact by Gulf standards, but it spreads across a bay, a lagoon and a growing northern edge. West Bay's towers, the Corniche, Souq Waqif, Education City and Lusail each have their own rhythm. A chauffeur service in Doha, booked from Toronto, gives you a driver who knows those rhythms and a single point of accountability if a flight moves.
Enroutz.ca books the car with driver; a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner drives it. The Toronto desk confirms the booking, tracks your flight and sends one invoice. We do not own cars or offices in Qatar, and we say so plainly.
What is the best way to get around Doha as a visitor?

For airport arrivals, hotel moves and meetings, a pre-booked chauffeur gives a fixed fare and a driver waiting at Hamad International. The metro is the lower-cost option and good for single trips to West Bay or Education City. Karwa taxis are metered and ride-hailing apps work as a backup.
Visit Qatar's getting around guide describes the options: turquoise Karwa taxis, a metro with Red, Green and Gold lines meeting at Msheireb station, free tram loops at Msheireb and Education City, and a Lusail tram that uses the same travel card as the metro. It also notes that Karwa app limousines come in Standard, VIP and Luxury categories. A chauffeur booking sits above all of those when you want a fixed fare and a named vehicle class.
Check the official advice and the entry rules
The Government of Canada's Qatar travel advice, last updated on 14 September 2026, says "Avoid non-essential travel" because of the volatile security situation in the region. Read the live page before you fly, because the level can change at short notice.

On entry, the same page says Canadians do not need a tourist or business visa for Qatar, but must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond departure and health insurance recognised by Qatar's Ministry of Public Health. Visas are required for study, work and residence. Visit Qatar's visa page explains that visa-free entry applies to 102 nationalities and that others use the Hayya platform for an e-visa. Rules differ by passport, so check yours.
Hamad International Airport (DOH): terminal, concourses and pickup
Hamad International opened to passengers on 30 April 2014. It works as a single large terminal with concourses. Concourses D and E opened in March 2025, and the central concourse features The Orchard, a large indoor tropical garden that opened in November 2023. Because you walk a long way between gates and arrivals, your driver's patience at the arrivals meeting point matters.

The Hamad International Airport website lists the ground options: car rental, limousines, taxis, buses, the metro and ride-hailing. It also describes a meet-and-greet and fast-track service from an airport services provider. Our own add-on is a name board inside arrivals, with an alias on the board for privacy on request; see the meet and greet page. The driver tracks your flight, and on international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.
For the airport page with the pickup procedure, see Doha Hamad (DOH).
A typical arrival, step by step
- You book in the booker, choose a vehicle class and receive a confirmation naming the terminal, the flight and the pickup plan.
- Your chauffeur tracks the flight from departure, so a delay or an early landing moves the pickup automatically.
- You clear immigration and collect your bags. Hamad is a large building, so expect a walk to arrivals.
- Your driver meets you at the agreed point, by name board if you chose the add-on, and helps with luggage.
- The car goes directly to your hotel, office or venue on the fixed fare you saw earlier.

