Nice Côte d'Azur is the gateway to the French Riviera, and almost every journey from it ends on the same crowded coast road. A pre-booked Nice airport transfer replaces the taxi-rank decision with a named driver, a tracked flight and a fixed fare. This page covers Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the drive to Monaco and Cannes, the helicopter alternative and the honest cases where a tram or a taxi is the smarter choice.
What is the best Nice airport transfer to Monaco, Cannes or Nice itself?
For most travellers with luggage, a pre-booked chauffeur is the most predictable Nice airport transfer: a named driver, flight tracking and a fixed fare quoted before you book. For a solo traveller heading to central Nice, the tram is quicker and lower in cost. Monaco and Cannes are about 30 km away by road.
The airport sits on the western edge of Nice, on the water, and most onward roads run along the coast or the parallel motorway. Travel time is therefore less about distance than about the hour: a Sunday morning in March and a Friday afternoon in July are different journeys on the same route.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based black car and chauffeur service. On the Riviera the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach are accepted up to seven. We do not own cars or offices in France.
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Nice Côte d'Azur
NCE has two terminals, linked by a free shuttle between them and the car parks. The airport's own airline pages assign carriers as follows at the time of writing, and you should always confirm against your ticket.

- Terminal 1 lists carriers including United, American Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Iberia, ITA Airways, Oman Air and Air India.
- Terminal 2 lists carriers including Air Canada, WestJet, Delta, Air France, KLM, Aer Lingus, Emirates, Etihad, Saudia and easyJet.
So a traveller on a Canadian carrier from Toronto will usually find that their airline appears under Terminal 2 on the airport's pages, while a connecting traveller from a US hub may land in either. Because the desk tracks the flight, the chauffeur sees the terminal as the airline publishes it, and you do not need to message anyone if it changes.
Terminal 2 has recently changed. The airport says the Terminal 2 extension is in service, with new routes for check-in and boarding and some gates in new locations, and it advises passengers to allow extra time and to check the gate number carefully. For departures, plan for that extra walking when you tell the chauffeur your pickup time.
Read the Terminal 2 page on the airport's website for the current airline list.
How your Nice airport pickup works
Give the desk your flight number, passenger names, number of large bags and drop-off address. The partner tracks the flight and adjusts for early and late arrivals.

On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals. A queue at passport control does not change the fare because the fare is fixed at booking.
A name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias name on the board for privacy on request. This is useful in a terminal that fills with several flights at once; read about the meet and greet service. The airport also sells its own meet and greet, but ours is part of one booking with your onward ride.
Water, phone chargers and Wi-Fi are in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. Alcohol is never promised on board, and French law applies.
Nice to Monaco chauffeur: distance, time and options
Monaco is about 30 km from the airport, and the drive usually takes 35 to 55 minutes, with the upper end typical of summer afternoons and event weeks. There are four real ways to do it.

- Chauffeur. Door to door, flight-tracked, with luggage handled for you. Best for hotel arrivals, groups and anyone with a time-critical commitment.
- Taxi. The airport publishes fixed-rate taxi fares for 2026 for set destinations, including Monaco, and a rank at both terminals. This can be the lower-cost choice for one or two people.
- Bus 80. The airport lists Bus 80 serving Monaco and Menton from stops at both terminals. It is the lowest-cost road option, with luggage and stops to match.
- Helicopter. The airport says a helicopter service runs year-round between Nice and Monaco (and from Saint-Tropez and Saint-Raphaël), with Blade and Heli Air Monaco listed as operators. It is the fastest way to cross the last stretch, but you still need ground transport at both ends.
If you take the helicopter, a chauffeur can wait for you at either end; see the private aviation hub and the Nice business aviation page, which cover the airport's separate business aviation terminal.
For Monaco itself, the Monaco Grand Prix page covers closures and event-week planning, and the Nice and Monaco city page covers the principality in general.
From the airport to Cannes, Antibes, Saint-Tropez and beyond
Distances and times are approximate road figures for normal traffic and will vary through the day.

