Gare du Nord chauffeur service for Eurostar passengers arriving in Paris

Gare du Nord is where London arrives in Paris. Passengers who boarded an Eurostar at St Pancras step onto the platform two and a quarter hours later, stretch their legs and discover the station concourse full of people with the same idea: find a way out, quickly. The queue for a taxi, the confusion of an unfamiliar metro map and the weight of two large suitcases are all familiar to first-time visitors. A gare du nord chauffeur is the quiet alternative. Someone you have already met by message holds a board with your name, takes the bags and has the car outside.

Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service with its home desk in Toronto. In Paris the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, and it is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk. You deal with one desk, receive one confirmation and one invoice, and have one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach vehicles no more than seven. We do not own vehicles or offices in France; the Toronto desk is the point of control.

Book before you travel. Give the desk your Eurostar train number and the address in Paris. Your chauffeur follows the actual arrival, meets you at an agreed point, helps with luggage and drives you to the door. The online booker shows the exact fare for your address before you pay.

The reason this works better than improvising is simple. A big city terminus handles many train arrivals in short succession, and your driver is only useful if the driver knows your train, not your estimated hour. The more precise your details, the closer the chauffeur can time the meeting. For a connection between two cities, you also want continuity: the same desk that books your London chauffeur can book Paris, so your confirmation and invoice stay in one place. See our page on St Pancras for the London end of the same journey.

About Eurostar and the Paris end of the line

Eurostar's own site gives the London to Paris journey as about 2 hours 16 minutes, direct from city centre to city centre. It lists Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Disneyland Paris, Rotterdam, Bruges and Lille among its top routes from London, and says connections to Switzerland, including Geneva and Zurich, run on TGV Lyria from Paris. Its travel-information page states that there is no need to check in for Eurostar; you scan your ticket at the ticket gate.

Platform numbers, the position of the taxi rank and the arrangements for cars are set by the station operator and change with works, so we do not print them here. Follow the signage in the station and the notes in your booking confirmation. Your chauffeur confirms the meeting point before you arrive, and we do not guess it.

Where your driver meets you

Because station layouts, works and security arrangements change, the meeting point is stated in your booking confirmation and repeated by message on the day. This is the normal sequence:

Passenger on a station platform beside a train
Passenger on a station platform beside a train
  1. When you book, you give the desk the train number, the arrival time and the lead passenger's name.
  2. The chauffeur follows the train in real time. A late Eurostar does not mean a wasted wait.
  3. Before arrival you receive the driver's name, the vehicle and the meeting instructions.
  4. With a name-board meet-and-greet, the driver holds a board with your name, or an alias for privacy, at the agreed spot.
  5. Bags are carried to the car and you are on your way, with no rank or metro map in between.

On pickups that are not airports, 15 minutes of waiting is included from the scheduled arrival.

Gare du Nord compared with the other ways into Paris

Paris has an excellent public transport network, and for some travellers it is the right choice. This is an honest comparison.

MetroAbout 15–30 minutes, depending on the lineLowestLight luggage and destinations on a direct line

If you travel alone with one carry-on and your hotel is beside a metro stop, the metro is quick and inexpensive. A chauffeur is the better choice when the group has three or more people, when there are large suitcases, when it is late, or when the day begins with a meeting.

From Gare du Nord to the airports

Many Eurostar passengers continue by air. Distances below are approximate, and driving times vary a good deal with the hour and the day.

RouteDistance (about)Usual drive timeNotes
Gare du Nord to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)25 km (16 miles)35–70 minutesNorth-east of the city; RER B also serves it
Gare du Nord to Paris Orly (ORY)20 km (12 miles)35–65 minutesSouth of the city, across Paris
Gare du Nord to Le Bourget (LBG)12 km (7.5 miles)20–40 minutesBusiness aviation and the Paris Air Show site

Paris Aéroport publishes access information for its airports on its own site; the page is a good companion to this one. For the airport side of the transfer, read our pages on Paris CDG, the Le Bourget business-aviation terminals and the broader Paris chauffeur service.

Golden Triangle hotels, La Défense and the Left Bank

Most guests from the Eurostar head to one of a few districts.

  • The Golden Triangle (8th arrondissement) and Place Vendôme: about 5 km (3 miles), usually 20–40 minutes. Our page for Ritz Paris covers one of the best-known addresses.
  • The Eiffel Tower and the Left Bank: about 7 km (4.5 miles), usually 25–45 minutes.
  • La Défense: about 10 km (6 miles), usually 25–50 minutes. Corporate towers and conference rooms.
  • Paris Expo Porte de Versailles: about 11 km (7 miles), usually 30–55 minutes. The exhibition hall for large trade fairs.
  • Gare de Lyon: about 6 km (4 miles), usually 25–45 minutes. For onward trains to the south-east.