If anything slips, call the desk. It is staffed 24 hours a day and speaks to the partner on your behalf.
Souq Waqif, Msheireb and old Doha
Visit Qatar notes that bargaining is expected at Souq Waqif and other traditional markets, that smoking is banned in public spaces including malls, restaurants and museums, and that a free tram loops around Msheireb Downtown Doha. For a short visit to that district, a chauffeur drops you at the nearest vehicle access point and returns when you call, which saves circling for parking. For a full-day tour with several stops, an hourly chauffeur booking is easier than hailing a new car each time.
From Hamad into the city: distances and times
| Trip | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| DOH to West Bay and the Corniche | about 15 km | 20 to 30 minutes |
| DOH to Souq Waqif and Msheireb | about 15 km | 20 to 30 minutes |
| Doha centre to Lusail | about 23 km | 25 to 40 minutes |
| DOH to Education City | check the booker | 25 to 40 minutes |
The Lusail figure comes from the distance between the city centre and Lusail, which lies north of the West Bay Lagoon. The booker gives the exact distance and fare for the airport to any address. Traffic builds at the school run, at the office rush and on Thursday evenings.
Comparing airport-to-West Bay options
| Option | Typical time | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doha Metro Red Line from the airport station | 20 to 35 minutes | Lowest | One bag, hotel near a station |
| Karwa taxi at the rank | 20 to 30 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous arrivals |
| Karwa app limousine or ride-hailing | 20 to 30 minutes plus wait | App-priced, can surge | App users with data |
| Rental car | 20 to 30 minutes plus desk | Daily rate plus fuel | Self-drive stays; Canadian licences cover short visits |
| Pre-booked chauffeur via Enroutz.ca | 20 to 30 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Night arrivals, families, executives, VIPs |
The Red Line airport branch opened in December 2019 and connects the terminal to downtown Doha. If you land with a single bag in the afternoon and stay beside a station, take the metro; it is the right answer. For a late-night arrival, a family, or a meeting within a few hours of landing, the chauffeur wins. The Government of Canada notes that a Canadian licence is valid for driving in Qatar for up to seven days, after which an international driving permit is needed.
West Bay, the Corniche and the business district
West Bay is where most visitors on business stay and work: towers, ministries, embassies, hotels and the Corniche promenade. Allow time at peak hours, when the road along the Corniche and the underpasses feed everything into a few exits. For a day of meetings, an hourly chauffeur booking keeps the same driver and car waiting between appointments, which suits executives who change location three times in a day. Our corporate accounts offer monthly invoicing for companies sending staff to Qatar.
Conferences at Education City and the Qatar National Convention Centre
The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) sits on Qatar Foundation's Education City campus, on Al Luqta Street, and opened on 4 December 2011. It includes a 4,000-seat conference hall and 52 meeting rooms across a large complex, so security checks and drop-off points at the venue matter. Ask the desk to confirm the entrance for your event before the morning of the show; a good dispatcher will walk the route with the partner.
For delegations, speakers and exhibitors, see meetings, incentives and conferences transport and the group transportation page. Wider calendars are on the trade shows hub.
Lusail: the stadium, the circuit and the new city
Lusail lies about 23 km north of the centre of Doha and is a planned city of towers, a marina, a mall district and Lusail Stadium, which holds more than 88,000 and hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. Nearby is Lusail International Circuit, where the Qatar Grand Prix is run. The official Formula 1 2026 calendar lists Qatar as a 27 to 29 November 2026 weekend; confirm any change there. On race and concert nights the roads are managed by the organiser, hotels fill, and the last mile from any hotel is slow. A chauffeur with a dedicated drop-off and a pre-arranged return window beats a search for a ride-hail pickup in a crowd.
Lusail also has a tram, with four lines and 25 stations, that links to the metro; for short trips within the district it is a pleasant alternative. See our events hub and event transportation page for large-venue logistics.
Culture, Friday and Ramadan
Qatar's customs and rules follow Islamic practice closely, as the Government of Canada notes. Visit Qatar's travel tips advise covering shoulders and knees, avoiding excessively revealing clothing, and avoiding public displays of affection. Commercial activity pauses for Friday prayers, roughly 10 am to 12 pm, and several shops stay closed on Fridays while malls open in the afternoon.
Qatar keeps a Friday and Saturday weekend. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 7 to 8 February, subject to the moon sighting. During fasting hours, avoid eating, drinking and smoking in public; hotels serve guests in restaurants out of public view. Public drinking is illegal, and drinking and driving is subject to a zero-tolerance policy. No drinks are promised on board. Photographing government buildings and military installations is illegal; drones need prior authorisation.
Flying from Toronto to Doha, and arriving in Toronto from Doha
If you are flying from Toronto to Doha, an Enroutz.ca vehicle takes you to Pearson and the Doha chauffeur is added to the same booking; see the Pearson page. If you are arriving in Toronto from Doha, the desk tracks your flight and the Toronto fleet waits at Pearson with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. First-time visitors can read the Toronto airport transfer guide and the travelling to Toronto guide. For the wider region see the Middle East hub, and for a Gulf neighbour the Bahrain page.
Vehicles for Doha
The most requested car in Doha is the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) for executives moving between West Bay meetings, with the Executive Sedan (E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar) as the standard alternative. Both seat three with two large and two cabin bags. Families and groups with golf bags or kit choose the Luxury SUV (Escalade, Suburban, Yukon Denali or similar) for six passengers and five to six large bags, and teams of up to twelve take the Executive Sprinter with twelve bags.
Mini-coaches and coaches (20 to 56 seats) are available on request for QNCC and Lusail event days, as are Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles, with availability confirmed at booking. Every class is quoted "or similar"; the model is fixed at booking. Partner cars are no older than four model years, and seven for the Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach marques.
Water, Wi-Fi and phone chargers are in most vehicles, and child, toddler and booster seats can be requested. Drivers keep quiet about who they carry: no photographs, no posts, and NDAs on request. We are a chauffeur company rather than a security firm; if you travel with protection, the driver works around your team. The fleet and VIP chauffeur pages have more.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Hamad International Airport from West Bay?
About 15 km, typically 20 to 30 minutes by road. The booker shows an exact fixed fare for your hotel or address before you pay.
Can I book a chauffeur in Doha from Canada?
Yes. Type the pickup address into the booker, or call the desk. A licensed local partner drives, and Enroutz.ca confirms the booking and sends one invoice.
Do Canadians need a visa for Qatar?
According to the Government of Canada, Canadians do not need a tourist or business visa for Qatar. They need a passport valid at least six months beyond departure and recognised health insurance. Check the live page and your own passport.
Is Doha metro a good option from the airport?
Yes, for single travellers with light luggage. The Red Line airport branch opened in December 2019 and connects to downtown Doha. A chauffeur is better for night arrivals, families and meetings soon after landing.
Which days are the weekend in Qatar?
Friday and Saturday. Business pauses around Friday midday prayers, and several shops stay closed on Fridays. Sunday is a normal working day.
How long will you wait at the airport?
Every airport pickup includes flight tracking. Waiting is free for 60 minutes after an international landing, 30 minutes after a domestic one and 15 minutes on other pickups.
Can a chauffeur take me to Lusail and back on an event night?
Yes, with a pre-arranged return window. Roads near the stadium and the circuit are managed by the organisers, so the desk agrees the drop-off and collection points in advance and quotes a fixed fare before you pay.
Is it safe to travel to Qatar right now?
Check the Government of Canada's live advice, which at the time of writing is "Avoid non-essential travel" for Qatar. We will tell you promptly if a flight or event change affects your booking.
