Seattle airport car service for business, cruise and cross-border travellers
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, known as Sea-Tac, serves a region that does not behave like one city. There is downtown Seattle to the north, the tech corridor to the east around Bellevue and Redmond, the cruise piers on the waterfront, Tacoma to the south, and the Canadian border a couple of hours north. A good Seattle airport car service starts by asking which of those you are really going to.
Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur desk based in Toronto, and Seattle is part of the Toronto, Seattle and Vancouver triangle that many of our travellers fly. The Seattle leg is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner; our desk books it, confirms it and invoices it. One booking, one invoice, one contact at any hour. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old, with Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
Add your flight, your destination and the number of travellers to the online booker, and it displays the exact all-in fare for that vehicle before you pay.
How do limousine and chauffeur pickups work at Sea-Tac?

Sea-Tac regulates pre-arranged limousines: the airport says they must be chauffeur-driven, unmetered and unmarked luxury vehicles. Your confirmation states the meeting point for your terminal. A chauffeur can also meet you inside arrivals with a name board if you add that service.
The Port of Seattle, which runs the airport, publishes a ground transportation page that lists a Ground Transportation Information Booth on the third level of the SEA Airport Parking Garage, a cell phone lot with about 200 spaces and free Wi-Fi across from the South 170th Street exit of the Airport Expressway, and separate pages for light rail, ride-app pickups, taxis and rental cars. The airport's rule for pre-arranged limousines is the one that matters to you: the vehicle must be a chauffeur-driven, unmetered, unmarked luxury car.
That requirement shapes what we send. A Sea-Tac pickup is a genuine chauffeur job, not a rideshare in a nicer car. If you want to read the rules directly, see the Port of Seattle ground transportation page. We do not quote a specific pickup level for limousines, because we could not confirm one from the airport's pages; the confirmation will carry the current instruction.
Flying in from Toronto: the arrival end
Flights from Toronto Pearson to Seattle normally go through US preclearance in Toronto. US Customs and Border Protection states that precleared travellers bypass CBP and TSA inspections on arrival in the US. So you generally land at Sea-Tac as a domestic passenger and head to baggage claim.

For international arrivals from other airports, the airport advises arriving three hours before an international flight and two hours before a domestic one. That advice matters for the departure leg of your trip: when you leave Seattle for Toronto or Europe, tell the desk your flight and we work backwards from the three-hour guidance. On domestic arrivals the free waiting time is 30 minutes after landing, and on international arrivals it is 60.
If you are starting in Toronto, our Pearson Airport limo page explains the departure steps, and our airport limo comparison shows the other airports within reach of the city.
Distances from Sea-Tac to the places that matter

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Seattle | about 22 km (14 mi) | 25 to 50 minutes |
| Seattle cruise piers (Pier 66 and Pier 91) | about 22 to 28 km (14 to 17 mi) | 30 to 55 minutes |
| Bellevue | about 30 km (19 mi) | 30 to 60 minutes |
| Redmond | about 40 km (25 mi) | 40 to 75 minutes |
| Tacoma | about 35 km (22 mi) | 30 to 60 minutes |
| Vancouver, British Columbia | about 240 km (150 mi) | 3 to 4 hours plus the border |
Seattle's traffic is famously tied to its geography. Interstate 5 is the spine, and Lake Washington splits the Eastside from the city with only a few bridges. In rush hour, a quiet half-hour can become more than an hour. The booker gives a fixed fare for the exact route; the chauffeur picks the way in real time.
Sea-Tac to downtown: light rail versus chauffeur
Sound Transit's 1 Line is a serious option here. A train station at the airport connects to downtown stations, and Sound Transit's timetable shows service from about five in the morning until shortly after midnight, with the frequency rising in peaks. We recommend you consult Sound Transit for the live timetable. Typical journey time from the airport to the Westlake area is about 40 minutes, which is an approximation and not a promise.