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Nice city centre | about 7 km (4 mi) | 15 to 30 minutes |
| Antibes and Juan-les-Pins | about 15 km (9 mi) | 20 to 40 minutes |
| Cannes | about 30 km (19 mi) | 35 to 55 minutes |
| Monaco | about 30 km (19 mi) | 35 to 55 minutes |
| Menton | about 40 km (25 mi) | 45 to 70 minutes |
| Saint-Tropez | about 100 km (62 mi) | 1.75 to 3 hours in summer |
Saint-Tropez deserves a warning. In high summer, the coast road into the peninsula can be slow, and a morning arrival at NCE does not always mean an easy lunch in the village. If you are on a tight schedule, consider the helicopter service the airport describes for Saint-Tropez, and keep the chauffeur for the other end. For a stay at the peninsula, an hourly booking works well: see hourly chauffeur service.
Nice airport transfer compared with the alternatives
The airport's own getting-to-and-from pages list the tram, buses, taxis, the train and car rental. These are the real alternatives, with an honest verdict for each.
| Option | Time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tram (Route 2) to Nice centre | under 30 minutes, every 7 to 8 minutes on weekdays | Lowest | Solo travellers staying in the city, light luggage |
| Bus 80, 81 or 82 | Varies by route and traffic | Low | Monaco, Cannes or Antibes with a single bag |
| Taxi from the rank | 15 to 55 minutes | Metered or fixed set fares | Short stays, one or two people |
| Rental car | Varies | Variable, plus parking | Touring inland, comfortable on narrow roads |
| Helicopter | A short flight | Highest | Time-critical Monaco or Saint-Tropez moves |
| Chauffeur via Enroutz.ca | 15 to 55 minutes | Fixed fare via booker | Luggage, groups, events, children, tight schedules |
If you are alone with a cabin bag and staying near a tram stop in Nice, take the tram. The airport says Route 2 serves both terminals and runs to Jean Médecin and Port Lympia in under 30 minutes, which is hard to beat. The airport's public transport page has the current detail. For Monaco, the airport's taxi page lists 2026 fixed-rate taxi fares from the airport, so a solo traveller may find a taxi lower in cost; a chauffeur wins when there is luggage, a group, a gala to dress for, or a deadline. See also chauffeur vs rideshare.
Festival, Grand Prix and summer season on the coast
The Riviera has a handful of weeks when the road system is under real strain.
- Cannes Film Festival is usually held in May. Hotels and the Croisette fill, and the drive from NCE to Cannes lengthens at both ends of the day. Plan your pickup times with the Cannes Film Festival page open.
- Monaco Grand Prix week closes streets in the principality. The Monaco Grand Prix chauffeur page explains how drop-offs near the circuit are handled.
- July and August bring beach traffic and coach tours to the same roads. A morning arrival is calmer than an afternoon one.
Large events may carry a different cancellation deadline, which will be stated on your confirmation.
Business aviation and the other Riviera airports
Many clients arrive by private aircraft. The airport describes a Business Aviation Terminal of 1,510 square metres with its own customs post, and a separate Helicopter Terminal. Cannes Mandelieu and Golfe de Saint-Tropez are also listed in the airport group's business aviation menu. See the airport's business aviation page for operators.
A chauffeur can be booked to meet you at any of these facilities, subject to access rules that differ by terminal. Tell the desk the aircraft registration and the handling agent, and the booking will be confirmed with the right arrangements.
Documents: what to check before you fly
Entry rules depend on your nationality and change over time, so check with the official source rather than rely on a summary. The airport's travel documents page notes that travellers to the United States need an approved ESTA applied for at least 72 hours ahead, and that travellers to Canada need an electronic travel authorisation, ideally at least 72 hours before the flight. If you are flying onward from the Riviera to North America, sort those out before you arrive at NCE.
See the airport's travel documents guidance and your airline's instructions for the rest.
Vehicles, luggage and groups
Vehicle classes are "or similar", with the exact model confirmed at booking.
- Executive Sedan: Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar, up to three passengers, two large and two cabin bags.
- First Class Sedan: Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar, up to three, two large and two cabin bags.
- Luxury SUV: Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban or similar, up to six passengers and five to six large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: up to twelve passengers and twelve bags.
- Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles on request; availability is confirmed at booking.
Many Riviera hotels and villas are on narrow streets, so tell the desk if you are travelling with more than two large cases per person. A Luxury SUV is often easier than two sedans. See the fleet page and group transportation.
Discretion and corporate travel
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. If you are travelling with talent or a principal, read about the VIP chauffeur service. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company, so there are no armed drivers or bodyguards; we work alongside a client's own security team. Corporate clients can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing.
Nice as part of a wider Europe trip
The Riviera often sits between a stop in Paris, Milan or Geneva. The same desk can book the whole sequence with one invoice: Paris CDG, Milan Malpensa and Geneva are covered, as is the Europe hub and the full airports hub.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice has no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
