Black car service LAX: what you are actually booking
If you search for a black car service at LAX, you are really buying three things: certainty that a named driver is waiting, a vehicle that matches your party and luggage, and a fare that does not move when the freeway does. That is the whole product. Everything else on this page is detail about how it works in Los Angeles specifically.
Enroutz.ca is a Toronto-based chauffeur desk. For Los Angeles the ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur partner, and it is booked, confirmed and invoiced by our desk. You get one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact around the clock. Partner vehicles are no more than four model years old; Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach can be up to seven. We do not own cars or offices in California, and we will not pretend to.
Enter your LAX flight, your hotel or home address and the number of passengers in the online booker. It shows the exact all-in fare for those addresses and that vehicle class before payment, and the desk confirms the booking once a partner chauffeur is assigned.
What is the best way to get a car service from LAX?

Pre-book a licensed chauffeur through a desk that tracks your flight, confirms the pickup point in writing and quotes a fixed fare before you pay. Use rail or a shuttle when you are travelling light and the destination suits it. Pre-booking is the better choice when time, luggage or privacy matters.
LAX is a large airport with a single loop road serving nine terminals: Terminals 1 to 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Passengers can feel lost on the kerb because several kinds of vehicle compete for the same space. A pre-booked chauffeur removes the guesswork, because the meeting point is stated in your confirmation rather than discovered on arrival.
The airport is also tightly controlled. The Los Angeles World Airports site states plainly that LAX is closed to the general public around the clock and that entry is limited to passengers, the people meeting or assisting them, and airport personnel whose jobs require it. That is one more reason to agree the exact meeting point in advance rather than improvise.
Flying in from Toronto: preclearance changes your arrival
This is the detail most Canadian travellers do not expect. Flights from Toronto Pearson to US airports normally pass through US preclearance before departure, so you do your US border inspection in Toronto. US Customs and Border Protection says precleared travellers bypass CBP and TSA inspections on US arrival. When you land at LAX you arrive like a domestic passenger: no queue in a federal inspection hall, and the baggage claim is the next stop.

For your pickup this means two things. First, you can reasonably expect your chauffeur to see you sooner than someone arriving on a long-haul flight from Europe or Asia. Second, our desk applies the waiting period that matches your arrival type, which is 30 minutes after landing on domestic arrivals and 60 minutes on international arrivals, so a delayed bag does not cost you the car.
If you are coming from Toronto, you might also read our Pearson Airport limo guide for the departure end, including how early to leave downtown for a US-bound flight.
Passengers connecting from Europe, Asia or the Middle East onto an international arrival at the Tom Bradley terminal follow the full inspection route and get the longer window. Entry rules for your passport are set by US Customs and Border Protection, which publishes them at cbp.gov; check it before you fly, because the rules differ by nationality.
How the LAX pickup works with Enroutz.ca
- You book and receive a confirmation with the vehicle class, the chauffeur's first name and the meeting instructions.
- We track your flight from the moment it departs. If it lands early or late, the chauffeur adjusts.
- After you land, you message or call the desk number in your confirmation if you need to adjust anything. The chauffeur is already positioned according to the airport's current rules.
- For an extra, a chauffeur can meet you inside arrivals with a name board, including an alias name if you prefer privacy. Read how this works on our meet and greet page.
- Luggage is loaded and the drive begins, with water, Wi-Fi and chargers in most vehicles.

Where rideshare and pre-arranged vehicles are allowed to load at LAX has changed several times during the airport's long construction programme. We have not confirmed the current arrangement from the airport's own website, so this page does not describe a specific lot or level. The confirmation you receive states the current meeting point, and the airport authority's website at lawa.org remains the reference.
How far is LAX from where you are going?
LAX sits on the Pacific side of the city, close to the beach communities and far from the eastern part of the region. The distances below are road distances, and the times are what a chauffeur would plan for outside of rush hour. The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Santa Monica | about 13 km (8 mi) | 25 to 45 minutes |
| Beverly Hills | about 19 km (12 mi) | 30 to 50 minutes |
| Hollywood | about 27 km (17 mi) | 40 to 70 minutes |
| Downtown Los Angeles | about 27 km (17 mi) | 35 to 70 minutes |
| Van Nuys Airport | about 30 km (19 mi) | 35 to 60 minutes |
| Anaheim | about 55 km (34 mi) | 50 to 90 minutes |
Those ranges are wide for a reason. A drive that takes half an hour at ten at night can take twice as long on a Friday at five. Good dispatch is partly the work of choosing the right freeway, and a local partner who drives these routes daily is worth more than a map app.
LAX to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and the Westside
The Westside is the most common destination for visitors, and it is also where an experienced driver earns their place. Santa Monica is reached by Lincoln Boulevard or by the 405 and 10 freeways; which is faster depends on the hour and on incidents, and the chauffeur decides in real time. Beverly Hills sits further inland and is usually a surface-street run through Westwood or a freeway run followed by Wilshire Boulevard.

If your hotel is on Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard or in Century City, tell the booker which entrance you want. Many hotels in this part of Los Angeles have a valet or a porte-cochère with a defined arrivals procedure, and chauffeurs who know the doors save you time. Our overview of the Los Angeles car service covers hotels, studios and the awards-season calendar in more depth.
Hollywood, studios and entertainment-industry arrivals
Los Angeles is a working city for film, television and music. If you are travelling for a production, a premiere or a meeting at a studio lot, you probably have a schedule that someone else has built to the minute. A chauffeur booked through us fits into that schedule: the pickup time is based on the flight, the drop-off is based on the call time, and the desk monitors both.
Discretion is part of the service. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and we sign non-disclosure agreements on request. If you need to arrive under an alias, the booking and the name board can use it. Our VIP chauffeur page explains the protocol in detail. Enroutz.ca is a chauffeur service and not a security company, so we do not provide armed drivers or bodyguards; we work alongside a client's own team.

