CDG chauffeur: why Paris arrivals reward planning
Paris-Charles de Gaulle is a big, sprawling airport about 25 km north-east of central Paris, and it has a reputation. Terminals are far apart, signs change meaning between halls, and the road into the city carries heavy traffic on the A1 and the Paris ring road. A CDG chauffeur does not make the traffic disappear. What it does is take away the other decisions: where to stand, which taxi queue to join, whether the driver speaks your language, and what the fare will be.
Our desk is in Toronto. In France the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, while our desk books, confirms and invoices it. You get a single confirmation, a single invoice and one point of contact at any hour of the day or night. We do not own vehicles or offices in France. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, up to seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach.
On request we can also look for a Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine or armoured vehicle, subject to availability confirmed at booking. "Or similar" applies to every class, with the exact model confirmed at booking. See the fleet for more.
Enter your flight number, the Paris address and your party size. The online booker shows the exact all-in fare for that route and vehicle before payment.
Which CDG terminal will I arrive at, and where do we meet?

CDG has Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Terminal 2 is divided into several halls. Your airline decides which you use. We read the terminal from your flight number, tell the chauffeur and state the meeting point in your confirmation; a name-board greeting in arrivals can be added.
The three terminals are not walking distance from each other. An automated shuttle connects them, but if you are meeting a chauffeur at the wrong terminal you will lose a quarter of an hour. That is the central reason to pre-book: the desk sends the chauffeur to the terminal and hall on your itinerary, tracks changes, and keeps you informed.
We have not been able to open the airport operator's detailed pages on pick-ups in preparing this article, so we do not give a door number or kerb here. The airport operator, Groupe ADP, publishes its current rules at parisaeroport.fr, and your confirmation will state the arrangement for your terminal. For a more personal greeting, our meet and greet service places the chauffeur inside the arrivals area with a board, and an alias name can be used for privacy.
Arriving from Toronto: borders, bags and the long wait
A flight from Toronto to Paris is an international arrival into the Schengen area. You pass passport control before baggage claim, and queue lengths depend on the hour and the number of flights that have landed together. The morning wave of transatlantic arrivals can be slow. Our free waiting period on international arrivals is 60 minutes after landing, which is meant to absorb the border queue and a slow bag.

Europe's entry systems are changing. The European Union's official page for the new Entry/Exit System and ETIAS is at travel-europe.europa.eu. We could not confirm the current operating status from that page, so we do not state dates here; please check it before you travel, along with the guidance from the French authorities.
If you are starting from Toronto, our Pearson Airport limo page covers the departure end, and our Toronto airport transfer guide is written for visitors landing there.
Distances from CDG

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Central Paris (Champs-Élysées, Opéra) | about 28 km | 40 to 90 minutes |
| Eiffel Tower and the 7th arrondissement | about 35 km | 50 to 100 minutes |
| Le Bourget Airport (private aviation) | about 12 km | 15 to 30 minutes |
| Disneyland Paris | about 35 km | 35 to 60 minutes |
| Versailles | about 60 km | 60 to 100 minutes |
| Paris Orly Airport | about 60 km | 60 to 100 minutes |
Times in the table are typical outside the worst peaks. The A1 motorway and the Boulevard Périphérique can fill from about seven in the morning, and they fill again from late afternoon. An accident on either can double a journey. A driver on the road every day will see the trouble developing before you do.
Paris hotels: Golden Triangle, Left Bank and the Marais
Most visitors go to one of three areas. The Golden Triangle between the Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V is the business and luxury hotel district. The Left Bank around Saint-Germain-des-Prés is quieter and more residential. The Marais is lively and has narrow streets where large vehicles struggle.