| Option | Typical time to downtown | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Link light rail | about 40 minutes | Lowest | Solo traveller, one bag, hotel near a station |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 25 to 50 minutes door to door | Fixed fare via booker | Late arrivals, groups, early meetings, privacy |
| Ride-app pickup | 30 to 60 minutes plus waiting | Surge-priced | Short notice |
| Taxi | 25 to 50 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous rides |
| Rental car | Similar, plus parking | Downtown parking is costly | Trips beyond the city |
If you are travelling light and your hotel is a short walk from a station, the train is hard to beat on price and predictability. A chauffeur is better when you arrive after the trains thin out, travel with a family, or need to be in a meeting room at a fixed hour.
Seattle cruise piers: Alaska season and embarkation days
Seattle is a major departure point for Alaska cruises. Ships sail from the downtown waterfront and from a larger terminal at Smith Cove; your cruise documents state which pier your ship uses, and our cruise port hub explains embarkation timing in general. The drive from the airport is about 22 to 28 km (14 to 17 mi), but embarkation mornings can bring traffic and luggage drop-off queues.
For a group, consider an Executive Sprinter rather than several cars: it carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. A family of five with cruise luggage often fits in a Luxury SUV with 5 to 6 large bags. If your itinerary goes on to Vancouver or Alaska ports, speak to the desk about repeating arrangements at the other end. See also our Vancouver cruise terminal page.
Seattle to Vancouver: the cross-border route
Vancouver is about 240 km (150 mi) north, and the drive normally takes three to four hours before you factor in the border. The crossing, on Interstate 5 into British Columbia, can be quick or can add an hour or more depending on the day, and we cannot predict it. Carry passports for everyone in the vehicle, including children, and check each government's entry rules.
Because the border crossing changes the legal status of the ride, cross-border trips between Seattle and Vancouver are quoted on request: tell the desk the pickup, the drop-off and the date, and we confirm who delivers each leg and what documents are needed. For the Canadian end, see the Vancouver car service page, our cross-border car service guide and the Vancouver airport page.
Business travel: Bellevue, Redmond and South Lake Union
Seattle's economy is concentrated in a few places. South Lake Union and downtown house the city's big offices, Bellevue has become a second downtown, and Redmond is the home of several well-known technology campuses. The sensible way to cover three meetings in different places is to book by the hour and keep the same car all day.
For firms with frequent travellers, corporate accounts give you one monthly invoice, cost-centre references and bookings made by an assistant on behalf of the traveller. See our corporate chauffeur service page for the details.
Vehicles
| Vehicle class | Typical models (or similar) | Passengers and bags |

| First Class Sedan | Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series | Up to 3, with 2 large and 2 cabin bags |
| Luxury SUV | Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali | Up to 6, with 5 to 6 large bags |
| Executive Sprinter | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | Up to 12, with 12 bags |
Weather, winter and the Pacific Northwest
Seattle is known for rain, and rain slows traffic more than it stops it. The bigger planning problem is a rare snow day, when hills close and even a short drive becomes unreliable. If snow is forecast, say so when you book. The chauffeur and desk can discuss an earlier pickup, a different route or a fallback. We will never promise a time that conditions do not allow.
Downtown hotels, Pike Place and the waterfront
Most visitors who stay in Seattle choose between the downtown core near Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and South Lake Union to the north. The streets there are steep and many are one-way, and delivery trucks block curbs in the morning. Give the booker the exact hotel name rather than a street, because the chauffeur can then use the hotel's own arrival lane. If you are staying in a rental apartment, send the building entrance and any access code in the booking notes, so the chauffeur is not circling while you wait.
Evenings are straightforward: a return to Sea-Tac for a late departure is usually faster than the morning run, and a 6 a.m. flight needs a 3 a.m. conversation with the desk. Tell us the time you want to be at the terminal and we work backwards from it.
Waiting, delays, cancellations
We follow your flight from departure, and that applies to every Sea-Tac pickup. A late flight moves your pickup at no cost. Free waiting is 15 minutes on other pickups. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup: no charge with more than 72 hours' notice; 10 percent at 72 hours or less; 50 percent at 48 hours or less; 100 percent at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Large events may carry a different deadline, which your confirmation states.
Privacy, children and extras
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request. You can request child, toddler and booster seats when you book. Most vehicles have Wi-Fi, water and phone chargers. We never promise alcohol on board. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company, so there are no armed drivers or bodyguards; we work alongside your own security team.

Frequently asked questions
Can I book a chauffeur at Sea-Tac in advance?
Yes. Enter your flight and destination in the online booker and the desk confirms the booking with a named meeting point. The chauffeur tracks your flight.
What are the rules for limousines at Sea-Tac?
The Port of Seattle states that limousines must be chauffeur-driven, unmetered and unmarked luxury vehicles. Our partner vehicles are licensed and commercially insured, and the confirmation gives the current meeting point.
How far is Sea-Tac from downtown Seattle?
About 22 km (14 mi). The drive is typically 25 to 50 minutes outside peak periods and longer during rush hour or major events.
Is light rail a good alternative?
Often, yes. Sound Transit's 1 Line runs from the airport to downtown, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. It suits solo travellers with light luggage, while a chauffeur suits families, late arrivals and fixed-time meetings.
How far is Vancouver from Seattle?
About 240 km (150 mi), normally three to four hours plus the border crossing. Cross-border rides are quoted on request, so ask the desk before you book.
Do I clear US customs at Seattle if I fly from Toronto?
Normally you clear US border inspection at Pearson before you leave, and you arrive in Seattle as a domestic passenger. If you connect through another country, ask your airline.
How long does the chauffeur wait after I land?
After landing, 30 minutes free on domestic arrivals and 60 minutes on international arrivals. Late flights are tracked, so the pickup moves with the flight.
Can I get a car for a cruise from Sea-Tac?
Yes. The drive to the cruise piers is about 22 to 28 km (14 to 17 mi). A Luxury SUV suits a family, and an Executive Sprinter suits groups with luggage.
What does it cost?
We do not publish rates. The online booker shows the exact all-in fare for your pickup, destination and vehicle before payment, and that fare is fixed.