Honest comparison: LAX to the Westside by every option
The lowest-cost option is not always the wrong one. If you are a solo traveller with one bag staying near a rail stop, public transport may be exactly right. The table below is meant to help you decide, including when not to book us.
| Option | Typical time to the Westside | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 25 to 70 minutes door to door | Fixed fare via booker | Families, executives, late arrivals, heavy luggage |
| Rideshare | 30 to 75 minutes plus pickup wait | Surge-priced | Short notice, light luggage |
| Airport shuttle bus | 45 to 120 minutes with stops | Lowest | Solo travellers who are flexible |
| Taxi | 30 to 70 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous trips with no booking |
| Rental car | Similar to chauffeur, plus parking | Varies by season and parking | Visitors covering several cities |
The shuttle wins on cost, and the rental wins if you will be driving every day. The chauffeur wins whenever your time has a deadline, when you arrive with a family, or when you do not want to learn Los Angeles traffic on your first evening.
Choosing the right vehicle for LAX
Your vehicle class should follow your luggage more than your status. Los Angeles hotels can be generous with space, but a car full of golf bags and costume trunks is still a car full of bags.
- Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar): up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
- First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar): up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags, with the quietest ride.
- Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar): up to 6 passengers and 5 to 6 large bags. The usual choice for families.
- Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter): up to 12 passengers and 12 bags for delegations and production crews.
Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Every class is shown "or similar", and the exact model is confirmed when you book. See the full fleet for details.
Business travel, conventions and corporate accounts
Los Angeles business travel concentrates in a few clusters: the Westside, downtown, Century City and the airport corridor. If you manage the travel for a team, the question is rarely the fare; it is whether five colleagues arriving on three flights can be moved without you spending the afternoon on the phone.
Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing let your assistant book on behalf of the traveller, attach a cost-centre reference and receive one statement. Read more on our corporate chauffeur service page or open a corporate account. For conferences, see our meetings, incentives and conferences service.
Late arrivals, delays and waiting time
Flight tracking is standard on every airport pickup. When a flight is delayed, the chauffeur's start time moves with it at no cost to you. After landing you get 30 minutes of free waiting on domestic arrivals and 60 minutes on international arrivals; on other pickups, 15 minutes. If you will be longer, say so and the desk will tell you what applies.
A short word on cancellations. More than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less is 10 percent; 48 hours or less is 50 percent; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, is 100 percent, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events and conventions may carry a different deadline, which is stated on your confirmation.
Child seats, accessibility and extras
Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at the time of booking. Tell us the ages and weights so the right seat is in the car, because we cannot add one at the kerb. Wi-Fi, bottled water and phone chargers are available in most vehicles. We do not promise alcohol on board; local law applies.
If you need help with a wheelchair or reduced mobility, mention it when you book so that the desk can confirm a suitable vehicle with the partner.
Going on from Los Angeles
Many travellers use LAX as one stop on a longer tour of California. A one-way transfer to Santa Barbara, a day in the desert, or a connection north to San Francisco can all be arranged from the same booking. Our desk can coordinate the second leg with the partner in that region; compare it with the SFO airport page when you arrive in the Bay Area.
For the wider picture, see our hub for chauffeur service in the USA and the main airports directory. If you are heading to Las Vegas afterwards, the Harry Reid airport page covers that arrival.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a black car service from LAX cost?
We do not publish rates because the right answer depends on your address, vehicle class and time. Enter your pickup and drop-off in the online booker and it shows the exact all-in fare before you pay. The fare is fixed once you confirm.
Can I book a black car service at LAX from Canada?
Yes. Our Toronto desk books, confirms and invoices the ride, and a vetted, licensed and insured Los Angeles chauffeur partner delivers it. You get one confirmation and one point of contact, whether you book from Toronto, London or Dubai.
Where does my chauffeur meet me at LAX?
The confirmation states the current meeting point. LAX has changed how it handles rideshare and pre-arranged vehicles more than once, so we do not print a fixed lot or level on this page. A name-board greeting inside arrivals is available as an add-on.
Do I clear US customs at LAX if I fly from Toronto?
On most Toronto to US flights, US border inspection happens at Pearson before you depart, so you land at LAX as a domestic arrival. Check your airline and your itinerary, because connecting itineraries differ. Your passport rules are published by US Customs and Border Protection.
How long will the chauffeur wait if my bag is late?
On domestic arrivals the chauffeur waits 30 minutes free after landing; on international arrivals, 60 minutes. Flights are tracked, so a late flight moves the pickup time automatically.
How long does the drive from LAX to Beverly Hills take?
It is about 19 km (12 mi) and takes roughly 30 to 50 minutes outside of rush hour. At peak times, allow considerably longer. The chauffeur chooses the route in real time.
Can I get a car seat for my child?
Yes. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request when you book. Please provide ages and weights so the correct seat is fitted.
Can you pick me up at Van Nuys instead?
Yes, for private-jet arrivals. See our Van Nuys page for the details, and book the pickup the same way through the booker.
Is Enroutz.ca a security company?
No. We are a chauffeur service. We do not provide armed drivers or bodyguards, but we work alongside a client's own security team and are discreet about every booking.