Fashion weeks, trade fairs and major events change the picture. During those weeks, ask the desk to build in extra time and, if useful, stage a second vehicle.

Day trips: Disneyland Paris, Versailles and beyond

A chauffeur is often the simplest way to include a family day out. Eurostar lists Disneyland Paris as a route from London, and the resort is east of Paris at about 40 km (25 miles), usually 45–80 minutes by road from Gare du Nord. Versailles is about 25 km (16 miles) to the south-west, usually 45–80 minutes, depending on traffic. For these trips, an hourly chauffeur or a private tour with a driver can wait while you explore and bring you back.

Entry rules for visitors

Entry rules for France follow the Schengen area's, and they are being updated for the Entry/Exit System and the European Travel Information and Authorisation System. We could not open a page that states the current status of those systems, so we do not summarize them. Consult the European Union's official travel portal and the French authorities for the rules that apply to your passport and travel date. If your trip continues to the United Kingdom, check the GOV.UK ETA page as well. We are a chauffeur service and cannot give immigration advice.

Planning a multi-city itinerary

The Toronto desk handles chains of rides as one booking. A typical itinerary for a business traveller might be: a Toronto chauffeur from home to Pearson, a flight to London, a London chauffeur to St Pancras, Eurostar to Paris, a Paris chauffeur from Gare du Nord to the hotel, and a final airport run. Each leg is delivered by the right local partner and confirmed in the same document. See how the worldwide network works and the Europe hub for other cities. Looking at the Alps afterwards? The Geneva chauffeur service covers that route.

Vehicles and luggage

Classes are shown with "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed at booking.

  • Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6/Lyriq or similar): up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
  • First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar): up to 3 passengers with the same bag allowance and extra rear-seat room.
  • Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar): up to 6 passengers and 5–6 large bags.
  • Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter): up to 12 passengers and 12 bags.

Mini-coach and coach (20–56 seats), Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Most vehicles carry Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers. Child, toddler and booster seats can be requested at booking. See the full fleet.

Discretion, accounts and cancellations

Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. Corporate accounts come with monthly invoicing; see corporate accounts for details. The desk is open 24 hours a day.

Cancellation terms are measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge, 72 hours or less 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%. Large events and trade fairs may carry a different deadline, stated on your confirmation.

Official sources and next steps

The Eurostar page on travelling to Paris is the source for the journey time, and the full list of routes and current offers is on the Eurostar home page. Paris Aéroport's passenger access page describes how its airports connect with the city. For other stations, visit the train stations hub, and for airports, the airports hub. You can enter any pickup worldwide in the booker, and the desk confirms a fixed quote.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book a chauffeur at Gare du Nord?

Enter your Eurostar train number, arrival time, passenger name and Paris address in the online booker. The desk confirms a fixed fare, the vehicle class and the chauffeur's details in writing, and you receive one invoice. Changes go through the same desk.

How long is the Eurostar journey from London to Paris?

Eurostar's website gives about 2 hours 16 minutes, direct from city centre to city centre. Delays can occur, which is why your driver follows the actual train rather than the timetable. Tell the desk if you change trains.

Where will my driver meet me at Gare du Nord?

The exact point is confirmed in your booking and by message before you arrive, because station layouts and works change. With a name-board meet-and-greet, the chauffeur waits at the agreed spot holding a board with your name or an alias.

How far is Gare du Nord from Charles de Gaulle Airport?

About 25 km (16 miles), and usually 35–70 minutes by road, depending on traffic. RER line B is a lower-cost alternative that suits one traveller with one bag. A chauffeur suits groups, heavy luggage and early flights, and the booker shows the exact fare.

Is the metro or a taxi cheaper than a chauffeur?

Yes, the metro is the lowest-cost option, and a taxi is metered. A chauffeur is a fixed fare, quoted before you pay. For a single traveller with one bag, public transport is often best. For families, groups and tight schedules, the chauffeur saves time and uncertainty.

Can you take me from Gare du Nord to Disneyland Paris?

Yes. The resort is about 40 km (25 miles) east of the city, usually 45–80 minutes by road. You can book a one-way transfer or an hourly chauffeur who waits and returns you. Child, toddler and booster seats can be requested at booking.

Does Enroutz.ca have its own cars in Paris?

No. In Paris the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by the Enroutz.ca desk. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, and luxury marques no more than seven.

Can I book a car for a fashion-week or trade-fair day?

Yes. Give the desk your venue, times and passenger count. During busy weeks, ask for extra time between stops, and a second vehicle can be requested. The desk confirms the plan and the fixed fare in writing.

Do chauffeurs wait if the Eurostar is late?

Yes. The driver follows the real arrival. On pickups that are not airports, 15 minutes of waiting is included from the scheduled arrival, and the desk adjusts the meeting time if the delay is long.