Paris streets are narrower than most North American ones, and many hotels have no space for a car to wait. A chauffeur who knows the entrance, the doorman and the way the street works will save you time. For the city itself, see our Paris chauffeur service page, and for one iconic address, our page on the Ritz Paris. The Paris Region's official tourism site, VisitParisRegion, is a good source for what to see.
Honest comparison: CDG to central Paris by every option
The RER B suburban train is the classic public option, and it can be perfectly good. It runs from CDG into central Paris with several stops, and the journey takes about 35 to 45 minutes; it is low-cost, but it can be crowded, and stairs and platform changes are hard with several large bags.
| Option | Typical time to central Paris | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| RER B suburban train | about 35 to 50 minutes | Lowest | Solo travellers with light luggage |
| Airport bus | about 60 to 90 minutes | Low | Budget travellers with time |
| Taxi | 40 to 90 minutes | Metered with official flat-rate fares for central Paris | Spontaneous trips; confirm current terms |
| Ride-hail app | 40 to 90 minutes plus waiting | Surge-priced | Short notice |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 40 to 90 minutes door to door | Fixed fare via booker | Families, heavy luggage, early meetings, privacy |
The train wins on price, and we do not pretend otherwise. The chauffeur wins when you have more than one large bag, when you are arriving with children or an elderly relative, when it is the middle of the night, or when you have a meeting an hour after landing and cannot afford to hunt for a platform.
Disneyland Paris, Versailles and day trips
Disneyland Paris is about 35 km from CDG, and the drive normally takes under an hour. It is a popular first stop for families who land in the morning and do not want to go into the city first. A Luxury SUV with 5 to 6 large bags fits a family of five with their luggage. Versailles is about 60 km away on the opposite side of the city and is easier to visit as a separate day, using an hourly booking.
Other options include Champagne, Giverny and Chantilly. We can quote a fixed fare for any of them. Our hourly chauffeur service explains how hours are counted, and our private tours with driver page covers touring days.
Fashion Week, trade fairs and business arrivals
Paris hosts major fashion weeks, trade fairs and conferences. Hotels fill and roads close around venues, and hourly traffic patterns change. If you are travelling for an event, give the desk the venue and the hotel, and book the airport pickup and the return in one booking. See our pages on event transportation and trade show transportation.
For private jet arrivals, Paris Le Bourget is about 12 km from CDG and has its own procedures. For rail connections, the Gare du Nord chauffeur page covers Eurostar arrivals. Corporate travellers can open a corporate account for monthly invoicing.
Vehicles at CDG
For a solo traveller or a couple, an Executive Sedan is enough: a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, a Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar, with space for three passengers, two large bags and two cabin bags. A First Class Sedan (a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a BMW 7 Series or similar) offers the same capacity with a quieter cabin, which is welcome after a night flight.
A family of five arriving with suitcases and strollers should ask for a Luxury SUV, such as a Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Yukon Denali or similar, which seats six and takes five to six large bags. Twelve travellers and twelve bags go in an Executive Sprinter, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Larger groups can ask for a mini-coach or coach of 20 to 56 seats.
Language and etiquette on the road
You do not need French for a chauffeur ride. If you want a French-speaking or English-speaking driver, say so when you book; we can try to match, but we do not promise a language outside what the partner can confirm. A short greeting in French is always welcome. Drivers in France typically open the door and handle luggage, and a tip is appreciated but not mandatory.
A first night in Paris: practical notes for arrivals
If you land in the morning from Toronto, your hotel room may not be ready until early afternoon. Tell the desk, and ask the hotel whether luggage can be left at the front desk. A chauffeur can drop you at the hotel, then take you on to a first meeting or lunch, and you can collect the luggage later. For arrivals on a late flight, check the hotel's night-reception arrangements before you leave the airport, because small Parisian hotels sometimes lock the street door after a certain hour.
For general planning of your stay, France.fr, the national tourism board's site, has destination guides and practical information. Neither the board nor the airport can tell you what the traffic will do at six on a Thursday evening; the chauffeur's local knowledge is the closest substitute.
Waiting time, delays and cancellations
Flights are tracked on every airport pickup, and a delay moves the pickup time at no cost. Once you have landed, free waiting is 60 minutes on international arrivals, 30 on domestic arrivals and 15 on other pickups. Cancellation is timed from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice costs nothing; 72 hours or less is 10 percent; 48 hours or less is 50 percent; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, is 100 percent.
Children, comfort and privacy
Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. Please give ages and weights at booking. Most cars have Wi-Fi, bottled water and chargers on board. Chauffeurs keep trips private: no photographs, no social posts, and an NDA on request. We never promise alcohol on board, and local law applies. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company: no armed drivers, no bodyguards. We work alongside your own team.
Beyond Paris
Many travellers connect from CDG to other European cities. Compare the Frankfurt chauffeur page, the London Heathrow chauffeur page and our Europe hub. For every gateway, see the airports directory.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Charles de Gaulle from central Paris?
About 25 to 28 km depending on the district. The drive takes 40 to 90 minutes depending on traffic on the A1 and the ring road.
Which terminal will my flight use at CDG?
CDG has Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Terminal 2 has several halls. Your airline decides, and we read the terminal from your flight number.
Is a CDG chauffeur better than the RER train?
For one traveller with light luggage, the RER B is low-cost and fast. A chauffeur is better with heavy bags, children, night arrivals or a tight schedule.
Where does my chauffeur meet me at CDG?
The confirmation names the meeting point for your terminal. You can add a name-board greeting in the arrivals area.
How long will the chauffeur wait if passport control is slow?
On an international arrival the chauffeur waits 60 minutes free after you land. Flights are tracked, so a late flight moves the pickup.
Can you take me from CDG to Disneyland Paris?
Yes. It is about 35 km from the airport, usually under an hour. A Luxury SUV suits a family with luggage.
Do Canadians need a visa for France?
Entry rules for the Schengen area are set by the EU and France and are changing with new border systems. Look at the EU's official page and your own government's travel advice before departure.
How much does the transfer cost?
We do not publish rates. Nothing is published: the booker quotes the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you pay, and it stays fixed.
Can I book a French-speaking chauffeur?
Tell us when you book. We try to match language requests, but we only confirm what the partner can provide.
